Let's look at the proto pics compared with the moc pics:  Hardy  Everything is the same: facepaint, tattoo, purple boots. Except the armsocks. A lot less than on his proto figure. Kind of annoying, but not too bad. Hogan  Well as you can see from the proto picture, he has no detail whatsoever. But halleluyah: this is not the case from the moc pic. Not only does he have logos on his bandana and shirt, the shirt logo is nice and big just like in real life, without missing anything, as far as I can see. Comes with sunglasses, which is pretty cool. From the looks of it, this could be one of the best from this set. RVD  From what I can see, the logo looks almost the same on the singlet (minor differences, nothing big). He even has a little stubble, which is nice. But unfortunately, he doesn't have the tall kickers as shown. Luckily he still has the Rob Van Dam running down the side (reflection from bubble). At least it features the RVD hand mold, but the problem is it has no fingers actually showing (painted black). Guess what's the first thing I'm going to do when I get it? Wolfe  No changes to logos on tights, looks 95% the same, but the proto has silver edges to the tights, on the waist and thighs. Nice one jakks. Could have come with sunglasses like Hogan, Storm, Steiner, but oh well, nice to have his figure. Abyss  Everything the same. Perfect, I really like this figure. Dinero  This one's kind of annoying. Missing The black in the middle of the kneepads (I will be painting it on, no real biggie), and the white on the toes, again I will paint that on myself. I can't tell if he has the 4-up on the right glove. Hope so. Anyway, despite the imperfections, I am still pretty excited about getting every single figure from this set, definitely the best line up so far. But the best set? Time will tell. But I can't wait for these bad boys. I'm loving the figures from jakks so far, and I look forward to expanding my collection. I'm thankful the missing details are only things that I can fix up quickly myself. |

overall, i think it's a decent set. it's pretty annoying that most of the final figures are downgrades from the protos but they're pretty easy fix ups. i'll be picking up abyss, desmond wolf, rvd for sure. i might also get pope and hogan too but have zero interest in that hardy.

Are we sure the RVD proto had tall kickers? Kind of just looks like the kneepad is pushed lower down on the proto versus the in-package.

Are we sure the RVD proto had tall kickers? Kind of just looks like the kneepad is pushed lower down on the proto versus the in-package. Definitely got tall kickers - just look at the scuplt Plus Pope proto has them too and they clearly don't go all the way up to the kneepad Will people in the Uk be able to buy these? Of course - from forbidden planet, Smyths and certain independant shops. Dunno bout major retailers Also you'll be able to get them from the 'bay |

Let us all not get some wild yet. When the Figures are in our hands then we will be happy. This is jakks everyone. They could can the series just before they hit the shelfs at the stores. Log is not happy with Jakks and Legends #2. Beware! Jakks is evil.

well,
1. Hulk Hogan has a shirt instead of a plain black shirt.
2. The pope has different knee pads.
3. Abyss has a design on his shirt.

ill probably get this whole set but i am still really disappointed about rvd. sure the hands r an easy fix and i was going to change them anyway but it just shows jakks just does not care. the boots really bother me too. does jakks even produce tall kickers anymore? it seems like every time we see them in proto pics the final figure ends up with short boots.

It was the previous molded on version and the MOC image shows a more realistic painted version. Jeff's fly looks like it has painted on details, where the proto did not. The arm bands look very different. For Abyss: The head is different. The proto shows a growling scan. The MOC has a straight faced scan. It looks like the original torso on the proto was the Umaga one, where the proto has a different torso and a different shirt. The legs look better on the MOC one, as they got rid of the Umaga crotch piece, I think. Looks like they went for the standard Vince McMahon or possible Hardy crotch piece to go with those legs. The hair is different. The hair on the proto shows curly down on the left and down on the right. Straight down. The MOC has the hair on the left curled, but pushed towards his face and the hair on the rightside is shorter than the left. |

I just checked out all the details you mentioned and there is still no difference The Abyss scan never had a growling expression, the torso is exactly the same (same size, same creases sculpted in), can't tell about the crotch piece, then again I don't know how you could tell in the first place. The hair just looks like curly on both sides. Hardy proto has the same wifebeater as the moc. The abs piece has the same material creases and sculpt. The top has the same form and shape as the proto. This will be clarified when one of us actually gets them |
