Congrats to the gay community. Hopefully there will be douchebaggery if the gay soldiers do decide to be open.

The Joint Chief Adm. Mike Mullen has already said that if a straight person doesn't like it, they can be discharged.

lol, I thought we already had " gays " in the army? Women, before they were allowed to serve, actually disguised themselves so they could join and fight. Well this repeal makes sure that gays do not have to wear a disguise.

I hope John McCain dies a slow and very painful death. that is all. Someone was commenting about McCain during the passing of the bill and they said "John McCain is rolling over in his grave."

That isn't exactly it...DADT was more of a...well, the name is pretty self-explanitory. Gay persons do serve in the military, they just can't let it known. In the same aspect, straight men and women aren't exactly outwardly-straight. But they can't talk about their husband/wife back home. Straight soldiers could, gay soldiers could not. Ah, I never thought about it that way. sry. I also apologize for misspelling "explanatory," but since it's been quoted, there's no use in fixing it.

McCain just sounds bitter about every thing these days. He's still bitter about 2008. Whether it's his campaign losing thanks to a woman or losing to a black man, I'm not sure which.

That's the easiest way to get yourself killed anyway. DOn't you watch war movies?

Well, that's great.
I appreciate all men and women serving in the military; gay or straight.

A great step towards the "legalization" of REAL freedom.

A great step towards the "legalization" of REAL freedom. The Republicans hate it, because now it leaves only two things left for gay people. Marriage and ENDA. I know you don't like either. Argument I saw made earlier for marriage outside of it being a fundamental right that we should have was "How are we now going to deny these soldiers, who will be treated as equals, the right to marry their partner?"
