Segment One
Smackdown Opening

We are welcomed to WWE Smackdown by Matt Striker, Todd Grisham an Michael Cole. Cole explains that the reason this arena is covered with Christmas trees and other festive novelties is because we're having Smackdown's annual Christmas themed edition. He also explains that tonight we're going to get the fallout from Tables, Ladders and Chairs with two new champions in Edge and Kaval. Striker then says that the crowd should look forward to tonight's main event where we're going to see Alberto del Rio take on the high-flying Kofi Kingston!
The camera then pans over to Smackdown General Manager Theodore Long who is stood in the middle of the ring with a microphone in his right hand. He says that tonight, because we're having a Christmas theme, why not have a Christmas themed match? So, tonight, Rey Mysterio will take on former World Heavyweight Champion Kane in a- before Long could continue Kane's music hit and he ran down to the ring with a huge scowl on his face.
Kane shouts at Theodore Long saying that he's not taking on Rey Mysterio tonight and he's definitely not taking part in any petty Christmas themed match. He wants to cash in his rematch clause on Edge tonight! Long tells Kane to calm down but he's not going to get that match tonight. He's going to get it at the Royal Rumble! And, seeing as Edge chose the TLC stipulation, Kane gets to choose the stipulation for this match. Kane smiles and nods his head as the crowd boos the big red machine.
Match One
Layla vs Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix makes her way out to a massive pop from the crowd who are just happy to see someone with talent winning rather than LayCool. Michelle McCool, however, is not at ringside for some unknown reason. Layla looked displeased to be in a match with Beth Phoenix with her regular companion.
Layla starts the match-up off by slapping Beth round the face. Beth didn't react so Layla did it for a second time. This time, though, Beth picks Layla up and slams her into the floor with a Glam Slam and picks up an easy three count.

Dolph looks at Kaitlyn and smiles before telling Vickie that he's going to do this the right way without cheating. He says that if he takes on Kaval one on one cleanly then he knows he can win the Intercontinental Championship back. del Rio then says that tonight's main event is a no-brainer but he has other things on his mind currently. He says that Smackdown is a disaster because its World Heavyweight Champion is a man from a horrible place called Canada.
