Dante Culpepper worked out for the Niners today
Well, maybe we can see if Ken Dorsey has some free time next week.

Also its tomorrow not today, Im thinking its Monday. From what Ive read Culpepper has said he was serious about getting back into the league and has dropped a lot of weight to get back to his draft weight and people say he's looking as good as he has. He can still sling the ball 60 yards. Cant be any worse then Alex Smith. Personally I wouldnt want T. Jackson. I think he's a horrible QB and Seattle fans will realize that soon enough. I mean even Minn took a corpse over him. Hasselbeck was a name I wish we would have went after but oh well. Carson Palmer was who I really wanted but it was out of our hands.

I mean, crazier things have happened. I thought Randall Cunningham was completely done for, before he showed back up in 1998 and went nuts. It's possible, not likely, but it's possible Daunte could have something left. But then again, that happening in San Fran is even less likely right now.

Culpepper plays best on a team like the Steelers/Ravens/Giants/Vikings with good defense's and a running game, I don't think he could do much on a 49ers team that has way more problems not even concerning the offense as well.

We've got one of the best running backs in the league. Not to mention Edwards and Vernon Davis and to a less extent Crabtree as well. The only question mark is if the O-line can gel well. I honestly think they were thrown off by the Saints blitzing the house on just about every down after only having 2 weeks of practice. Our D is solid....not Steelers great but fair enough where we're not going to get 50pts dropped on us. Last year our pass rush and coverage is what hurt us and we've addressed those in the draft and free agency. The only spot on D we didnt improve on was Nose Tackle but I think Sopoaga will be fair in that position this year. Solid QB play is really the only thing keeping us from being a 10 win team. Not to mention now that Dingleberry is gone, we shouldnt get out coached in too many games.

The 49ers are far away from a 10-6 team imo, I feel like they really took a step back last year from progressing into a contender. 8-8/9-7 wins you that division though..

I hope Ocho Cino gets released and the jets somehow pick him up. Even though he is due to get like 5 mill weather he is signed or not on the roster.
Anyone (mostly CM) see what Cotchery said about the Jets? Seems like they were a SB team and were classy to let him go since they could of kept him under contract but Rex said he would b/c Jericho wanted to.

The Patriots just paid him a 4.5$ million bonus, hes not going anywhere.

I dont think they're as far as people think. Its one thing about SF being on the west coast (and sucking so long) if you dont see them every week you dont realize the actual talent the team has. we were winning 6-7-8 games in BAD years with people like Mike Dingleberry and Mike Nolan as head coach. They showed last year they could play with the Saints on MNF. They've got pieces they just need everything to gel. I dont expect to be contending for titles or anything but with the division the way it is I can see us an easy wild card team (even with 10 wins) with a solid QB play.

Niners are a QB away from winning that division, that can be said. But that's basically the limit. Their defense isn't much to talk about. Pretty weak secondary with Willis, Aldon Smith if he pans out and Justin Smith.
Their offense is nice, but their o-line is ballsack. The Saint's defense was blitzing like crazy and terrorizing Smith and Kaepernick.

I dont believe Goldson played but he's only been back at practice for a couple days and Spencer has been out since first week of Training Camp. Our secondary/pass rush was garbage last year which is one reason why we tried to improve that in the off season. I think once they're all healthy they'll be one of the top 2 best Ds in the division.

Sorry for the double post but this has gotten me to thinking, do yall do like a predictions thing here before the season? Like pick the division winners, wild cards and even move on through to the super bowl?

But I just don't see any solid QB play in SF, Alex Smith is what he is, unstable and inconsistent. As AONI said..If I were you, I'd wish for a bad season in hopes of grasping in the Andrew Luck lottery.

Im not completely sold Alex Smith will be the starter anyway. Watching the Saints game Kaepernick looked much more comfortable in the pocket and moved a lot better. It would only be the 4th time Smith was beaten out for the job so its nothing new.
