From Ewrestlingnews.com: The newly created TNA Immortal Championship was a belt specifically made for Jeff Hardy and thus will not replace the actual TNA World Heavyweight Championship over the long run. The assumption of many within the company is that the longtime belt will return once Hardy loses the Immortal Championship.
Though the purple belt has been panned online, a number of people within the organization are high on its appearance. One TNA source deemed it "beautiful" and raved about the designer's attention to detail.
The word amongst the locker room was that the belt cost the company roughly $18,000.
So there you have it - $18,000 down the drain The bit I boldified made me laugh At least it's not forever

off. There is not a chance in hell it cost anywhere near $18,000. and if TNA pulls a World Championship out of a trash can, it'll once and for all prove itself a joke company.

I used to be a belt mark. There's a forum called Flair For the Gold where all of the REAL belt marks talk, the guys who have collections of real championship belts, not the replicas that people like you and I can afford.
Belts cost like $2,000-$3,500, tops.
This is dirt-sheet bullsh*t.

Yep, add another to the old post total by saying absolutely nothing. What a joke. There's no way the belt cost $18 grand. I've dealt with the beltmaker that produced it, Top Rope Belts, and they don't charge that much for anything. Heck, for less than 2 grand, you can buy as close of an exact replica of Ric Flair's old Big Gold NWA/WCW belt as you can get. The owner, Randy Jackson, does awesome work, and really does have a great eye for detail. It's not just dirt sheet bullsh*t, it's pseudo-kayfabe bullsh*t . . . .

Jeff Hardy told them it cost $18000, because $2000 went towards the belt and $16000 went toward a payment to his dealer.

I don't know much about belt making, but wouldn't they also have to pay someone to design it, and make a mold for the plates and all that? Maybe the belts themselves are only a few grand, but the whole process is probably much more expensive. $18k still sounds very high, but who knows.

No, I don't guess it does in the long run . . . but it's stupid bullsh*t none the less. People get jumped on for spamming around here all the time, yet sh*t like that is allowed to pass. There's NO WAY Tna shelled out that much for Jeff's belt. It's just hype and BS. Kind of like how WAY back in the day (when Race was to be presented with the new belt in 1973) they said the domed globe NWA Title belt was crafted by the finest craftsmen specializing in gold and silver. Some claimed back then that the belt was worth 10's of thousands (in the 70's mind you).
