Thanks JSYN The Introduction: Let's catch up to speed where we are in the life of the multi-time World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle's life.
In May of 2006, I was placed on the third brand of the WWE called "ECW" and I personally felt this could be a good change for me. It would get me off the road and home more, plus it would give me time to heal some nagging injures. Boy... I was wrong!
I was working just as hard, if not harder then when I was on RAW or Smackdown due to the entire brand seemingly on my back. It was the same type work that Smackdown and RAW were for a little while there with television tapings, house shows, pay-per-views... so much for a break!
It got to the point where I was really banged up and having personal problems, to the point where my wife Karen told me that if I didn't leave the WWE then she would leave me. How much does that suck? Oh, that doesn't suck worse than the face that Karen and I are expecting our second child in September/October time-frame.
The WWE tippy-toed around my situation for weeks claiming that I couldn't get time off until it took them to see that I was a "risk" to myself and other talent during a match with Rob Van Dam [non-televised] where I pulled my abdominal muscle off the pelvic bone, pulled my groin, and on top of that I blew out my hamstring.
It seriously took three injures in a match for management to see what I had been telling them: I need time off. We reached the decision that the best thing for me to do was go home... and not just for a week or so... for good.
On August 26th, 2006... I was released from World Wresting Entertainment.

Seems interesting. I'd like to see what you do with this. You've got serious competition with Red Dragon & KvE.

August 28th, 2006 [/color] I have decided to start this journal just in case I decide to write a book in the future, I would have the hard part done for the most part. I'm officially gone from World Wrestling Entertainment and I don't think it has truly sunk in that I'm home... for good.
I'm not saying I won't miss working with everyone over at the WWE but it was so nice waking up today and knowing I didn't have to get on a flight, I could spend time with my daughter, Kyra and Karen, that is between the phone calls from my manager asking about appearing on certain radio shows. I have declined all radio appearances until I have something to talk about, I just can't put into words yet how relieved I am to be out of the WWE.
It's not to say that I didn't enjoy my time there, because I did.. it's the fact that I have missed being home for the littler things and with my second child on the way, it was very important for me to be home more than I have in the past. I don't want to spend too much time on this day since it's a very beautiful day here.

Nice first update. Glad he left on good terms. Seems to have his mind made up. I'll have to nitpick and say we need something to keep us coming back. Having family time is good and all, but after one or two entries of that, I'll be bored. Will read next entry.

August 30th, 2006: It really sucks that Kyra is about to start back school while I have all the free time in the world, Karen and I took her school shopping today. This is the first time in years that I actually was apart of something like this, it was amazing to see her face light up when I told her that I was coming with them as I originally didn't think I could make it with the WWE work-load.
I had my phone off the entire day to avoid the calls from a lot of the WWE talent along with friends outside the business. It's not that I don't want to talk about the situation, but I just want to spend time with my family before getting into the grove again.
Karen and I also picked out a few new things for the Nursery while we were out and about, I'm so glad that I'm not going to be the only man in the house since in a matter of weeks, I'll be a new dad of a baby boy. Man, time flies... it feels like yesterday that we got the news.
I turned my cell phone back on and looked over my voice-mails, nothing important until I reached the final message:
“Hello, Kurt... this is Jeff Jarrett, from TNA Wrestling. We have an opportunity we would like to discuss with you. If you could give me a call back at ***-****, I would greatly appreciate. Thanks!
I heard a faint sigh behind me and I already regret putting it on speaker phone. Well, this day just took an interesting turn...

August 31st Karen pleaded with me not to call Jeff Jarrett back but I want to be respectful enough to at the very least listen to what he has to say. What is the harm in listening to his offer? I called him back but there wasn't an answer but I got his voice-mail so I left him a message regarding his message yesterday.
Jeff called me back maybe an hour later and apologized for missing me call. I quickly explained to him that I wasn't really looking to get back into wrestling this soon after my release, Jarrett insured me that I might want to give their offer a listen. “When can we meet?” was the question... and I honestly had no answer. I kindly explained that Kyra was starting back to school in a matter of days so I wanted to be here for the next few days. Apparently there was a mis-understanding... they wanted to come to me, not the other way around. Jeff explained how he knows what I am going through regarding my marriage and kids, which doesn't surprise me for someone who was born into the wrestling business.
I told Jeff that tomorrow would be fine for him to come up to which he agreed stating that he and Dixie Carter [TNA President] would be on the first flight out tomorrow morning. We said our goodbyes and now I have to tell Karen that I have agreed to meet with them. I know it sounds like I don't care about Karen's opinion because I do, there are just some decisions that I have to make alone.
The conversation between Karen and myself was far from a fight but far from a conversation we would have in public. In the end, Karen saw my point of view [or at least said she did] and told me the decision was mine in the end. I called up my manager to tell him the plans and he wanted to join the meeting tomorrow, but I said it wasn't needed since there was no obvious signs that I would be signing a contract.
Karen's parents came over for dinner and they have to know that I could be going back into wrestling due to the looks I was getting. Well, tomorrow is just another day...let's hope this meeting with Jeff and Dixie goes well, regardless of the decision I make.

My interest is growing with each and every entry. Exactly what is needed in a great diary. I would've like to see the WWE to at least leave a message, though. Makes it a bit more interested. Very good so far. No flaws that I've been able to see.

This is going pretty good, looking forward to what lurks next, I am impressed that he left the WWE on good terms: Kurt was known well for being a sh*tstirr in the media back here, so I would love to see him throw some 'may return to WWE'/'WWE sucked' comments in there for realism. Looking forward though, please don't rush him into action in TNA too soon.

September 1st I woke up very early today to get some time in at the gym before I had to meet with Jeff and Dixie. Karen and I sat down again to talk about the possibility of the me returning to wrestling. Karen threatened to divorce me if I didn't get out of the WWE and here I am, looking at the possibility of rejoining pro-wrestling just days after my release? She once again brushed it off in the sense of the decision was mine, but she hasn't given me a straight up answer on the situation. I guess in the end... it's my call.
The meeting went very well with both Jeff and Dixie being very respectful and never once implied that I had to join but did lay an offer on the table that if I would sign I would make a very respectable about of money for half the dates I would work with had I still been working for Vince. The money wasn't the same as the WWE would have offer but I understand TNA isn't the same as the WWE especially with their travel life.
And now I have to make one of the biggest decisions I might ever make in my life from this point forward: Sign with TNA Wrestling... or turn down a great offer and have no way to provide for my family? I told them that I really needed to think it over before making a life changing decision, we shook hands and parted ways.
It's about 1AM here and I haven't made my decision regarding TNA, it's keeping me up fretting over it. It's a great deal, a great company with a plan, great bosses, but what is keeping me from signing? It could be the unknown factor of what I could be walking into.
Karen woke up about 4AM and couldn't find me, I guess I shouldn't be sitting on the back porch at 4AM... regardless, she told me not to fret over the situation and if my heart was in it, to sign with TNA Wrestling. I guess that's what I needed, a little reassurance as I am signing with TNA Wrestling. I'll call Jeff later today to work it all out. --------------------------------- [OOC: I know this seems like Angle is being a coward in the situation, but I really want to put him over as a real person instead of just in the mindset of just worrying about wrestling]

Seems like this diary is going by quickly. Anxious to see how Jeff reacts, and how the company uses him.
