Hey, I'm a college student who reads a lot, which means I've been spending money that I don't really have on books to educate myself. I am not in need of textbooks, but rather regular paperback books and such. I have tried amazon many times and while they do have some good deals on used books often they are still overpriced. Any suggestions?

Check local libraries, thrift stores, Goodwill, craigslist, garage sales & flea markets.

How is the library not the obvious option? Since you're in college the chances are you have one on campus, even if its a small school. If not there are public libraries that have books with no fees to check out unless you return them late.

have you tried chegg.com? you rent textbooks and other books for sometimes 50% the price of buying it. Then you ship it back to them when its due with their shipping label. I use it all the time.
Also check slickdeals.com. They always have people on their forums posting borders/ barnes and noble coupons.

www.scribd.comebooks.adelaide.edu.au/And if you're a college student your university library should give you access to not only hard copies of all their books, but access to some online databases as well. Penn State's online database is great.

Dunno where you live, but there's a chain that's popped up in the New England area (Mass and NH exclusively, I think) called Used Book Superstore. They have flat rate prices - hardcovers are $2.99, and paperbacks are $1.99. I've made it a habit of checking in once a week just to see what's new.
