Seems very humble about his beginnings now, whereas just a few years ago he was distancing himself as much as possible from wrestling and his "Rock" persona in general.
I believe he will be back. I just don't think it'll be "sooner than we think" like he says.

Empty promises. I'm bored of them, Rocky. QFT. And honestly, if he's not interested in a match, Im not interested in him. Call me selfish but tell me why in the world should I want to see one of the greatest of all time show up on RAW in the best shape of his life and NOT wrestle? Is it possible to write a worse story? Idiotic. Yeah, thats just what I want to see: The Rock return, have confrontations with numerous guys and know that none of it should be taken seriously because theres no match planned whatsoever. Money > Fans

The Rock Is My Favorite Wrestlers And One Of The Best Of ALL TIME So If He Wrestle That Will Be Cool To Me But If He's Like A GM Or Announcer That Will Be Ok

i consider my self one of the biggest Rock fans there is I would go as far to say that no one has had the complete package that he had ever I mean he was so fantastic on the mic just how exciting his matches were is often over looked. He worked great with whomever they put him with.
I do not feel that The Rock owes us the fans anything he moved on from wrestling and is doing a great job making movies he went out when he was on top not only that every time he left the WWE he did it putting someone over.
Now as big a Rock fan I am I wish he would stop saying how much he loves and misses the WWE he has moved on it fins but to keep acting like he would be in the WWE right away but there is something stopping him coming back is getting a bit old now. Like I said I love The Rock and would have a really hard time picking between him and HBK as who I consider the all time greatest in WWE history.
If he did come back even as a one time thing on RAW I would be like 12 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert. We don't need a match just get some jabroni talking trash in the ring Rock hits the ring spine buster, rock bottom, people elbow and thats all the fans would want.

Posting this to help people understand why he left. "I left the WWE because I had succeeded in accomplishing every goal I set to achieve. ...I've never done this before, but I will now because I feel it's important you know..let me share with you the goals I set for myself in the WWE so you can have a better understanding and perspective.. - become the youngest WWE World Champion - help set box office and attendance records in every arena in the country - help set PPV buy rate records ..the final two and my most important goals to achieve in wrestling: - become the most entertaining and electrifying performer the WWE had ever seen or will ever see again - take the brass ring of the WWE that Vince McMahon had faithfully allowed me to earn and take it places it had never gone before...to trailblaze...to break new ground...to achieve unprecedented greatness for not only for myself and the fans to enjoy...but for the business of professional wrestling itself and the WWE... A business and company that is in my blood and that I will love forever. ...I achieved these goals in the WWE at 30 years old and decided then to HUMBLY and QUIETLY step away and retire. ..and set my sights on another goal...a childhood dream...Hollywood." The days of him being an active competitor are long gone, but I'll gladly take any appearance he wishes to make for us.

We don't need a match just get some jabroni talking trash in the ring Rock hits the ring spine buster, rock bottom, people elbow and thats all the fans would want. Speak for yourself, not for me. I assume 20,000 fans at the 2008 Hall of Fame chanting "One More Match"... didnt want to see him wrestle? Fact is, whenever the question of a "return" is brought up, what everyone really means is "Will you wrestle again?". Sure people will enjoy him if he comes back and did his spiel, but when the dust settles, people will still be left hanging and pissed. I've seen the Rock Bottom before, Ive heard the catchphrases. It's exciting, but it's not interesting. If he came back, I want to see him have a reason and a motivation - not just bury some poor bastard. Dont confuse that with me saying "he owes us", but like I said, who would get long-lasting satisfaction of a stupid, small-scale return, where at the very most, a mid-carder will get whooped? Do you guys remember his promo on Smackdown last year? Maybe. Stuff like that is fun for the moment, but that's not memorable. Wanna know what is memorable? A blockbuster return match he can ride out on for as long as he pleases, to be remembered for years, and finally give closure and put an end to all the crap he and the fans have thrown at each other for years now.

I understand what your saying but for me it would be more than enough. He doesn't have the time where he can spend 6-8 weeks building something. LIke I said I would be more than happy with one last appearance on RAW doing just what I said. I know The Rock is a hell of a lot younger than Bret Hart and in much better health. But While I loved seeing the Hitman on RAW his match at mania was not very good I mean it is still amazing giving what he went through he got in the ring but he should have just gave Vince a few punches back breaker side Russian leg sweep a elbow drop if he could and then the sharpshooter and it would have been more than enough(that was not meant as a knock on Bret Hart). Granted Rock could still no doubt go and do a great match but why would he risk it. I am not trying to be an ass and start a argument as I can see your point. But I would rather a 5-10 minute segment on RAW than nothing at all.

so for the last 5 years he's basically went about saying he wants nothing to do with wrestling, he drops "The Rock" thing...etc. Now because his last movie was a BOMB, he's backpeddling and trying to create "Rock RAW" ?? Fact is...he's made 16 movies...of which only 4 grossed over 100 million (one of them being The Mummy Returns and other based on the greatest cartoon of all time...G.I. Joe) The guy is a good actor and I've enjoyed most of the movies I've seen him in...but he decided to turn his back on wrestling years ago and despite what HE thinks...he is not the greatest performer in wrestling history. He was never on top by himself. Stone Cold Steve Austin was always there even when Rock was on top. Dwayne seems to think a little high of himself because he "quietly" left wrestling to be a success in Hollywood. I'm not knocking him for his dreams or choices...but don't go around acting like you're humble & backpeddling because your last few movies tanked...and the next few don't look that promising. If anything, come back for your (deserved) HOF induction....let the WWE make another 3 Disc DVD set on your career, and hit the bricks.

Hopefully they can get him back to do an in ring promo with Austin or just interviews, in the build up to their rivalry DVD at the end of the year.

Wasn't the original plan for The Rock to be the GM of Raw?
Maybe thats why they been stretching the "anonymous" GM storyline.

Rock never promised to return to the ring, so I don't understand where the hate is coming from. At least he never closed his doors to us.

I love the Rock, but I have a hard time believing he'll make a nice return to the WWE in any length. I hope I'm wrong though.

it is easier to just not speculate and just mark out when it does actually happen. this
