deaths/tributes aside, i'd say benoit's title win was pretty emotional, eddie's title win too.
i think the biggest one for me though, was the end of WCW. i found that really hard. still do to an extent.

First off, name calling is against the TOS, so wise up there junior. And second, I was just voicing MY opinion on the murdering creep. If you don't like it, TOUGH. Deal with it and move on. You guys want to keep this thread clean and all about wrestling, eh?? Fine with me. Just leave a ing child murderer out of it. That's all I'm saying. You want us to leave Benoit out of it? Tough. Deal with it and move on. You want to voice your opinion, go ahead, but don't attack someone else for voicing theirs and then be all defensive when someone attacks yours. There was never a more emotional moment in wrestling than when Benoit and Eddie hugged in the middle of the ring at Wrestlemania 20, World and WWE Heavyweight Champions respectively. If anything, it even becomes more emotional due to what happened to both men. I'm not saying I don't think Benoit turned out to be a piece of poop, because I do, but it doesn't take away from the emotionally charged moment that was. Also, I'll go with Ric Flair asking Shawn Michaels to put him out of his misery. Also tarnished due to Flair wrestling again, but what a moment that was. Exactly. I fully acknowledge that Benoit was a sick and disgusting human being, but to discredit the work he did in the ring prior to the incident is simply a choice, not everyone has to take that path. I simply don't. Chris Benoit was involved in some of my fondest wrestling related memories, many of which I was live in person for. If you think I should just completely erase those things from my memory, you're sadly mistaken. Are those memories tainted? Certainly, to a particular degree, but his actions don't suddenly negate his wrestling ability. People still discuss O.J. Simpson's career, how the hell is this any different?

First off, name calling is against the TOS, so wise up there junior. lmfao. Both sides of the never ending Benoit argument just need to learn how to ing accept different opinions. It doesn't make you a better person if you think Benoit is scum, but it does make you look bad when you bash a guy (which is against the TOS ) for expressing his respect for Chris Benoit, the wrestler. -- Anyway, the Guerrero/Benoit moment at WMXX is definitely one of the most emotional moments. It's so sad to see how it has changed though. Going from a happy, heart-warming moment to just plain depressing. Both men went to early, even if Benoit killed himself. Ric and Shawn's retirements. Rey Mysterio's whole Road to WrestleMania. I was 12 back then and a huge Mysterio fan. It was also before I discovered WF, which as much as I love it, changed the way I look at pro-wrestling. There's obviously more emotional moments, but I don't want to make a huge post. I will mention Punk cashing in for the first time. I marked the out, big time.

As I sit here, getting songs for my characters on Smackdown vs Raw 2011, I'm listening to the Macho Man music, and whenever I listen to it..it brings me back to being 5 years old, and a moment that stuck out to me for years and years. When Macho Man lost at Wrestlemania 7. He was a beaten and broken 'man' after that match. Elizabeth, from the crowd comes down and he takes a swing or two at her until he finds out it's her...and, I dunno. Something about that 'moment' was just amazing to me. Macho Man vs Warrior part 2, career ending matchSkip to the ten minute mark and watch from then on (although the whole match is amazing) and just watch how it plays out. I used to think wrestling was real back in this day, and I remember being sad while I was so young. This is still my favorite Wrestlemania. For me the saddest part of that is that they (Elizabeth and Sherri) passed away WAY too soon.

First off, I wasn't bashing anybody. I was simply voicing MY opinion on the sick freak. And second, wouldn't you know it, ANOTHER brainwashed Benoit fan comes out. Another guy who thinks Benoit was 2 seperate people...Come on man...Not again.. Could SOMEONE please tell me what the difference was between "Chris Benoit - The Wrestler" and "Chris Benoit - The Murderer"?? I only saw one guy, not sure about the rest of you. You guys might need to get your eyes checked, because he looked like the same sick freak that killed off his family and hung himself to me. There is NO difference between Benoit "the wrestler" and Benoit the murderer. None what-so-ever. One and the same. Can't believe you guys still praise the guy and find compassion for him after what he did. I'm sorry, but that's ing disgusting and makes me want to puke. For doing so, you are completely disrespecting the memory of both Daniel and Nancy. You should remember them WAY before their killer. You guys are something else....I'll never get it....And some of you on here are fathers for fu*k sakes and yet, you STILL defend him and find compassion for him...Wow...I don't even know what to say about that...Makes me sick. Just take a long, hard look at them and just remember the guy you STILL idolize and think of as some wrestling hero, viciously murdered them in cold blood.

This. 100% this. Eddie is one of my favorites all time, and when he won that title, my god I was so happy. R.I.P. Eddie.

Yeah aside from death's and stuff I'm gonna go with Eddie winning the WWE title... same with Edge winning his first because he's another person who deserved it.

I fail to see where people are finding compassion for him, calling him a wrestling hero, or even idolizing him. I'm doing nothing of the sort. There were other people involved in those matches, and those moments as well. Do you think Kurt Angle, for example, is going to forget the fact that he had one of the greatest matches of his career, and possibly of the decade at Royal Rumble 2003 just because he faced Chris Benoit?

Do you think Kurt Angle, for example, is going to forget the fact that he had one of the greatest matches of his career, and possibly of the decade at Royal Rumble 2003 just because he faced Chris Benoit? Considering he is religious, I'm sure he would definitely want to forget all about his match with Benoit. I think you are forgetting all about the time when he appeared in the original ECW and they did that segment with The Sandman by crucifying him on the cross. Kurt Angle was so upset about that, he got up and left the arena and threatened to sue if they showed him or mentioned his name anywhere near that show. So yeah, taking that into consideration, I would definitely believe that Kurt Angle would want to forget he ever had anything to do with Benoit. Especially when you also take into consideration that Kurt is a father too.

Kurt Angle interviews: October 6, 2010: “Unfortunately for the guys I wrestle, they tend to tire out due to my intensity. I really based it off a dear friend of mine, Chris Benoit, who I think matched my intensity." podcast.wrestling-radio.com/wraekurtangle.mp3"It's total bullshit. You can't erase Chris Benoit. It's like the company is blaming Chris Benoit for their problems."

^ Big deal. That's just talk and not alot of it either. I'm sure being the father figure that he is, deep down, Kurt Angle is sickened and disgusted by Benoit's actions no matter what he says in any interviews.
If he was as upset and disgusted as he said he was about the whole Sandman crucifixion, then I can only imagine how he truly feels about what Benoit did.

I met Kurt Angle once. He didn't say anything negative about Mr. Old School but with Kurt being a Christian and a devoted father I know deep down he thought that Mr. Old School was an obnoxious douchebag who can't accept that his opinion isn't and won't ever be universal opinion. Can't resort to anything more than name-calling, eh?? That's pretty sad. You silly fans...You are funny.

The deaths of wrestlers are always pretty emotional. Id also have to say when Hogan returned with the nWo . Also when Eddie won the world title. Triple H's return as the game. So many more, when Hogan lost to Warrior at WM 6 . When Macho Man won at WM 4 .Like I said so many.

I use the OJ theory with Benoit nowadays as well. Alot of my favorite moments and matches come with Benoit included, so I'm not just going to erase him like the 'E does.
I recently watched RR 2001 again and that has Benoit-Y2J in a ladder match on it, I still LOVE the match and think it's one of the best ladder matches ever, but when I look at Benoit I don't feel the same I did about him like I did from 95-07, infact I get uneasy and just think yup "bunghole killed himself and his family...great wrestler, but dear god you can't change what he did". Just a shame all-around.
BTW to answer this question on topic, Ric Flair's retirement from WWE ceremony would take my pick, however I think HBK's HOF induction's gonna top it.

Maybe there's a misunderstanding... I didn't see anyone praise Benoit, or say what he did to his family was okay in any way. Cause it wasn't. And this is by no means a Benoit HOF thread.
All people are people saying is that his moment at WM20 was emotional. At the time it meant something to people. I loved it but since the murders it doesn't mean the same to me that it once did. And it never will again. I'm sure it's that way for most fans.
And I'm not a delusional Benoit fan jumping to his rescue. I WAS a fan but I don't acknowledge him anymore. And I'm okay that WWE doesn't. I'm also okay with Mr. Old School calling him a nut.
So there's my two cents, I'm out.

Benoit winning the title, simply amazing. Yes it indeed was. Almost as amazing as when the news broke that he murdered his family and then hung himself. Pretty amazing stuff for sure. ;D Seriously though, here's another very emotional moment I know I'll never forget:

I am staying away from the Benoit nonsense.
Here is mine:
Picked it for obvious reasons... coming back from a career threatening injury.....the stories were out there that he may never come back. Quite emotional.
Honorable mentions:
Raw is Owen Eddie winning the World Title for the first time.....seeing that man hugging his mom post match. HHH's return to the Garden on 1/7/02 .....also from a tough injury HBK's Farewell on Raw
