Considering I'm an arms salesman that takes the cake I'm also pro life pro gay rights even though I'm pretty far right That shouldn't define you. It shouldn't be the only issue you care about. I really only see you post when guns are brought up. We could use more people to champion civil liberties in this country (and on this board).

I only post when guns are brought up because I believe most perceive them dead wrong where on most issues I see both sides of everything not the only thing I care about. Just how I feel

If Jesus came and ran for President, he wouldn't be allowed to. Would he be on the ticket with Santa or running against him?

UMC continues to care for victims of the tragic shooting a week ago. One patient has been discharged today, two patients remain in good condition.
U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords remains in critical condition. Her recovery continues as planned.
A surgical procedure (tracheotomy) was performed this morning on the Congresswoman to replace the breathing tube that ran down her throat with a tracheotomy tube in her windpipe, protecting her airway and freeing her from the ventilator. Surgeons also inserted a feeding tube (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy [PEG]) to provide nutritional support. These procedures are not uncommon among brain-injured patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
A media briefing to provide a full update on patients’ conditions is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17 at Kiewit Auditorium, Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Ave. www.azumc.com/

Good news, they should know soon if she is able to speak.

Two of the remaining patients were upgraded to 'good' condition; and Giffords was upgraded to 'serious' today.
No info on if she can speak yet, but I don't know typical time lines on things like that. Maybe info during tomorrow's media briefing?

On ABC right now Diane Sawyer is doing an interview with Gabby's husband.
I'm about to cry.

Gabby stood today by herself.
She also sat in a chair and looked out the window.

And...
Gloria Giffords writes that her daughter shows improvement every day "and shows higher levels of comprehension and complex actions.
"Yesterday, when Mark came back from speaking at her aide's memorial service, she reached up and untied his tie and undid the top button to his shirt," according to the e-mail.
"Last night, she took his iPod and scrolled through all the pictures. Early this morning she began to read cards made for her by some 4th graders! Her unbandaged eye tracked the lines, she opened the cards and turned them over reading the back. Mark's gotten pages of large print of Harry Potter's 1st book for her to hold and read."
The e-mail also says that Giffords gave her husband "a 20-minute neck and back rub."

This woman's story in the aftermath of tragedy just kicks ass. From the intern who helped on the scene, to awesome doctors who worked quickly, to the insane amount of luck she has to have, and how strong-willed someone also has to be to do their part in recovery. It's just incredibly admirable any way you look at it.
