Recently, UFC middleweight Wanderlei Silva stated that he "killed" fellow UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen in the gym when they trained together once at Xtreme Couture. In response, the always loquacious Sonnen fired back with numerous posts on his Twitter account. Sonnen posted the following tweets: - "You killed who? I was taking it easy on you. Ya looked like Tammy Faye Baker. I went easy so that new face of yours wouldn’t fall off." - "More guys have worked on your face than it took to build the Pyramids. You look like Lisa Rinna w/a Leprechaun beard, you fool." - "You are a walking punchline. Go fight what’s left of Sakuraba in an alley behind a sushi place in Tokyo for 10 Yen apiece." - "If it wasn’t for me, you would be thrashing around the jungle w/a blowgun trying’ to catch breakfast." - "So a word to the UNWISE. DON’T TALK ABOUT ME. You don’t have the words, I DO. You just got burried. Now run along or I’ll do worse tomorrow." - "Wanna talk some more about killing me in the gym, y’idiot?" - "You’re lucky your brother Joe’s the matchmaker or you’d be sellin’ barbecued monkey on the street in Manaus." The two initially had a brief exchange of words during the week of UFC Fight Night 22 in mid-September. While riding in a van together through the Austin, Texas area, the site of UFC Fight Night 22, Silva warned Sonnen to be more respectful to Brazilian MMA fighters. Silva was referencing Sonnen's words towards UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva leading up to their fight at UFC 117: Silva vs. Sonnen, where Sonnen made several derogatory remarks about Silva. A potential Wanderlei Silva vs. Chael Sonnen bout has been rumored to possibly take place in the Spring, but nothing has been made official. I LOVE Wanderlei Silva. Huge, longtime fan of his.
But Jesus, Chael Sonnen is hilarious. I wish he'd coach The Ultimate Fighter. Can you imagine, 13 weeks(or however the hell long the season is) of nothing but hilarious Chael Sonnen quotes about everyone? Hell, I'd pay to watch that.
The Sakuraba and Jungle quotes had me rolling

I seriously don't think Silva would be able to keep his cool coaching alongside chael sonnen.
I would love to see that fight. All forums are saying Wandy would lose but I would NEVER count out Wanderlei.

Wanderlei is a good guy, but will go balls-out apesh*t if his buttons are pushed. And Sonnen would collectively do just that, every episode, for the entire season. It would literally be must watch TV.

Chael Sonnen is the best pro-wrestling heel in MMA today, and 13 weeks of him goading Silva on TUF will create an awesome hype, that will either see Chael shut up and the fans are happy, or he backs it up, and goes back into title contention

He makes me laugh so hard that he realized he did not have the ability to beat Anderson Silva so he cheated like he has been for 2 years (the time he started to beat really good fighters). He is kinda a joke among any MMA fighter. Everyone is laughing at him and thinks he is a fool.

If steroids could make you a champion, Kevin Randleman, Josh Barnett & Ken Shamrock would be the greatest fighters of all time. Anderson Silva got exposed. He's not "P4P King" like everybody thinks. Dan Henderson pointed out his blatant failure to defend takedowns and Chael implemented it. Deal with it. Don't be a butthurt Anderson Silva fan because he was horribly exposed by a guy who he was supposed to beat via a fundamental part of the game. If Chael had learned to defend the triangle, he'd be the champion right now. Anderson was lucky in a way that he was in that fight against a guy with such terrible sub defense. It takes a great wrestler, who is strong and can defend the subs to beat Silva. Chael had 2 out of 3 for 23:30. And he'd have 2 out of the 3 in a rematch. By the way, nobody was/is laughing at him. Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami both stuck up for him actually. The only person laughing would be someone like Josh "Q-Tip" Koscheck, who seems to like to trashtalk/make fun of people. But he's sure as hell in no position to laugh at anybody now. But man that testosterone helped him so much! If it helps out so much, he must be running through everybody like a hot knife through butter and be undefeated........... |

So it wasn't like he took them for 1 fight and lost. If Sonnen had not taken steroids he would not have been in that fight in the first place. That is what I am saying. I honeslty have no idea how good of a fighter Sonnen is without taking steroids. Fact of the matter is, he has admittidly taken them for 2 years. I would like to here your rebutle towards this though. Because I don't need to hug Silva's nuts because he was "exposed" by Henderson (who lost by the way  ) because at the end of the day he won. Kos "Q tip" lost. Yep he did. I admit that. He lost to one of the best in the world. But he got their clean and fought (although lost) clean, he has nothing to be embarased of. He went out fought his ass off and lost. But he did it clean.. Just like Jon, like Thiago, Hughes, Hardy. They all lost but did it clean. |

You have no idea what a joke he has become.
Ken Shamrock, Josh Barnett are both former UFC champions and 1 a hall of famer, so he is actually considered one of the greatest of all time. Which is more than Sonnen has ever been.
I would love to see a clean Sonnen fight though, because I do believe he has talent. How much talent? That is what he has to dedicate himslf to and show.

I love how people discredit Silvas win against Sonnen....
the whole "well if Sonnen didn't lose by the same f***ing move he has lost to ten times before he would be champion" arguement is weak as f***.
Silva walked out in a motherf***ing gi! What the f*** do you think thegameplan was? To submit Sonnen, jackass.
I am just so tired of hearingthe same sh**. Silva has won every way possible. UD, Ko, Tko, Sub And a come from behind victory but STILL people are waiting to see him fail...why is that?

Patrick... check out the interview with Chael Sonnen on the second page of the "Watch Chael Sonnen's PED Suspension Appeal Now" thread, before condemning him.
I think it is unfair to say Sonnen was "juiced-up" or that he cheated... from what I can gather, due to a medical condition, he has been legally taking testosterone for quite a while and also has a lifetime clearance explaining his situation. It's just that the commission that tested him before the Silva fight were unaware of this "officially" and reported the unusual testosterone levels - even though Sonnen had medical clearance and told them that the test they were doing would come back positive. If anything, it sounds as though it's the commission's mix-up and that they didn't know all the facts.
I'm not a huge Sonnen mark or anything, but I don't think the situation is a simple/clear-cut one... there are too many fine points and none of us know the exact details.

You know, Chael may have "exposed" Silva for his lack of Takedown defense, but let's be fair to Silva here. He did have a broken rib, which effects a lot of things that could have very well resulted in Chael's easy attempts to take Silva down.
Also, Chael "exposing" Silva doesn't change a damn thing about:
- Silva leaving at the Champ
- Chael having almost 5 full rounds of control, and still not being able to stop the fight.
- Chael submitting to a submission that Silva is known for, as is Chael...considering he's tapped to it several times.
- Chael chokes in title opportunities.
