Honestly, nothing really jumps out at me from the Mattel coverage. There isn't one figure shown that makes me scream "Gotta have it!" to be honest. The only one I might get when it's on-sale six months down the road is Eddie's legends figure.

Time for me to brown-nose: Great interview! By far the best of the Mattel WWE interviews we've seen over the past 18 months. Bill, thanks for trying to be honest and engage with proper answers rather than just using the corporate double-speak brush-off that past interviewees have used to avoid upsetting collectors. Some of us do have some perspective on the line, and realise that things can't just go the way we want them to go. Even if it's things we don't wanna hear, it's good that you have the guts to tell us instead of copping out with "stay tuned" or "that's a great suggestion." Thanks for asking my question! Legends 2 packs R.I.P. I have to say as a Legends collector those interviews left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I just seems like we're getting the sort end of the stick. We should've bought more Legends then. The only reason Legends collectors are "getting the short end of the stick" is because the line isn't selling as well as hoped. If people were buying a dozen different Legends figures a month, Mattel would be putting out a dozen different Legends figures a month. If they released a million figures so fast that only the richest collectors could afford them, then the entire line was cancelled due to poor sales, we'd be complaining that they didn't know how to manage their product. They're trying to make it manageable now. I commend that. Looking forward to the Bret Hart and hopefully to the ankle joints being resolved soon.

WWE telling Mattel to stay away from DX is not what I wanted to hear. New Age Outlaws & X-Pac are three of my most wanted figures in the Legends line.

Was hoping for a scaled Pac figure, but oh well, I suppose. Maybe some day, but for now, that's definitely a bummer. Good thing we were given the heads up about it, though, because now we won't have to look out for it.

Wish I would have remembered to submit a question about a Diva's Championship for figures! I would love to know if we are ever going to get one this year.

I would hope they change their stance on the obscure offerings guys like Papa Shango, Adam Bomb, Skinner, IRS, Barry Windham, Nikita Koloff would be welcome additions. I think the approaching 20.00 price point at retail is hurting the sales. This is the one are that jakks succeeded at as there dlx line was 2.00 more but Mattels are about 6.00-7.00 more. we got mostly good news

If they plan to incorporate Diva's into the Legends and Elite line (if even only as an online exclusive), I'd be willing to be we'd see a Diva's, and perhaps a Women's championship. Heck, if they made a Lita and/or Trish, I'd hope they'd include the Women's title.

Steph would probably be Legends as well, so she could have the Women's Championship. Though, I would rather Steph just be the current line, but it really doesn't matter either way to me. As for the Diva's Championship, we'll probably get McCool in Elite with a hoodie and the Diva's Championship. Or maybe Layla with a hoodie and it. Or, Nattie with a jacket and it.

Good thing we were given the heads up about it, though, because now we won't have to look out for it. Maybe we could get Waltman in some other form. I guess they could always do a non DX X-Pac version. Like maybe when he was in X-Factor with Albert & Justin Credible. If that's not possible I'd personally love to see figures of him as 1-2-3 Kid and/or Syxx.

I would mark real hard for an nWo Syxx or maybe even a 2002 nWo version. 1-2-3 Kid I've never been the biggest fan of, oddly enough, so that wouldn't do much for me but I don't think even I am a big enough Waltman fan to want an X-Factor figure hahah

More "strategic" and less "obscure" releases. Hmm.. I don't know if I particularly like the sound of that.
In fact, the legends line sounds like it might be dying within the next year or so.

Please note: I am a fan of WWE and the new and unique Mattel Line ... I am VERY disappointed with the Major changes from last year and things I heard on these video's.
LAST YEAR: The Goal was to make everybody past and present in the WWE Universe. That is a vast collection and brings out great hope for collector's and kids alike.
THIS YEAR: Reduction in Legends lines and high probability that many figures will NOT be made.
LAST YEAR: Unique stands and names to display the figures.
THIS YEAR: No longer making stands in retail but might make them on-line?? ... but no mention about names. Weird looking collection.
LAST YEAR: Articulation and quality control was a high priority. They were already going to make a change with the hard plastic coat of Edge!!!
THIS YEAR: The gentleman wasn't even aware of the loose ankle joints making the figure tumble down - without a base to hold them now makes it EVEN WORSE! Does this person REALLY not know of the loose ankle joints???
LAST YEAR: They were going to make every kind of Scale Match ... Money in the bank, Elimination chamber, cage match ... now lucky if they make them on-line.
THIS YEAR: It seems over.
LAST YEAR: Scale was VERY IMPORTANT to them as it is with collector's.
THIS YEAR: Scale must be irrelevant when it comes to rings???
LAST YEAR: Andre the Giant was announced to be made
THIS YEAR: He will probably come out but will be an exclusive somewhere. Isn't he one of the biggest WWE stars of all time? If he doesn't fly then this line that I love very much is in MAJOR TROUBLE!
LAST YEAR: The gentleman who did the interview for Mattel was very optimistic and seemed that Mattel was going to put their full fire power behind this established line.
THIS YEAR: This different gentleman seems bleak and blunt. Not a lot to look forward to.
Why do they not respond to anyone on Facebook about their product??
I respectfully hope that WWE and MATTEL have a pow-wow on this line. Jakks seemed to do VERY well with making LEGENDS and different figures, rings etc ... and they are a smaller company than Mattel and the figures that Mattel produces are smaller and have less plastic which should make it even more cost efficient. Whether WWE and Vince are not getting enough Superstars and letting MAttel pick the selection they want or Mattel is simply retreating I don't know ... but I am not happy and disappointed. I am rooting for them to right their ships.

<machomook>
You do realise the majority of decisions are made by WWE, he said they wanted to make a big DX thing but WWE said no.
They said they want to get every figure of the active roster, and even McMahon said he wants this before a figure of himis made. The problem is the roster is always changing.
They looked into the clothing problem but cost hinders progress.
They said they will still sell stands in someway.
Andre is on its way in some way as well.
They said they would try to make everyone, people like Flair and Hogan obviously cant be made and then there is the actually contract signing so people like Owen Hart (due to his wife owning the rights) wont be made.
I liked the interview guy, he told it like it was, why sugarcoat it and say "we gunna give you 5000 new figures this month" and then not deliver. (not a dig at Jakks) Its nice to hear, we cant do this because... and were looking into it but... and were not allowed to do this just yet. Its nice to know these things instead of waiting and getting our hopes up and then not getting anything without warning.

wyleecoyote,
I certainly don't want someone to lie to us and am grateful for the truth. Just disappointed in the direction and not pointing it at one company. If WWE is hindering the growth of Mattel then Mattel should use these points to show them. Andre should NOT be done in exclusive! He is one of the biggest stars ever!!!! Having scale individuals but not scale rings seems VERY ODD to me. Legends lines are EXTREMELY Expensive compared to what the mass market has been used to which could be that they were more off on their price points then they were with the actual selection of the legends. I am merely stating my displeasure with the what is happening and a limited collection could hurt them greatly! I remember when LJN made figures ... I didn't start collecting until I knew it had legs and then I got all of them. And legs it had! Then Hasbro showed early on that they did have legs like Jakks. Mattel started out of the shoot with a bang and I have a heck of a collection going but simply am not into getting 5 Cena's etc ... I like new figures. Here's to legends.
