The mentors are well picked so far. Can't wait to see the rest of them and can't wait for the first show. Keep up the awesome work.

I'm actually not a fan of the choice of Legends. They just seem very mixed and matched to people purely based off small similarities or physical traits. Also, the family paired with family thing is just too obvious and quite boring, imo. I believe there are far more suitable mentors for guys like Kofi and Ezekiel Jackson, such as Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Jesse Ventura, guys with actual character.

I have Ventura and Malenko lined up to be mentors to some of the remaining guys. I've tried to go for some more 'face-like' options so far, since bar the two 'boring' options and DiBiase and Rhodes, I have only announced the Superstar's who are 'Face' mentors so far.

I have to agree with Chaz here. The current Legendary Mentors are extremely cliche, and linked to their Rookies too much. It's a good idea, but I would have liked to see a bit more range in the mentors.

Could be good, but this will be really difficult to keep in continuity with RAW and SmackDown booking, especially with WrestleMania XXVI around the corner and all. Should have started this at Season 3 or something, would be easier booking.

Two more legends are chosen. Dolph Ziggler: I've chosen a man who worked for the WWE for thirteen years, and held the WWE Championship for 280 days. He claimed to be the Wrestling God, though I'm sure after mentoring me, he'll realise who the real Wrestling God is. My mentor is John Bradshaw Layfield, JBL.
Zack Ryder: The man I've picked to be my Legendary Mentor has sometimes been called the 'Iceman', probably because he's so cool. He made his name in ECW, kind of like me, and despite all his success still managed to find the time to woo (woo woo!) the ladies. The man I've chosen to mentor me is Dean Malenko!
What you have to remember guys with the mentors that are being picked, the superstars are the ones picking the mentors themselves, they're not just being plonked with someone like what happens on the real NXT.

I actually really like the Ziggler/JBL pairing. Ryder/Malenko, not so much.

Quite an interesting way to go through with this, man. I agree some of the choices are cliche, but we'll have to see how the rest unfold.

The final NXT Legend is revealed. Drew McIntyre: The Chosen One doesn't need to choose a mentor, as instead, a mentor chooses him. The original Sinister Scotsman, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper, requested to be my Legendary Mentor on this, my path to World Championship glory, and I have gladly took his offer.
The Miz: Pick a 'Legendary Mentor'? Really?! Really?! I don't think that you understand that I am the future of this industry, and I don't need a 'mentor'. I am the only man in WWE history to be holding three championship belts at one time. I was thrown out of the locker room by so called 'veterans', and 'legends' so I think that I will gladly go through this competition on my own!

March 30th, 2010 - Las Vegas, NV. LIVE on SyFy, WWE NXT! The first ever edition of NXT begins with a video package, highlighting the wannabe World Champions, as well as the many Legends of the WWE ring they have chosen to be thier mentors. When this package ends, the NXT opening video package set to the official theme song, 'Let The Madness Begin' by Fozzy, with the first ever edition of NXT live from the Sin City, Las Vegas, beginning afterwards!
The show kicks off with Matt Striker in the ring, introducing himself as the host of NXT, as well introducing the announce team for the show, Josh Matthews, and Michael Cole. He then announces the competitors, who make thier way out to the ring with thier legendary mentors of choice, the ring quickly filling up with Superstars from past and present. Striker tells the crowd that tonight, these twelve superstars begin thier path to a potential future World Championship reign. He warns them before the competition begins that they must make the most of each week, as each week, the WWE Universe will be watching, and waiting for thier chance to save thier favourite competitors from elimination. He finishes by wishing them all Good Luck in the competition, before telling all but Ezekiel Jackson, Evan Bourne, and thier respective mentors to leave the ring, as those two superstars will compete in the first ever NXT match next!
> Commercial Break < Ezekiel Jackson (w/ Tony Atlas) def. Evan Bourne (w/ Ricky Steamboat) - A classic battle of strength against speed, and David vs. Goliath in the night's opening bout. Jackson struggled to keep up with Bourne, who was benefitting greatly from the advice of Steamboat at ringside, who was warning him to try and keep away from the 'Guayanese Goliath.' However, it was Tony Atlas' mentoring that proved to be better, with Atlas telling Jackson to wait for Bourne to try and come to him, which he did, and from there it was all Jackson, with the match ending via the Book of Ezekiel not long after.
Jackson had his arm raised by the referee, and by Tony Atlas, collecting his first win in the competition here tonight. Steamboat helped Bourne out of the ring, telling him that he did a good job, and will beat Jackson next time!
Backstage, The Hart Dynasty are walking with thier shared mentor, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, who is telling them what a great job they did last night on RAW. The Miz walks by, telling them both to enjoy thier victory, as its the last time they'll ever win a match against him. They laugh, telling him he looks like a loner with no Big Show, and no mentor by his side. Outraged, Miz challenges one of the twosome to match later on in the night, with Tyson Kidd stepping forward to accept the challenge, the match set for later in the night!
> Commercial Break < NXT returns with Matt Striker in the ring, saying he will now interview one of the competitors in the competition, the Intercontinental Champion Drew McIntyre! McIntyre then makes his way out with his mentor, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. Piper says it's his biggest regret in his WWE career that he never managed to get further than holding the championship McIntyre has now, and so when he heard about the great new concept of WWE NXT on Tuesday Night's, he knew he had to offer his services as a mentor to fellow countryman McIntyre before he made the wrong choice, and chose someone else. McIntyre smiles, saying that with one of the greatest Superstars of all time in Roddy Piper by his side, he can't lose in this competition. Striker then says that the WWE Board of Directors has decided that next week, McIntyre will have to prove his mettle, and defend the Intercontinental Championship here on NXT against the winner of a six man battle royal that's coming up right now! Piper and McIntyre are up in arms, protesting, but it's to no avail as the Battle Royal gets underway.
John Morrison wins the six man Battle Royal - Not a bad battle royal here, the fans backing the two faces in contest, Kofi Kingston, and John Morrison, more than anybody else. The battle royal wasn't that long, but it did the job, with Zack Ryder going over and out first, and then a key point of the match, The Legacy's partnership completely falling to pieces as Rhodes and DiBiase eliminated each other, and then brawled to the back, having to be seperated by thier fathers and mentors. This left Kingston, Morrison, and Ziggler, who managed to get an elimination by tossing Kofi Kingston out, before being tossed out himself by Morrison, who by eliminating Ziggler won the match!
Morrison warned the man who took the Intercontinental Championshiip from him four months ago, Drew McIntyre, that he intended to take the Championship back next week. McIntyre raised the championship, with Piper yelling at Morrison that he isn't worthy of the Intercontinental Championship, let alone a World Championship. Tito Santana congratulates his Superstar, John Morrison, telling him to take the bull by the horns next week and take back the gold.
> Commercial Break < Tyson Kidd (w/ David Hart Smith, and Bret Hart) def. United States Champion The Miz - A great way to close out this, the first edition of NXT, with a solid encounter between two talents who are both fantastic in thier own ways. Miz did have control most of the match, managing to keep the very pacey Kidd grounded, as well as annoying a lot of the fans in attendance by bragging about his awesomeness at every occasion he could. However in the ends, the bragging proved to be his downfall, as Miz tried to brag about his dominance over Kidd to Bret Hart, with Kidd responding by nailing Miz with a spinning heel kick, and following it up with the Code Blue as he got to his feet, before with encouragement from Bret Hart, locking him in the Sharpshooter for the victory!
Kidd celebrates by throwing his fists up in the air, before being joined by David Hart Smith, and Bret Hart in the middle of the ring. Miz holds his back, and clutches his many championships close to his chest, as the fans wonder whether Miz does need a legendary mentor after all. NXT closes with Miz storming up the ramp, and the Hart Dynasty posing in the ring to the delight of the fans.WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT 2010 © LOG ON TO NXT.WWE.COM TO VOTE FOR WHO YOU WANT TO SEE ADVANCE IN THE COMPETITION NOW!

Cool first show, I disagree with mosyt guys as I like the all the mentors Piper and Drew rocks I don't even like Drew but I want to see what you do with the pairing, I wish the Hart Dynasty had seperate legends maybe a split will happen in the series with Smith keeping Bret and Tyson maybe having someone else maybe even Neihart, nice opening to explain, would have preferred Evan to go over not a huge fan of the mentors telling them stuff throughout the match at least that what it seems like, nice main event build up, the interview was a good idea, although challenges are awful I reacon you could include them in this it would give each guy air time which makes it fair for voting, cool to see JoMo win I'm not in love with him unlike other members but I like his work, Tito doesn't suit JoMo at all would have been cool for him to have a cocky heel mentor, although I'm not a fan of Kidd over Miz it makes sense if your going for the story of does he need a mentor, you really need to make it more clear that we need to click on the link to vote, not a fan of the voting system I feel like you'll only get a handfull of votes, good luck and please keep this up.

WWE NXT: Tuesday 6th April 2010...Figured you would play it safe and go for after WrestleMania XXVI to keep in continuity. Decent opening promo with Matt Striker introducing the WWE Superstars and their Legends, but it still seems like Striker has no right to be showing the ropes to the Superstars. It's almost like the ultimate patronization. Ezekiel Jackson beating Evan Bourne is fine, no problem there. I hope to see Zeke get far in the competition. The Miz and Tyson Kidd to follow up from the Hart Dynasty beating ShoMiz last night, is decent booking and that is a nice touch indeed, kudos on that. Drew McIntyre and Roddy Piper is an interesting combination, and wow looking forward to this WWE Intercontinental Championship defense; it will upgrade the prestige of NXT but it'd be ridiculous for McIntyre to lose the belt. Hate the battle royal not main eventing though, I feel for a battle royal, it would have had most touch main eventing. You could easily have gotten away with Miz and Kidd being the filler match point on the show. Lastly, Kidd beating Miz is fine, but as cleanly as the Sharpshooter seems ridiculous. Does Miz not have a Legend? Overall, it was a mixed opening show to the competition. I feel like this is still ultimately patronizing to the Superstars, and don't get why Miz doesn't have a Legend. I also fail to see how the Legends fit into the show other than Bret Hart and Roddy Piper. Give them some air time as well as the Superstars. But overall, I'm thinking this is a really failed experiment from the getgo, it just seems really embarrassing to see the Superstars booked as Rookies.

-Jackson over Bourne was definitely expected despite Bourne's good effort. -Morrison winning the battle is great. I really hope he wins this NXT thing. -Kidd winning here was a shock but sort of realistic. Good call here to end NXT. -Good show; can't wait to see this advance.

I like the majority of the pairings, especially McIntyre/Piper for obvious reasons. Not surprised to see Jackson go over Bourne as I can see him going further in the competition than Evan. I like the idea of a battle royal and I like that Morrison won. However, I feel that the battle royal would have been a better main event than Tyson Kidd vs. The Miz. What I don't get is why The Miz is on NXT? Is the storyline that nobody wants to be paired with him because he's an egomaniac? I like the interactiveness of voting - but I just can't see you getting alot of votes. You should just pick who goes home yourself.

For some reason the link works, but the pm didn't send. "username does not exist," or something like that.
Overall, good first show, Shifty. I'll be keeping a close eye.

I don't know why nobody understands Miz not having a mentor. It is the choice of the superstars who they want to mentor them... and Miz chose no mentor because of his ego. Simple as that.
That said, i don't like that any mentors are there. If this was just a show with that roster with the idea being that one of them would get a world title shot from this, fine. But to have mentors with guys who are clearly not rookies... is silly.
Before NXT1 started, i set up a version much like this... Filled with undercard guys and guys who werent being used much and it was a lot of fun. This reminds me of that... Minus the unnecessary mentors.
