The Governor here is proposing a bill that would basically cripple unions. He claims it will save tons of money.
People aren't standing for it.
He is talking with the National Guard to step in and stop protests or any uprisings that may happen due to his awful proposal.

You think he cares? He's the same guy that voted to stop public funding of mammograms.

Of course not. It's a terrible joke. He's the same guy that voted to stop public funding of mammograms. Well you know I don't care about that. I shouldn't be paying for other people's medical issues.

You think we'd be able to throw him out of office for this. Well it's just the mammogram not the treatment.

My whole point being is that he has a history of not caring about people so we shouldn't be shocked that he would do this.

Seeing as my mother is a teacher, I'm pretty ticked about it.

No wonder why the country is in such bad shape/misinformed, too many citizen journalists/political analysts.

I don't want to get the wrong source, one may be too liberal or the other too conservative. I just want to find the right source for you. Yes, the country is in bad shape because citizens are discussing events in the country. When talking politics with someone in person, do you make them give you sources and hard copies of those sources? Do you think we should just leave the politics to the politicians and us regular folk should just mind our business and let the grown ups do the work because they know what's best for us. I would love a news board but we can't get one for some reason. I mean actual news not person dies in fire that started in their bathtub. Just to tide you over thinkprogress.org/2011/02/14/walker-anti-union-bill/

Just to tide you over thinkprogress.org/2011/02/14/walker-anti-union-bill/Seriously, are you delusional? All I asked for was a source, so that people may be able to gain a better understanding of what is actually going on. But you're right, we should stick to the four short sentences you provided and not ask for anything further. Also, I am a journalism major currently completing my third year of college, so it makes little sense for you to lump me in as a 'simpleton' who doesn't care about politics. You are extremely hypocritical, you seem to be quick to bring the hammer down when you deem something 'wrong' but when someone questions you, you go on to make assumptions about their character in an attempt to discredit them. Get butthurt easily, dontcha? Lastly, common sense usually dictates that when posting news stories, a link to an article would help. I guess next time I should be content to rely on your 'informative' posts.

Usually on here people get offended when a source is too liberal or too conservative. I had to make sure you weren't going to be offended one way or the other.
I never said you don't care about politics. You were the one with the condescending attitude that those who aren't journalists or politicians aren't informed or shouldn't have an opinion because it brings the country down.

Did I ever say that only journalists or politicians should have opinions? There you go again, making crapup because it conveniently suits your argument at the moment. The point I was making was that a lack of valid information in regards to news stories does little to keep anyone informed, and actually goes a long way in hindering our progress as a nation. I guess we should just take the information you post as gospel and not ask for anything more? Are you so delusional that you refuse to admit the need for an article when posting on an INTERNET message board? Is it really that hard to locate a link? Will you even acknowledge this, or will you continue to ignore the obvious? Honestly, I can't believe I am even having this conversation. Is posting a vague headline and some sentences that reflect your opinions doing anything to keep anyone informed? Perhaps you should save that for a blog and stick to posting actual news stories here- you know, something people would actually be interested in reading/responding to, rather than simply posting your take on things.

"bad shape/misinformed, too many citizen journalists/political analysts" So excuse me if I took your comments to mean literally what you typed. The only part of my post that was opinion was the word "awful." So if I was telling you this in person, no sources needed. On the internet however, sources needed. Next time I'll be sure to include a link just for you. I'm not being sarcastic, I should note. I will include links from now on.

All the Democratic State Senators here have left the state and gone to Illinois. They are not coming back until they get rid of the bill. 25,000 union members are in the state capital building right now. Here is some info on the pension that Republicans are saying is too generous. "The average Wisconsin state employee gets $24,500 a year. That’s not a very big pension. The state pension plan, 15% of the money going into it each year is being paid out to Wall Street to manage the money." www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/17/wisconsin-protests-scott-walker-police_n_824697.html

I have a handful of friends who are teachers, whose opinions that I really respect, and none of them went to work over the past two days. They won't be in tomorrow (there are dozens of schools in the area closed) and don't plan to return to work if this bill is passed.

I am actually very torn on this whole thing. On one hand I respect unions, and what they have been able to accomplish for people. On the other hand, I see the financial state of our country and our states, and the spending has been out of control for so long, it is going to take drastic measures to repair. Just like it would if it was a single person who racked up 200k in credit card debt. People are going to start having to do without the things that we are accustomed to, if we are going to change the problem. The biggest problem is, everyone wants our debt to go away, but nobody REALLY wants to do anything about it. Honestly, this whole scenario is no-win for everyone.
