December 1st, 2010: IntensityA video plays, showcasing the talents of the wrestlers in SWZ. "My Curse" by Killswitch Engage plays over the loudspeaker to a sold out a arena as a huge pyro display goes off. The crowd roars as two men dressed in expensive suits are standing on the ramp of a very detailed set up. The men are standing at a podium with microphones.
Ralph Reegus: Thank you everyone for coming to the show. Allow me to introduce myself and my comrade. I am Ralph Reegus, and this is Johnny Alton. We are the co-owners of Sims Wrestling Zone.
Johnny Alton: Thanks Ralph. We are here tonight to thank the fans for all of their support. We do not intend to appear on either Assault or Intensity again after this show, as we do not intend on being the focus of the show.
Reegus: Very true. Tonight is the beginning of the SWZ draft, where the roster split will be decided. Throughout the night, the screen will flash half blue and half red. A wrestler's picture who shows up in the red half will belong to Intensity and a picture who shows up on the blue half will be headed to Assault.
Alton: Let's get this started! As if on cue, the screen begins flashing, on half red and the other half blue. The red half brings up a picture of none other than Duan Sanchez Jr. and the blue half shows one of the main eventers tonight, Kevin Hart. The announcers, Mark Chen and TJ Wyld go insane as two World Title contenders have been given a home.
Reegus: Tonight is sure to be a great, and judging by that, a very exciting night as well.
Alton: Everyone enjoy yourselves. Thank you very much. The two men walk away, and the music of T-Mac plays to the delight of those in the crowd that are familiar with him.
To Intensity: Duan Sanchez Jr.
To Assault: Kevin Hart
T-Mac vs. Cody RejeroWhat a way to kick off a new era in professional wrestling. Two of SWZ's upper midcard stars went at it here as T-Mac and Rejero went head to head in a very back and forth match. T-Mac kept it technical with a lot of locks and take downs. Rejero was able to fend off some of these attempts using dirty tactics as well as some high flying moves. In the end, the crowd was happy with the outcome of the first match as T-Mac locked in the Crossface, giving Rejero no choice but to tap out.
Winner via Submission: T-MacPost match, an angered Rejero gets his revenge by nailing the unexpecting T-Mac with a Canadian Destroyer, which received a chorus of boos for "The Calgary Kid."
While Rejero is still standing in the ring, the screen begins flashing once again. T-Mac recovers and begins to look on with Rejero in intruige of what is about to happen. In an interesting turn of events, the blue side shows a picture of Rejero and the red side shows a picture of T-Mac. T-Mac looks at Rejero, mouthing the words "you're lucky" before leaving the ring.
To Intensity: T-Mac
To Assault: Cody Rejero
The camera heads backstage, where we see a very nice locker room decked out with suits, jewelry, the works. We see Mike Bockwinkel sitting in his personal locker room. He is sitting in a throne talking on his iPhone 4, which he received before it was released. Linda Sampson, SWZ's backstage interviewer is standing by and is ready to give her first interview.
Sampson: I'm here backstage with Mike Bockwinkel in his personal locker room. Mike-
Bockwinkel: That's Mr. Bockwinkel to you sweet lips.
Sampson: Mr. Bockwinkel, what are your thoughts on the formation of Sims Wrestling Zone?
Bockwinkel: My thoughts? It's about time that I get the proper pedestal to showcase my endless talent. Reegus and Alton picked the star, and I'm gonna be here for the long run. It comes to my understanding that I am in a six man tag match with my other "competitors" in the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament.Bockwinkel takes a sip of his champagne before getting to the point.
Bockwinkel: Well tonight, I will show these "competitors" just how much better I am than all of them and I will go on to be the SWZ World Heavyweight Champion. Now get out of here! Can't you see I'm busy?Bockwinkel goes back to playing with his iPhone as Sampson awkwardly leaves the locker room.
The screen begins to flash once again, and the fates of two more superstars is about to be seen. Numerous pictures of all of SWZ's wrestlers go through until the red half stops on Thomas McCoy and the blue half stops on "The Shooting Star" Travis Cantrell. Strangely enough, these two are in tag team action next.
To Intensity: Thomas McCoy
To Assault: Travis Cantrell
Thomas McCoy and Hunter Harrison vs. Travis Cantrell and Steven SurgeA good way to showcase the undercard talent that SWZ possesses. These four wrestlers are relatively unknown to the wrestling world. However, there was one issue here. Cantrell, the high flying spot monkey was really at odds with the three other ground based power wrestlers. McCoy used his great size to his advantage, looking very impressive even when battling Surge. Harrison and Surge were alright, but nothing spectacular in this match. McCoy showed why he is called "The Train" by nailing Cantrell with a Jackhammer and getting the win for his team.
Winners via Pinfall: Thomas McCoy and Hunter HarrisonBackstage we are in a normal locker room, clearly not as fancy as that of Mike Bockwinkel and we seen a masked man meditating. Linda Sampson approaches the masked man, who is none other than Red Dragon, and asks him a question.
Sampson: Red Dragon, what are your thoughts on tonight's match, which is a part of the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament?Red Dragon just sits there, continuing to meditate as Sampson looks on a little frustrated.
Sampson: How about some thoughts on Kevin Hart, your opponent tonight?Red Dragon responds this time, but only with a glare. Despite having a mask on the cover his face, the glare sends Sampson right out of the room. Red Dragon laughs a little bit, shakes his head and mumbles something as he continues to meditate, clearly focused on his match tonight against Kevin Hart.
Back to the ring, and the screen once again starts flashing. The pictures are becoming fewer and fewer as more wrestlers are being drafted. In a surprising turn of events, two wrestlers show up on both sides. On one half is the tag team of Cade and Colt Masterson, who will be headed to Assault. On the other half, its two singles wrestlers, Cain Jackal, and Hunter Harrison.
To Intensity: Cain Jackal, Hunter Harrison
To Assault: Cade Masterson, Colt Masterson
Colt and Cade Masterson vs. PJ and Scott RobertsThis match features SWZ's only established tag teams at the moment. The Mastersons work a very fast paced technical style, with lots of kicks. This went well with PJ Robert's high flying style, but clashed with Scott's brawling style. Scott was able to hit some nice power moves on the small Masterson duo, but once PJ was isolated, the Mastersons took over and Colt hit the Click Click Boom on PJ to get the win.
Winners via Pinfall: Colt and Cade MastersonMark Chen and TJ Wyld begin discussing the huge impact that the draft has already made, citing Kevin Hart and Duan Sanchez's shock drafts to opposite brands. They hype up the next match, stating that these are the six men not taking part in the main event who are in the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament and this will be a good way of seeing who is a contender and who is a pretender.
Ace Bennett, Duan Sanchez Jr., and Connor O'Reily vs. Chaz Classic, Mike Bockwinkel and Zeke WalkerProbably the match of the night, but barely considering how good the main event was. All six men are great workers and really got to show it off with the television audience. The heels had a bit of an ego battle throughout the match, but they eventually got it together for the good of the match. The faces were a well oiled machine, until Connor O'Reily was taken out by Chaz Classic on the outside. Classic, who had the standout performance took out Ace Bennett and hit him with the Snap Brainbuster to make a huge statement to get the win.
Winners via Pinfall: Chaz Classic, Mike Bockwinkel, and Zeke WalkerAfter the match, the screen starts flashing again. Five of the men in the ring look on, unsure of their fates as the pictures flashed before their eyes. However, none of the men would find out which brand they would wind up on as Intensity gained Luke Collins and Assault gained Cyrus Black.
To Intensity: Luke Collins
To Assault: Cyrus Black
Following the match, we get the first sight of the Sims Wrestling Zone interviewing set. It is quite nice. We see the beautiful Linda Sampson with one of the competitors in the main event.
Sampson: I'm here backstage with "The Ace of Harts" Kevin Hart. Now Kevin, you are taking part in the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament tonight taking on Red Dragon. What do you think your chances are?
Hart: What are my chances? Are you serious? You think that little red lizard has a chance against my excellence? They don't call me a Hart for no reason. I may not be related, but I'm just as, if not more talented than the Hart family. I'm gonna go out there tonight, make quick work of the dinosaur lookin' dude, and move on. That championship is gonna be mine.Hart looks at Sampson in disgust before arrogantly walking away.
Cyrus Black and Matt Daniels vs. Sam Kineval and Eddy ValintinoA surprisingly good match featuring some of SWZ's midcard stars. If a midcard title is introduced anytime soon, these four would probably be some of the top competitors to get the belt. Black and Kineval were particularly impressive. Daniels and Valintino were no slouches either, getting in a lot of offense. However, the faces would pick up the big win after Valintino attempted to use the ropes for leverage, was caught by the referee and then hit with the Black Blood from Black, who then got the win for his team.
Winners via Pinfall: Cyrus Black and Matt Daniels After the four men clear the ring, the screen once again begins flashing, leaving the crowd in anticipation for the next round of drafting in WSZ. Another couple of lower card guys are drafted here when X Jack is selected for Intensity and Steven Surge makes his way to Assault. After these draft picks, the next match gets underway, which features the newly drafted X Jack.
To Intensity: X Jack
To Assault: Steven Surge.
X Jack vs. AJ MathewsA really good match that came right before the main event, and rightfully so. These twos are clearly young guns who deserve to be recognized. X Jack, using his high flying arsenal, and Mathews with his technical prowess really wowed the crowd with a vast array of moves. The match was mostly controlled by the ruthless Mathews, who gave X Jack little to no breathing room. X Jack did fight valiantly though, and was about to hit The X until Mathews countered into the devastating Eastern Execution.
Winner via Pinfall: AJ MathewsThe screen begins flashing once again as the wrestlers in the ring look to see who is going where. Mathews, who is clearly more alive, seems anxious to be drafted and gets furious when its not him who gets a roster spot just yet. Two men with the same name will be going to different shows as Derek Heights is heading to Intensity while Derek Gordon will be heading to Assault.
To Intensity: Derek Heights
To Assault: Derek Gordon
A hype video is shown hyping up the eight workers who are taking part in the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. Work from several independent promotions including PTW, KWC, SNW, NWL, and many more are shown with the tournament wrestlers looking dominant. The focus shifts to Red Dragon and Kevin Hart, who are facing off tonight for a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament. The main event is up next as well as the final draft pick for tonight's edition of SWZ Intensity.
SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament
Red Dragon vs. Kevin HartSWZ's first main event did not disappoint. Hart and Dragon went at it for a good 20 minutes, with neither man seeming to want to give up. Despite a bit of a style clash, the two really put together a good match. Dragon used his hard hitting power moves and Hart tried to be shifty and evasive. Dragon was on the offensive for a majority of the match, using his size advantage for his benefit. However, Hart would fight back using pokes to the eyes and mask pulls to get the upper hand. After a back and forth contest, Hart countered a Red Dragon Driver attempt into a Sharpshooter in the center of the ring. Dragon had no choice but to submit.
Winner via Submission: Kevin HartKevin Hart celebrates, having moved on to the next round in the SWZ World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. The screen flashes once again as Hart awaits to see who is joining him on Assault. Red Dragon looks on, nursing his wounds, seeing if he will be selected. It turns out that he is, but Hart seems disappointed as Dragon will be coming to Wednesday nights for Intensity. Assault drafts impressive young up and comer Ryan Trance with their final pick of the night. Red Dragon stares down Hart, knowing they won't be seeing each other for a while again, as the show goes off the air.
To Intensity: Red Dragon
To Assault: Ryan Trance
