People complain about sales not having low enough prices, but if they lower the prices that much the figures are gonna go quick. There's a reason it was called "early bird specials."

I didn't take advantage of the sale because there's nothing I need or want rihgt now until Legends 4 hits and I have them pre-ordered already. But after reading the comments about this sale here's my thoughts...
First off big props to RSC for doing a sale they didn't have to do it and any savings should be appreceated. And I'm sure if there were no sale people would still be ordering the things they wanted for the holidays. But if I were RSC this is how I would have done it... I would have had run the sale for 30-60 minutes and limited each sale item to 1 per order. This way everyone who wanted one and had it in their cart could have gotten it as long as it was in stock. But limiting it to 1 per order would stop the scalpers from ordering multiples. So this way if they wanted to get more than say one of the Icons set they'd have to place a second order w/ shipping.
But again big props for RSC for even having a sale.

I agree with PJ. Everyone should be great full that RSC even put up a sale at all. If you missed it, you missed. That's just the way it goes sometimes. It's "Cyber Monday", just as crazy as Black Friday. For those who missed the sale, be happy that you didn't camp outside TRU for hours just to be let down.
Now, ship out those L4 sets already!! I'm having my Fiancé pre order mine now for XMas

I missed a couple of Cyber Monday sales this morning on stuff that's a hell of a lot more expensive than wrestling figures. You don't see me throwing a temper tantrum about how Amazon is a horrible site because they won't sell all of their $300 digital cameras for $75 w/ free shipping. I assume this is your first time Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping. The doorbusters are extremely limited. The general idea is to get you into the store on the doorbuster, so you pick up a few other things while you're there. They obviously aren't going to sell their entire stock at the doorbuster prices. It goes to the fastest, and the luckiest..
This board has several thousand members. Ringside advertises in WWE magazine.. To say they sell out of even 50-100 of each figure in a couple of minutes wouldn't be a shock at all at very discounted prices. Even if the numbers were more like 25 each..

RSC was smart from a business standpoint. They put out 2 or 3 of the more sought after items at lower prices, prices at which they are still making at least 40-50% mark up on, and then they get to plug what a great sale they are having. I understand the frustration but you have to understand what RSC is all about. They are a scalper site. They get figures early and they get exclusives and they take advantage of the people who either a) can't wait b) don't have the patience to hunt or c) can't find what they are looking for at retail.
There hasn't been anything Mattel has put out that I haven't found yet, relative to what has been released so far in my area. In fact, as long as you're patient, there is pretty much an abundance of stuff. There are also people on here that will go and get things for you and either charge actual prices or just a dollar or two of mark up if you are active on the classifieds. Not to mention, checking online at Target, Walmart, WWE and TRU can get you most everything as well if you are paying attention. Don't get hung up on the game RSC plays. Be patient, and use the resources out there that can help save you money and get you what you want.
I will say this, it may not have been worth it to make a couple people happy to largely make a bigger group of people upset. Having something in your cart just to have "out of stock" when you check out would be wildly frustrating and that might piss me off enough to the point where I never come back. It's not the initial sale that makes a retailer money, it's the repeat business. Something Ringside should be conscious of moving forward.

Hey man I know how u feel. I bought the Hogan/Sting 2 pack for $40 only to see it sell for $25 after it was released. It sucks but you gonna do. It was a special sale. RS does charge some insane prices at times but you can't expect them to their whole stock of items at those prices.
What they should have done is put a time limit on the sale instead of a number of figs. Maybe have a 1 per customer limit and only a 10-15 min sale. That way everyone who wanted something could have gotten it.
Be patient and you can get all these at TRU for the same "insane" prices they had today. Remember everything happens for a reason and maybe u will luck out and find everything u wanted cheaper else where.

The fact that you had something in your cart and ready to check out in less than 3 minutes and then it says not available is bogus and wrong. It is about doing thigs that make your customers keep coming back. This really turned me off to them. I literally had over 100 dollars in my cart and I just left it because of the item not available anymore nonsence. For those who keep kissing up to ringside think about what they sell and how they over price their items. I don't really fault them. They are in the business of making money. But I do fault the people who come here and say oh we are lucky they put this great sale on. They are lucky that they have people coming to buy from them. They need to understand that little things such as having your cart full of items and than waiting to check out to see half of it is not available, keep customers from coming back. No joke you could get these figures cheaper on ebay which is a crazy thought but true. I guess my problem is that Ringside advertise insane sales and they were not prepared. This morning I realized that I'll just wait until the stuff hits the main store.

I don't know if bogus is the right term for the sale.....perhaps, "slightly disorganized" would be a better way to put it. Maybe next year they will have more clear instructions, such as 1 item per customer as somebody suggested to make sure more people can get something and scalping is avoided. As it seems most people lost items attempting to add additional items. The whole "sale starts at 6am but you have no idea what will be included or how many" was a little disorganized. Better luck next year, and as I said, maybe the plan will be more concrete in the future. they were limited 1 per customer..

My only problem is that they started it so early. I'm sure there is other people like me who needed to deposit some money into the bank first. Yet most banks don't open until 8 or 9 in the morning. If the sale started later I would have bought at least 7 things.

Those great deals are limited in quantity in the first place. The early bird gets the worm.
It's as simple as that.
Everybody loves a bargain. Who doesn't?
Imo, those who wanted that Hogan/ Sting pack should have pre-ordered it when it first came out and not wait till the price rose!
Everyone knows that once Ringside has limited quantity left of an item (cos it's in high demand), their price automatically goes up.

Lastly, as far as Sheamus goes for $7.50 at retail. Awesome. Why the are you trying to buy it from RSC when its SO READILY available at retail!?!?!?!? Oh yeah......thats right. BECAUSE ITS SO HARD TO FIND! Umm no he's not. I've seen 25 Sheamus figures so far and that was just the first holiday re-stock. If you go to the trade board there are plenty of people trying to unload extra Sheamus figures.

All of the people suggesting that they do 1 item per person...that's exactly what they did.

All of the people suggesting that they do 1 item per person...that's exactly what they did. Yes, but they shouldn't have limited the number they had set aside for the sale. Instead they should have made the sale somewhere in the 30-60 minutes range instead of 8 hours. This way everyone who wanted/had the stuff in their cart this morning only to have it out of stock when they checked out could have gotten it provided they had enough in inventory.

I have no problem with Ringside. The scalpers in my area that buy up all the good figures are the ones that piss me off. Ringside is just making smart business decisions.

The Legends 3 Rock was going for $25 shipped with some buy it nows, while RSC has it for $40 without shipping! It's not like its a limited! I was about to order it but after it was in my cart, with shipping and tax it was $22. Thats with 10 percent off. Either way be4 I could decide to buy it or not it was sold out.
