- Thanks to Clive for the following spoilers from tonight's WWE tapings in Tucson, Arizona:
Dark Match:
* Percy Watson defeated Chavo Guerrero.
SmackDown, Airing Friday:
* World Heavyweight Champion Edge beat Kane in a Last Man Standing Match to open the show.
* Kofi Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler to win the WWE Intercontinental Title. After the match, Dolph attacked Kofi. Vickie Guerrero demands a restart and the match resumes. Kofi wins again.
* Backstage segment with Drew McIntyre and Kelly Kelly.
* Drew McIntyre vs. Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes to determine a new #1 contender to the World Title is next. Vickie Guerrero comes out and adds Dolph Ziggler to the match.
*Dolph Ziggler pinned Cody to become the number one contender. Late in the match, Wade Barrett came out and attacked Big Show.
*They aired another new Ezekiel Jackson promo pushing that he's coming soon to Smackdown.
*Michelle McCool pinned Kelly Kelly. LayCool continued to attack Kelly but Drew McIntyre hit the ring and cleared it to make the save.
*Best of Three Falls: Alberto del Rio vs. Rey Mysterio. Del Rio avoids the 619 and nails the rolling armbreaker for Fall One. Rey comes back to win the second fall. Del Rio scores the pin in Fall Three after Ricardo holds Rey's leg down. Rey destroys Ricardo after.

Disappointed Kofi won the title again, I was expecting Swagger to get it. Pretty shocked with the triple threat match as well. None of the three were expected, but I'm backing McIntyre to win.

It's a shame to see Dolph's reign end, it was the best we've seen in years. I suppose I'll be ok with it though if he's pushed up the card now.

I could see Dolph being added to the No.1 Contender match and winning. EDIT: Okay, that's insane. I just looked at the updated spoilers again and it says Vickie adds him to the match. Crazy. |

So WWE is content with Smackdown having a midcarder in the title match and not RAW?
Not a big fan of Kofi being the IC Champion again. Been there done that...

Glad they blew off Edge/Kane. Ziggler as #1 contender? I LIKE. I LIKE. I enjoyed a match that he and Edge had on Smackdown a little while back.  I like Ziggler a lot. |

Belt on Kofi makes sense. He is massively over again and out of Orton's dog house.
Ziggler being #1 contender is a great way to elevate a well deserved wrestler. Ziggler has come a long way. Not only does the feud have money with the Vickie sub plot, but Edge/Ziggler have great chemistry as evident from their Smackdown match a few weeks ago.
Wade Barrett? I am hoping he is moved to Smackdown. Barrett/Big Show could have some potential and a feud with Edge would be good as well.
Shocked by Del Rio going over Rey Rey though. Figured Rey had this one in the bag.

So some bad news with some good news for Ziggler. Drops the belt to Kofi [why he was champ before Ziggler and not the best imo] but at least he gets a title match [by winning what seems to be a pretty good match] with Edge at the RR most likely! That should be awesome.  The diva match will probably be short but at least they had a match. Drew helping Kelly is nice to make him more of a face but I still don't know if I like this. So happy Edge won against Kane. Now please make Kane go away for a while. Wade on SD is random and wtf why attack Show? That should be a pretty boring feud. No Swagger is kinda sad but I guess he will be on Superstars. ADR winning the 2 out of 3 falls is cool. I was kinda expecting him to get the RR title shot but I guess not. I guess one good thing with Kofi winning the IC belt is that it now makes ADR the likely next IC champ. That will be great. |
