My sister's friend could no longer keep his dog and needed to give it away. So she volunteered to take it.
It is a chihuahua. It has the beadiest eyes.
We had to get rid of our other dogs as we moved into an apartment and they only allow dogs under 25 pounds.
We've decided to name her Bea Arthur.

I have a Chihuahua, too. We've had it for a year and a half, and got him when he was 2 weeks old or so. I remember he was the size of a mouse and we had to give him milk. He is a very nice dog, but we are having trouble, because he loves to pee inside of the house, despite us trying to make him do it outside, and he's always getting out and going on the streets. He's been like that for 3 weeks or so, and he just comes back to eat and sleep. We got another dog 2 weeks ago, whose breed I don't know how to spell in English :-P and yeah, he is as nice as the chihuahua, but he stays here, and well, he pees outside.

That's cool but sucked that you have to lose your other animals.
If you can take a pic of her.

Wow. I actually have a similar story.
(Girl I grew up with had to let her chihuahua go as she is going back to school and her husband is starting to work out of town. He's 3, will be 4 years old this year. Housebroken. Great dog.)
Good stuff. How big is he? I swear mine has to be a mix; she swears he's full blooded. He's bigger than my brother's rat terrier.

Try and get pictures tomorrow.
She's small. She is 1 1/2 years old but we have a pretty small cat and she's even smaller than the cat.

I really don't know what to do. I'm not sure we can keep her.
She is not getting along with our cats at all.

You know, it's tough with dogs and cats because they're going to fight in the beginning. The best thing you can do is try to keep them separated or have "controlled encounters" for awhile.

We had a dog before in our old place and the cats were there and they got along just fine. This dog just likes to antagonize the cats.

You just need to discipline it when it does something bad. Throw the dog in a kennel like a "time out" if it's harassing the cats.

So you had to get rid of the other dogs? I'd be well p-o'd And a chihuahua is way too small, in a dark lit room I'd probably squash it

Let the dog get scratched up a bit by the cats, then he won't antagonize them anymore.
Our 90 lb yellow lab was afraid of our 10 lb cat lol.

The cats hiss at her but then she just runs to me and she shakes pretty bad but then a little bit later she'll go back and try to mess with the cats.
