Wrestlezone.com is reporting that Lex Luger may be inducted this year in Atlanta.
Many people probably figured his name would be considered, but I really like the story behind this. The past ten years of his life have been very chaotic and filled with alot of tragedy. Everybody is aware of his drug history which included the premature death of Miss Elizabeth. I do not think it is fair to soley blame him for what happened, but the end result was tragic and regrettable nonetheless.
Next came the drug charges which left him broke living in a one-bedroom apartment. The big blow was the stroke he fell victim to a few years ago. Lex suffered paralysis throughout much of his body. The man known for his Herculean physique now weighed 175 pounds and was confined to a wheelchair.
Then everything seemed to turn around for Lex. Like HBK, Sting and DiBiase, he found God and began a new phase of his life: one of faith and gratitude. Slowly, his physical condition improved. He has since regained much of his mobility and no longer even needs a cane to walk.
Personal opinions aside, Lex is an exemption of fate regarding wrestlers from yesteryear. There is no reason why he should not already be on that mouting list of dead wrestlers. He abused steroids, abused drugs, and has battled numerous personal demons along the way. Hawk, Rude, Perfect, Bossman, Davey, Eddie, the list goes on and on yet somehow Lex survived. He would probably tell you himself how lucky he feels to be alive today. Just hearing him in interviews it sounds like he is in top sprits, eternally grateful for the second chance at life.

I'm very happy for Luger. I know he has had issues, but I've always cheered for him in and out of the ring. This is the exclamation point to his story of redemption.

Lex back words is xel and if you turn the l side wats is a dash so that makes xe- now if you make the e longer you have a p that spells x-p now add a A and a C and you get X-Pac Then we can now confirm that the house the mystery man is entering is indeed a crack house. But like marino said, there is a feel good quality to this story. It would be nice to see Lex at the podium accepting his own award unlike so many other legends who are no longer around to do so.

Lex may never have been the best worker, but he was very entertaining and has a huge place in wrestling history. Luger is a great add for the HOF.

Wow, I never heard he regained his mobility.
Note for WWE: please induct more people who can speak clearly and don't lose their place in a story every five minutes, last year's installment was just sad.

Absolutely Luger was not the greatest technician, but he still made it work. This could easily be considered one of the greatest moments in WCW history. I was 10 when this happened and even re-watching it now brings back all of those great childhood memories.

Lex Lugar is on my list of worst wrestlers of all time. Lex Lugar has no business in the HOF. If you disagree with me please tell one match he had that was good. You can't because he never did. He was the worst all selling someone else's moves. The Lugar yell. OOOOOh. Legends figure at best for Lugar. The only way he should be at the HOF is to induct Sting.

Hulk Hogan is usually regarded as one of the worst in-ring wrestlers as well. I am not comparing Lex to Hulk, but they had similar styles. Both were not flashy and stuck to the basics, but they got the job done and most importantly the crowd always seemed to care about their matches. Lex was one of the bigger names in wrestling in the 90s. He was always involved in a big angle or classic wrestling moment: Four Horsemen, slamming Yoko on the Intrepid, the Lex Express hoopla, kick-starting the Monday Night Wars by showing up on the first Nitro and beating Hogan for the belt on Nitro. Let us not act as if the HoF is free of undeserving/borderline wrestlers already. Lex had name value and was usually always involved in important matches regardless if those matches weren't technical showcases.

Plus when it comes to "WCW" you think Flair, Sting, Luger, The Steiners, etc. Lex Luger was a HUGE part of wrestling history

I want to see Sting and Luger reinact Lugers Baptismal at 'Mania, with Sting dressed in full Crow gettup.
I'd order it for that.
