Guess thats true. Who in you all's opinion had the best of both worlds? Jesse Ventura, Superstar Billy Graham.

Size and talent? In the 80s it was Hogan. Everyone can bash that Hogan had less then 10 moves and what he did was a joke but anyone that had seen his time in AWA and Japan knows that Hogan COULD work a match. No he wasnt Kurt Angle or Bret Hart but he had size, charisma, talent and it showed as he was completely over. Preach on its the same old tired criticism about Hogan that is just plain ignorant I completely agree with you and quite frankly he was more of a complete package IMHO than Angle or Bret in the fact he had size, the look, mic skills and could work dk could've worked them all under the table. angle could've kept up in his prime, but dk would've led. remember that before hogan, dk was the likely candidate to lead the wwf in their new york front when vince took over. if it wasn't for his substance abuse and attitude, he very well could've been the first star. he was what his name implied, dynamite. that's my take on it though, obviously hogan more than worked.

Can you imagine a DK vs Davey Boy feud for the WWF title? That would have been simply amazing.

As great as Dynamite was in the ring, I could never see him being "the man" in a wrestling company....other then Stampede really. Looking at him, while he was great in the ring and a great worker in Japan, I dont think he would have lasted in the 80s in the top spot.

Dynamite was an amazing, amazing talent I remember seeing a superplex for the first time from him on that wrestling classic tournament and personally I thought Beniot as great of a talent he was, was a poor mans DK Could DK been the top guy in WWF circa 1980s? Doubtful I also heard that Vince was considering Kerry Von Erich as his top guy but don't think that would have worked either based on his poor mic skills

I have seen little of DK and don't know enough about him to express my opinion. However, I wonder why Rick Rude was never Main Event Status in WWE? I mean WCW gave him the ball and he ran with it, but why didn't the E'?

Savage comes to mind right off hand. Had the look, the skills and the mic work but no matter who they had they werent gonna be bigger then Hogan.

They rarely gave anyone the chance to try and be bigger than Hogan.

But Rude did work with Hogan at house shows and did get a Main Event program with Warrior in 1990 so he did get a push

the only heels that got a push against Hogan on TV were the ones tailor made for him.
A)guys that backstabbed the Hulkster B)guys that were way bigger than him physically
Savage is a perfect example of type A.the heat created by Savage(whos excellence on the mic and in ring skill drove the feud) stabbing Hogan in the back propelled this feud to(IMO)Hogans finest WM match and his most profitable feud in WWE.Orndorff is another fine example of this.
other main feuds were nearly all physically bigger than him Andre,Earthquake,King Kong Bundy,Twin Towers,Yokozuna,Undertaker,Sid and Zeus
Rude didnt fit any of the above brackets(like many others)so he didnt rise to the top against Hogan.
