Egypt's deposed president, Hosni Mubarak, went into a full coma on Saturday night at his residence in the Red Sea resort of Sharm al-Sheikh, an Egyptian newspaper reported on Monday, quoting well-informed sources. www.alarabiya.net/articles/2011/02/14/137565.html

He supposedly has pancreatic cancer which he had an operation for not too long ago in Germany. Reports were it was a gall bladder operation but it has come out that it was indeed some treatment for his cancer. He also fainted a few times while recording his final message to the Egyptian people.

It is rumored that former Egyptian ruler Hosni Mubarak is dead. Egyptian daily 'Al-Masry Al-Youm' reported that soon after moving to the resort, the 82-year-old Mubarak who ruled Egypt for 30 years was gravely ill and slipped into a coma.

The timing makes me think this is made up. But if it's true I hope he gets better soon.

There were also reports saying that he was very "depressed, and dispondent" and that he was refusing medication for it. I'd be more willing to think that, considering the way that he was removed from power, and all his assets have been frozen, it may be either a suicide attempt, or the cancer.

I don't understand non-family members hoping he gets better. He was a brutal dictator, why would you want him to get better?

Oh, I'm not saying it's sad. It's a f*cked up situation, but definitely not a sad one. I could give a sh*t if he lived or died.

I wasn't meaning you but the two other posters who one said hope he gets better and the other who agreed. I just don't see why you would want him to get better. Another report, from an Israeli French-language magazine named JSS News, claims that Mubarak was on death's door in a hospital in Baden, Germany. Mubarak has long been rumored to be suffering from cancer, and JSS News claims that he is already in the terminal phase of his cancer suffering.

I have the same reaction to this that I did when Hussein was executed.

I think this is a cover up so that people don't even think about looking for him. He's going to live out the rest of his life in seclusion.

Hosni Mubarak Not Dying, Had Breakfast on the Beach
Former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was well enough to have breakfast on the beach today and is doing well, a sharp contradiction to reports that the sidelined strongman had slipped into a coma and was dying, a well placed source told ABC News.
