I finished it yesterday. I really liked the game, but I feel somewhat disappointed. I felt like I was discouraged to explore, and the investigations do get repetitive. Also, I can't play after the main story is finished to collect the rest of the cars, or play the street crimes? When I restarted it just put me in the middle of the last mission where you can't really deviate from the path. It felt like there is this huge environment that they don't want me to look at.

You can, you just have to go to cases and you can play free roam for each division. Also, do you know about the hidden Golden Film Reels? Looking for those is a good way to explore. And if you get the Badge Pursuit DLC, you can explore even more.

Yeah, I was about to say, there is a Free Roam mode on each case level that lets you do all of the street crimes, locations, cars, etc. Plenty of replay value here. You can, you just have to go to cases and you can play free roam for each division. Also, do you know about the hidden Golden Film Reels? Looking for those is a good way to explore. And if you get the Badge Pursuit DLC, you can explore even more.

I just finished up Vice today, completely shocked (and very disappointed in Cole Phelps) with the conclusion. However, I'm sure Cole's fall from grace is only temporary, but I'm stumped as to how he will redeem himself. I'm sure it will have something to do with Roy Earl, that guy seems real shady to me.
Also, I'm really eager to find out why Cole did what he did. A wonderful family, a sweet job, and a well known hero. Why blow it all for a German junky? It doesn't make any sense but I can't remember the last time I was this intrigued and eager to find out the conclusion of a video game.

I didn't know that it was available from the menu. I'll try that. I still have the case I got from Gamestop to play, and a lot of other things to do.

I beat it yesterday. I was not happy with the ending, at least not the scene prior to credits, but it was satisfying and fits the world they built.
This is the first "real" (aka not Table Tennis) Rockstar game (even though it was Bondi) I've purchased and it was worth every penny. I'm thinking about buying the Social Pass and getting all the DLC that way when I come back to it later, I'll have an even more fleshed out experience.
Out of curiosity, did anyone else play in black-and-white mode?

I didn't know that either. How do you you play the black and white mode?
Anyway, I just finished the game. Watching the credits role as we speak, and all I have to say is WTF!?! Cole dies too? Please don't tell me Rockstar is gonna make it a habit of killing off their incredibly likable main characters? LOL. I didn't see it coming RDR and I certainly didn't see it coming here. I'm not happy about it, but it certainly added to the drama. I did like the fact that you can play as Jack Kelso for the final 3 cases of the game, he's a very likable character as well. One thing I still don't understand is, why did Cole leave his family for Elsa? Don't get me wrong, I liked that they were and love and all, but why desert his family for this woman? I never understood that.
I definitely give this game a flawless 10 out 10. I know some people that complained about the fact that you can't go around killing random people or run them over, and also that there's not enough to do in free roam. My response to that is, this game IS NOT GTA or RDR, it's L.A. Noire. If all you want to go around causing mayhem and chaos, then this is not the game for you. This game is about using your brain to solve mysteries, it's not about mindless mayhem. Yes there is a massive map to explore, but not a lot to do other than collect all the vehicles, film reels and badges (if you have the Badge Pursuit Challenge), as well as doing all the street crimes. Again, this game isn't about the free roaming aspect, it's about solving crimes. IMO, the main story is entertaining enough and incredibly fun to play, the free roaming stuff is just a little extra bonus. With that said I'm ready for a ton of DLC! I can't wait another 2+ years for the sequel, so I really hope Rockstar has a ton of DLC in store for us within the coming months/year. This game is definitely at the top of my list of favorite games of all time. Rockstar continues it's reign as king of video game developers.
Finally, for those that don't know: Make sure you stick around after the credits are over!

I didn't know that either. How do you you play the black and white mode? Go into Options, then Display. Its pretty cool, but I switched back to color. I feel like im missing something playing in B&W. Finished up Homicide and got through the first 2 Vice cases. This game is so addicting.

It's a cool feature, I wouldn't use it while playing a case for the first time, but I would consider using it for one that I might have to go back and replay.
