I love Christmas! Everyone at church is so smiley and wearing ridiculous jumpers and exchanging pressies, I get to give my girlfriend her present on Christmas day with her being there which was something I'd never been able to do until last year (We've only been together for two years). Then I get home and have some time with my folks, open some presents (which, tbh, isn't very exciting for me, my family bless me with amazing gifts every year but I MUCH prefer giving presents to them), the I get to see my family's faces as I give them their presents. The last two years my grandma and her boyfriend (I know, it's cringeworthy but lovely at the same time) have spent Christmas day with us because otherwise they'd be alone. It's been lovely to be able to do that for them but hopefully we'll get a Christmas day to ourselves one year soon  I love Christmas so so much but I don't know whether I prefer the actual atmosphere of Easter because that's not just a day, it's a whole weekend of celebration where everyone's so excited to celebrate the ressurection of Jesus. Not only that but Easter hasn't become commercialised so everyone's excited for the "right" reasons if you get me (not that there's anything wrong with the way the world celebrates Christmas) and the atmosphere is just electric. |

I might go to church this Christmas for the 1st time ever. I used to go meet friends at a bar every year when I was done with the family stuff, but I don't drink anymore. Church could be a good substitute.

Everything! I love the Christmas season. As I say every year - and this is without fail - no matter how much of an attitude my mom gets at times, or how much s*it I get from my parents throughout the year, Christmas time is the one time of year, and it usually lasts all month of December, where my mom is one of the nicest people you'll meet. I think it's just the spirit of the holidays that lightens her miserability up. I think I just made up a word there too, LMAO.
I only know one thing I'm getting, and that is a pair of Chuck Taylor's, black. I was with my mom when she bought them, and I picked them out. She said I needed new shoes, so I picked Chuck's. Not only were they some I've been wanting for awhile, but they were only $40.

I truly, for the most part, hate Christmas. It's nothing to the effect of "being different" or anti-social or anything like that - I just get really beat down on myself this time of year. I work in retail, which just triples my stress levels, and I get really moody. There are silver linings - I like buying things for people, I like the Peanuts special, and a lot of the candy that comes out. I also like snow, the cold weather, and Christmastime also means Hometown Throwdown time. This song really sums it up for me:

All the stuff you mentioned really, especialy when was younger. I'd be counting the days till Xmas and when it finally arrived it felt surreal.
I started to find it less exciting in 08 because for me that was the worst christmas I've ever had. But it picked up again in 2009 when I met my girlfriend in December. Last year's christmas was one of the best I've ever had. And this one is gonna be amazing because I haven't seen her since May as she has been with her sister in Canada, can't wait to see her again more than anything this christmas.
