Monday Night Raw (2/2/98)... Solid opening promo with Jack shooting on the Rock. Definitely Cactus-esque and the opening bout should be awesome. Rock low-blowing adds well to his character. Wonder what DX has planned! Woah, NAO added to DX! I love how you did it, but it seems kinda random. Vic Venom love. No surprise with Jarrett over Windham, I see Jarrett/Vader finals. Era of Scorpio has arrived and a nice tag win for him and TAKA. Triple Threat at NWO should be sweet. Contract signing getting a ton of build-up. NAO screwing LOD out of a win is two-fold; Godwinns get over and feud continues solid job. Tyson punching Kane? Eh, I dislike this segment as a whole. Austin's promo was confusing and don't like Vince calling Tyson a backstabber. Vince would be all about the profit and Tyson/Austin together would be major. Score, I was correct in predicting! Taker still alive, eh? Funk causing the DOA the match will cause some problems I imagine. Three explosive matches next week will have me tuning in. Shamrock by DQ is okay, but it seems like there was WAY too many DQ finishes this week. Owen will definitely be buried on the PPV. Nice little show Dan.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy lately. Really liked the opening segment. I could hear Cactus in my head saying those words. Definitely heats things up in the feud. The match itself was ok, right choice with Cactus Jack winning via DQ. Can't wait to see where this goes after tonight! The DX segment was decent, glad you stuck with the the New Age Outlaws to join DX. Not much to comment on the first tourney match other than that would be a boring on in real life, TBH. Nice little tag match. The triple threat shall be good, hopefully Scorpio gets the belt! LOD/Godwinns was nothing special besides the finish. I really hope you put the belts on LOD sometime soon, possibly at NWO? The contract signing was the usual. I really can't wait for the last man standing match. Glad you had Vader get the win, hopefully he wins the belt. The Taker promo was interesting. The IC title match next week should be a good one, I would like to see Cactus get the belt but for some reason I doubt that'll happen. The main event was great, I especially liked the finish. Keep the DX shenanigans coming! Solid show that continued to build up the feuds going into No Way Out. I'm very excited to read that PPV!

WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 9th February 1998 Evansville, Indiana - Roberts Municipal Stadium
WWF Monday Night RAW - 8:57-9:50 CT | [Q1] We kick off RAW tonight with an advertisement showing how the World Wrestling Federation is filled with chaos as of late, especially with the situation with the Nation of Domination, Ken Shamrock, Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie & the Disciples of the Apocalypse They promote tonight's main event featuring Shawn Michaels and Triple H facing the Legion of Doom before cutting away. The opening RAW video package aired as the crowd cheered, pyrotechnics going off and Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduced us to RAW is WAR.
The theme of Stone Cold Steve Austin hit as the crowd erupted, the "Texas Rattlesnake" walking out with "Iron" Mike Tyson, and the crowd just about blew the roof off here in Evansville. Tyson and Austin, the so-called two baddest men on the planet stood tall in the ring, Austin talking about how he was ready for battle tonight, he was ready to kick some ass tonight, and he was read for Sunday, to kick Kane's ass on Sunday in Last Man Standing! The crowd cheered as Stone Cold talked about how the "Big Red Machine" walked around here like a living robot, but he's a vulnerable man, he respects that he's been set on fire and lived, but on February 15th, he's gonna set Kane's ass on fire again! The crowd cheered in joy as Mike took over, telling Steve that they have this one with Kane done. He says he's watched many guys in the WWF and nobody comes closer to the WWF Championship than Stone Cold Steve Austin. Not even the man he faces tonight. With that, the theme of the Truth Commission hit, and Kurrgan the Interrogator came to the ring followed by the Jackyl.
1) Stone Cold Steve Austin (w/Mike Tyson) def. Kurrgan the Interrogator (w/The Jackyl) @ 3:38 - This seemed to be an absolute mismatch as Kurrgan the Interrogator charged at Stone Cold but Austin had a bit of fight in him, chopping away at the legs and managing to get Kurrgan off of his feet. Basic practise for Sunday at No Way Out of Texas when Austin faces the "Big Red Machine" Kane. Austin was then manhandled by Kurrgan as the size advantage allowed Kurrgan to throw Austin around like a ragged doll. Austin delivered a Stunner to Kurrgan but he didn't fall down, a second one connecting, but the Jackyl distracted the referee! Mike Tyson got on the apron, and he nailed Jackyl with a knockout punch! Jackyl flew off the apron and Austin covered for the win! *
Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated his win as "Iron" Mike Tyson stood on the apron warning Paul Bearer not to get involved with Austin and Kane this Sunday at No Way Out of Texas. The Jackyl look angry as Kurrgan the Interrogator got up, Kurrgan then delivering a massive Chokeslam to his own manager! Kurrgan stormed off unsatisfied. | - Commercial Break - | An advertisement aired, promoting the return of Fatu, a street fighting Samoan that was a former WWF Tag Team Champion. Fatu returns next week on RAW.
Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James were shown in the backstage area as they were talking about how the Legion of Doom were increasingly angry, and how they should really be worried about their steel cage match this Sunday at No Way Out. They then laughed sarcastically as they doubted Hawk and Animal winning at 'their mental condition and age'. They were interrupted by Mosh and Thrasher of the Headbangers, as they called the New Age Outlaws to a match tonight after beating them two weeks ago! Billy accepts.
[Q2] 2) Non-Title Match: TAKA Michinoku vs Scorpio fought to a no contest @ 5:03 - A hot light heavyweight display here as Scorpio returned to RAW two weeks ago to aid the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, TAKA Michinoku from Jerry Lawler and Brian Christopher, and then last week Scorpio showed intentions to come for TAKA's title belt. These two will be a part of a 'triple threat' match this Sunday for Michinoku's belt, and these two got a great ovation from the fans for their efforts tonight, high-flying moves from all directions. Michinoku tried a top rope hurricanrana but Scorpio powerbombed him, nailing the outstanding 450 splash. The theme of Los Boricuas then hit, as the group surrounded the ring, jumping and closing in Scorpio and TAKA! **
Savio Vega led the attack on Scorpio and TAKA Michinoku as Jesus Castillo and Miguel Perez nailed a double suplex-facebuster on Michinoku as Vega nailed the Spinning Heel Kick to Scorpio, a diving elbow drop from Jose Estrada! Los Boricuas stood over the two unconscious bodies as Brian Christopher was shown grinning from a backstage monitor. Jerry Lawler was pleased with this whole situation.
Cactus Jack was shown taping his wrists, ready for the WWF Intercontinental Championship match against The Rock tonight, then seeing Terry Funk arrive. Cactus asks if he's alright, and Funk ignores. Jack notices how Funk is wearing his old coloured tights, obviously not in the mood for Chainsaw Charlie tonight. Cactus notes this as being serious, then stepping back and leaving Funk alone.
| - Commercial Break - | 3) Justin Hawk Bradshaw def. Mr Aguila @ 2:24 - This was the return of Bradshaw, the former Blackjack Bradshaw returning to the format of being Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw, and being a roughhouse against the luchadore full of potential, Mr Aguila. Aguila to his credit got in many high-flying moves, but it did not take Bradshaw off of his feet too often. Aguila nailed a big moonsault from the top rope but Bradshaw caught him and slamming him! Bradshaw let Aguila get up, and a BIG Lariat gave Justin the win. *1/4
[Q3] Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw celebrated his win against Mr Aguila as he looked nasty, Bradshaw heading back up the rampway to find himself distracted by Barry Windham glaring at him. Windham asked Bradshaw if he had anything to say to him, but the New Blackjack just smirked and kept on walking, a shoulder butt included.
Mr McMahon was in the backstage area as he approached Terry Funk, McMahon asking Funk why he wasn't being Chainsaw Charlie tonight. Funk told McMahon that tonight he stands by everything he did in Philadelphia and everything he's done for hardcore wrestling. He's going to show Mark Henry the true extreme, and it will be the end of the "World's Strongest Man" in the World Wrestling Federation. Funk stormed off as McMahon asks a stage hand to get WWF security watching this match. Up next, Terry Funk faces Mark Henry in a no-disqualification match!
A WWF Slam of the Week vignette was shown, showing this past Saturday on Shotgun Saturday Night, Steve Blackman was made to face Kurrgan the Interrogator thanks to The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust, and with interference from Goldust, Kurrgan dismantled Blackman for the win.
| - Commercial Break - | The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust was shown in the backstage area as he approached Kurrgan the Interrogator and told him he knows what happened earlier and he wants him to know he's always there for the free agent no matter what. Kurrgan grunts and nods his head, Goldust then telling him that they should try and see Commissioner Slaughter.
[Q5] 4) No Disqualification Match: Mark Henry def. Terry Funk @ 8:14 - Actually a heated match as Terry Funk was definitely not in the mood for games when it came to the "World's Strongest Man". Mark Henry previously destroyed Funk two weeks in a row, and damaged one of his ribs, as made evident as Mark used his size and strength to strip the shirt of Funk off of him, revealing tape. Mark went after the ribs, using a stop sign, a garbage can and a steel chair, then splashing Funk in the corner. All of this was the Nation's member to try and demolish one of the five opponents on Sunday at No Way Out of Texas. Funk tried the piledriver on Mark but it failed, and before Funk had Mark on his knees, Funk wielding his chainsaw, and the usual Chainsaw Charlie approached Mark with it when WWF security came out and dove on Funk from behind! Mark Henry slammed the chainsaw's side into the side of Funk's skull, Big Splash giving Mark the win on Funk! *3/4
Mark Henry celebrated his win as the crowd booed, Terry Funk gushing blood, and the "Hardcore Legend" had been detonated by the "World's Strongest Man". Mark was in pain as D-Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa came out to help Henry to the back. Funk was bleeding, but he got up and delivered a right hand to two security guards, running the others off with his chainsaw! Funk got a standing ovation, blood trickling down his face.
We quickly cut to the backstage area as Stone Cold Steve Austin was laid out in the locker room! Austin was down with a Kane mask on his back, and security were keeping things under control. Mike Tyson showed up, wondering what was going on as he suspects Kane, then storming away quickly. RAW goes off the air. | WWF WarZone - 9:50-9:56 CT | We see a replay from 'Moments Ago', as Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown laid out in the backstage area, and Mike Tyson seemed in a hurry to find out who did it. The opening video package to the War Zone aired, and we cut to pyrotechnics and the arena as Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler welcomed us to the second hour of RAW is WAR.
[Q6] 5) WWF Intercontinental Championship: The Rock (c) def. Cactus Jack to retain @ 6:45 - This was a rematch from last week's episode of RAW, as The Rock fought Cactus Jack but it was plagued by the interference from the Nation of Domination. This match was straight forward, and interference was forbade from this WWF Intercontinental Championship match, Cactus Jack with a great opportunity on his hands tonight against the co-leader of the Nation. Rock was confident and he nailed his People's Elbow for a near fall, then going for the bad legs of Mick Foley, Cactus Jack's attention seemingly still on Terry Funk/Chainsaw Charlie's insanity as shown on Monday Night RAW. Jack fired back, even nailing the Double Arm DDT, but Rock got his foot on the ropes. Suddenly Jack went for a second one, and Rock low blowed Jack without the referee knowing. Rock nailed the Rock Bottom for the win. **
The Rock celebrated his win to boos as Ken Shamrock suddenly darted out, the "World's Most Dangerous Man" running the WWF Intercontinental Champion out into the crowd! Shamrock attended to Cactus Jack, and it will be havoc at No Way Out of Texas this Sunday!
An advertisement aired, promoting WWF No Way Out of Texas on Sunday night, February 15th from Houston.
| - Commercial Break - |
We see The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust backstage with Kurrgan the Interrogator as TAFKA Goldust asks Commissioner Slaughter for a favour in his office. Slaughter asks Goldust what he wants, calling him a maggot. Kurrgan looked intimidating and Slaughter apologised, Goldust asking for a match this Sunday with Steve Blackman. Slaughter tells Goldust that he can have it, but Kurrgan and all form of interference is banned! Goldust looks angry, leaving.
An advertisement aired, promoting what's still to come on the War Zone, Marc Mero confronting Sable; the New Age Outlaws facing the Headbangers; Jeff Jarrett facing Steve Blackman plus in our main event, Shawn Michaels and Triple H face the Legion of Doom!
Mike Tyson was shown barging into Kane's locker room as Paul Bearer restrains the furious "Big Red Machine" from going after "Iron" Mike. Paul asks Tyson what he wants. Tyson tells Kane not to play dumb, telling him that we all know it was Kane attacking Stone Cold to ruin his chances of winning in Last Man Standing. Paul tells Tyson that they arrived at the arena as the War Zone began. It can't of been them! Bearer tells Tyson to asks Vince McMahon for reference, "Iron" Mike reluctantly leaving, then telling Kane that he can't wait for Steve Austin to kick his butt this Sunday. This angers Kane.
[Q7] 6) Jeff Jarrett def. Steve Blackman @ 4:29 - Jim Cornette was at ringside for this as "Double J" met the "Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman in a test for Jarrett before he faces Vader this Sunday for the vacant NWA North American Heavyweight Championship. Blackman was still damaged from his loss to Kurrgan the Interrogator on Shotgun Saturday Night, and Jarrett went right to work on that, with backbreakers and especially working the knees for the Figure-Four Leglock. Jarrett seemed sly in this one as Vader stood on the rampway, seemingly to block access from the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust and/or Kurrgan the Interrogator. Jarrett dodged the Martial Arts Kick and the reverse russian legsweep connected for the win. **1/2
Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win to boos as Jim Cornette clapped and got into the ring to raise his arm high. Vader stood on the rampway as Vader will meet "Double J" this Sunday night at No Way Out of Texas; but who is Cornette with? The man he brought to the company, Vader, or the so-called "Chosen One"? | - Commercial Break - | Darkness was shown, raining heard as the Undertaker's flaming symbol shown. The presence of the "Phenom" lives on.
Mike Tyson continued his search as he walks into D-Generation X, Triple H and Shawn Michaels asking Tyson what he wants exactly. Chyna stood in the background as the "Heartbreak Kid" tells Tyson that they are really loveable people that are in the wrong. Tyson may suspect them to have attacked Stone Cold, but why would they have Kane's mask. Tyson tells them he doesn't know, but he wants to know who attack him without "Iron" Mike around. Hunter tells Mike to relax, saying how Austin probably hurt himself anyway, he's not the brightest man alive, in fact, he's a dumbass. DX leaves as Tyson is left confused.
7) Non-Title Match: The New Age Outlaws def. The Headbangers @ 3:40 - This was a rematch from two weeks ago on RAW is WAR, as Mosh and Thrasher scored the magical upset against the WWF Tag Team Champions, Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James, but tonight was different as surely Legion of Doom would be busy focusing on D-Generation X coming up quite soon. Gunn and James double-teamed Mosh and kept him grounded, pounding over him and isolating him from Thrasher. Thrasher got the hot tag, Thrasher with many quick hits on Gunn. The Outlaws soon cut them off, Thrasher nailed with a Spike Piledriver, and that was it. **
[Q8] The New Age Outlaws celebrated their win as the Headbangers remained down, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg stomping away at them, Jesse James announcing that the legend of the Legion of Doom dies this Sunday!
Marc Mero was shown with Michael Cole at the interview section, "Marvelous" Marc asked about why he called him here. Mero talked about how he was living a happy relationship with Sable, and if he's honest, he wants Sable back. He really does. So much, he wants to invite Sable out to dinner, a forgiveness dinner. They used to live a happy love life, and they still can. Mero asks Sable out to Valentine's Day this Saturday, to recapture their relationship. Sable was shown, reluctant, reminding Mero of who he has been. But he's all for second chances, accepting. Mero smiles and tries to kiss her on the cheek, Sable backing off a little.
| - Commercial Break - | The New Age Outlaws were on commentary as they were promoting this main event between D-Generation X and the Legion of Doom.
8) The Legion of Doom def. D-Generation X @ 8:53 - An intense main event as Owen Hart was stood on the rampway whereas the New Age Outlaws were at ringside. Hawk and Animal both seemed ready to charge, and it seemed as though it was time for the term 'War Zone' to become literal. Shawn Michaels and Triple H both found themselves overpowered by the almighty tag team of the Legion of Doom, in perhaps their final RAW is WAR appearance, as they fight for the WWF Tag Team Championship and their careers inside a steel cage match on Sunday at No Way Out of Texas. Billy Gunn and Jesse James slandered Hawk and Animal as the "Heartbreak Kid" went to work on the head, two piledrivers on Hawk as well as a Pedigree, but Hawk got right up! Hawk and Animal found themselves in the ring with HHH and HBK, the Doomsday Device prepared, and it connected on the WWF European Champion! That was it, even when the Outlaws tried to hit the ring! **
[OVR] The Legion of Doom celebrated their win briefly as the New Age Outlaws attacked Hawk and Animal with their WWF Tag Team Championship belts! Billy Gunn and Jesse James then found themselves fighting with "Black Hart" Owen, as Owen Hart nailed an enziguri taking down both New Age Outlaws! Suddenly Shawn Michaels swung at him with a BIG Sweet Chin Music! "Black Hart" laid out, the WWF Champion handed Owen to Triple H, the WWF European Champion nailing the Pedigree! DX stood over their rivals as RAW is WAR came to a close! |

Monday Night Raw 2/9/98... Patiently waiting this one, so here goes my reply. Looking forward to all those kick ass matches tonight and on top of everything, DX/LOD should be sick. Solid Austin promo and I still like the pair of Austin/Tyson. Kurrgan? Interesting choice of opponent and it baffles me that you would kill the Kurrgan push this early. Fatu next week? Excellent. Kind of an awkward promo for the New Age Outlaws...couldn't tell if they were scared at first but then wised up or what. Headbangers will get crushed tonight. Christopher taking all of his competition out is great and its good to see Los Boricuas back on TV! Another strange segment with Jack/Funk...is Funk walking by or are they talking? Bradshaw! Nice re-debut and I wonder what you have in-store with Windham. Don't like McMahon asking Funk why is wasn't being Chainsaw...seems strange. Interesting Goldust note with Kurrgan there. Shocked Henry got the win and actually upset he did. I guess it puts him over, but Funk needed the upperhand here. Austin down? Tyson attacked him...calling it now. Thank God Rock retain, would be absolutely absurd if you put the belt on Jack. What was the point of Kurrgan in this whole segment? Tyson definitely did it. Jarrett burying Blackman before his match with Goldust is meh, but Cornette having to choose between the two men for Sunday will be great. Hopefully 'Taker soon. Another strange segment, this time Tyson/DX. No surprise the Outlaws come out on top. Mero segment seems a bit out of place and I gather we will see some highlights from their date next week. Outlaws coming back out for commentary? That seems kinda silly for them to leave for 5 minutes. Good main event and a solid wrap up going into No Way Out!

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 12th February 1998
-- RAW was more of an entertaining show than it was a wrestling show this week, as per usual. The highest rated match of the evening featured Cactus Jack vs The Rock, Jeff Jarrett vs Steve Blackman & Scorpio vs TAKA Michinoku. The rest of the show was to be plagued with matches with little in-ring quality, questioning the decision by management to push certain talent (Kurrgan the Interrogator, Mark Henry). The show pushed the boundaries by including some violent scenes in the first hour that's intended for family purposes, and revolved mainly around skits and promoting No Way Out of Texas this Sunday.
-- WWF has No Way Out of Texas on Sunday 02/15/98. It is scheduled to feature: - Shawn Michaels vs Owen Hart for the WWF Championship - The Legion of Doom vs The New Age Outlaws in a steel-cage match for the WWF Tag Team Championships; if LOD lose, they must leave the WWF. - Kane vs Stone Cold Steve Austin in the first-ever Last Man Standing match - The Nation of Domination vs Ken Shamrock, Disciples of the Apocalypse, Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie - Vader vs Jeff Jarrett for the vacant NWA North American Heavyweight Championship - TAKA Michinoku vs Brian Christopher vs Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship - Steve Blackman vs The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust
-- Speculation has it that someone from WCW may be jumping ships to the WWF in the near future. In addition, Chainz has been offered a contract by WCW; Chainz' contract expires in April.
-- Kurrgan the Interrogator attacking the Jackyl marked the end of the Truth Commission officially. Both men will be repackaged, Jackyl may go on to manage other men. Sniper and Recon will also be repackaged. Kurrgan will probably become associated with The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust, as shown on RAW lately.
-- A heel turn is on the horizon for a major up and comer in the World Wrestling Federation. According to sources, it will be the first step for the superstar to grow to become a large part in the WWF in 1998.
-- RAW faired against Nitro with a 3.2 rating to 4.6 rating.
-- In results from RAW is WAR on 02/09/98: - Stone Cold def. Kurrgan the Interrogator - Scorpio vs TAKA Michinoku; no contest - Justin Hawk Bradshaw def. Mr Aguila - Mark Henry def. Terry Funk in a No-Disqualification match - The Rock def. Cactus Jack to retain the WWF Intercontinental title - Jeff Jarrett def. Steve Blackman - The New Age Outlaws def. The Headbangers - The Legion of Doom def. D-Generation X
-- In results from Monday Nitro on 02/09/98: - Steve McMichael def. Glacier - Konnan def. Norman Smiley - Disco Inferno def. Yuji Nagata - Eddie Guerrero & Chris Jericho def. Dean Malenko & Chavo Guerrero Jr - Juventud Guerrera def. El Dandy - Bill Goldberg def. Steven Regal - Chris Adams def. Louie Spicolli - Perry Saturn def. Ultimo Dragon - Booker T vs Raven; no contest for the WCW World Television title - The Outsiders def. The Steiner Brothers to win the WCW World Tag Team titles - Hollywood Hogan def. Randy Savage

Still not liking the partnership between Austin and Tyson. It doesn't suit either of them to all of a sudden be "best buddies". Both men, especially Austin, work best as "loner" types. Liked the Austin part of the promo but the Tyson part seemed a little "too much", like he's in love with Austin. It's not good at all. Strong start using Austin and Tyson, but neither of them were used right.
Austin beating Kurrgan is good, though I'm unsure whether it'd be a decent opener. Tyson knocking out Jackyl was cool, as was the warning to Paul Bearer. Kurrgan turns on Jackyl? I see him going crazy on his own.
Can't wait for Fatu to return.
Nice little segment with the Outlaws. Headbangers vs. Outlaws should be decent.
Interesting Los Boricuas appearance interfering in TAKA vs. Scorpio. Wonder why they did, but it should have something to with Lawler and Christopher.
Ah, no more Chainsaw? Don't really expect Cactus to win the title tonight. Should be a great match regardless.
Return of Justin Hawk Bradshaw? Eh, preferred BJ Bradshaw. Squashing Aguila was the right call.
I like the Funk/McMahon segment. Nice little ECW reference. This should be good for Funk, and if a mini storyline with McMahon progresses, I'd be on board for that.
Odd little alliance between Goldust and Kurrgan. Foundations for the Oddities?
Loved the Henry/Funk match, surprisingly. Henry gets a big win and momentum for the Nation. Loved the finish with the chainsaw, and the post-match Funk antics were pretty cool. Good stuff here.
Somehow, I don't think Kane is behind the attack on Austin. DX perhaps?
Would have preferred some Nation interference in the IC match, but the finish was still decent. In my opinion, it makes Cactus look a little weak, as it usually takes more then a low-blow and Rock Bottom to put him out. Didn't see the point in Shamrock chasing Rock away.
Ah, now I see Goldust's motive. Very cool little angle here, imo. Nice additional match for NWO.
I hated this segment. You're over-using Tyson a lot, and in a bad way by making him Austin's buddy. By over exposing him to the audience, his WrestleMania appearance will lose all of it's edge. Also, you're making Kane appear way too "human" here, as opposed to the supernatural monster he was.
Jarrett over Blackman is fine with me. Interested to see Cornette's decision.
Cool little Undertaker vignette. Hope he's back sooner rather than later.
Liked DX's involvement in the Austin attack. "Austin probably hurt himself anyway, he's not the brightest man alive, in fact, he's a dumbass" made me laugh.
Great win for NAO, though I'm not happy that they just squashed the Headbangers.
Meh, didn't care too much for the Sable/Mero segment. Although, it was very reminiscent of something that would occur in this era. Good booking.
I loved the main event. Great work here. LOD picking up the win is huge before their title match with the Outlaws. I think we may see new champions. Owen Hart getting laid out is a great way to end the show. DX regaining some composure is good.
Overall, an alright show. I just wished Austin and Tyson were used differently. Can't wait for No Way Out.

Shotgun was a nice little show, nothing too much to comment on. I sort of agree with Chaz, Austin and Tyson being friends doesn't seem like either of them to me. Although I could see Tyson knocking Austin's ass out at No Way Out of Texas. It's always been an interesting angle to do, it could go so many ways. Keep this up, you're doing great.

-Good promo. Odd that Austin and Tyson are partnered up, but it should be interesting to see how it flows out. -Austin picking up a win was a good way to get him on the right path. -Lawler and Christopher are behind the attack in my opinion. More things to look forward oto here. -Bradshaw needed to win badly in his return match, so it was nice to see him take the victory. -Rocky retaining was expected. Good match though. -Henry over Funk was sort of shocking, but it's always nice to see a Henry push. -Jarrett over Blackman was expected. -Also obvious the New Age Outlaws would win. Knowing only about 70% about the Attitude Era and all, I can still tell who will win the matches. -Great main event. I didn't mind whoever won there. Nice to see DX stand tall as it unconvinces me of predictability. -Good show; apologies for not replying sooner, but I had to make sure I got to you.

WWF No Way Out of Texas: Sunday 15th February 1998 Houston, Texas - Compaq Center
WWF No Way Out of Texas - 7:00-9:44 CT | The opening video showed highlights of the chaos in the World Wrestling Federation in the past couple of weeks following the Royal Rumble, with D-Generation X's problems with Owen Hart, the alliance with the New Age Outlaws, and the Outlaws' troubles with the Legion of Doom. Not to mention the Nation of Domination's rivalry with Ken Shamrock, Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie and the Disciples of the Apocalypse & Kane against Stone Cold. The introduction to No Way Out of Texas plays as we go to the packed out Compaq Center where pyrotechnics go off and the crowd in Houston are loving it! Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduce us to No Way Out of Texas, filled with 16,000 plus people.
| 1) Steve Blackman vs The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust
This match has been brewing since before the Royal Rumble as the "Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman got in the way of the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust's path to getting counted out at the Rumble against Vader. Blackman fought Goldust and Blackman accidentally injured Goldust's valet, Luna Vachon causing Goldust to find a vendetta against the "Lethal Weapon". This would include placing Goldust into a match with Kurrgan the Interrogator, and this match was made last Monday on RAW, interference banned. Goldust worked away at the ribs of Blackman, as Goldust seemed to keep Blackman down wisely trying to go after the feet as well to disable any martial-arts moves thrown by Blackman. Blackman had the crowd cheering him on in a chin lock though, but Blackman broke up and made the comeback, nailing a great Martial-Arts Kick! Goldust fell out of the ring, and Blackman delivered a suicide dive, Blackman suddenly grabbed by a member of the crowd and slapped in the face! Blackman was shocked and grabbed her before Goldust came from behind, Goldust sending Blackman knee-first into the steel steps. Goldust delivered a massive Curtain Call onto the bottom section of the steel steps, Blackman unconscious and Goldust carted him into the ring to get the win! Winner: The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust @ 9:43 [**]
The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust celebrated his win as he rolled out of the ring to see the woman at ringside who had slapped Steve Blackman in the face. They removed their wig to reveal it was indeed Luna Vachon! Goldust celebrated with the returning Luna, someone we hadn't seen in three weeks. Meanwhile, the "Lethal Weapon" didn't seem to be moving as officials came out, and EMTs were called to the scene, helping Blackman out of the ring to a decent reaction. | In the parking lot, Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown arriving at the arena, the "Texas Rattlesnake" looking around him in case of another attack, "Iron" Mike Tyson approaching him and asking Austin if he had any idea of who it was that attacked him last Monday on RAW. Austin tells Mike that he doesn't know, but he has a feeling that he will before tonight's over and done with, he goes to get ready to fight Kane.
Vader was shown in the backstage area as Kevin Kelly asked the mastadon about what he feels before going into the match with Jeff Jarrett for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship. Vader talks about how he knows what it's like to be World Champion. He's been it before, and he hasn't been it here, but that NWA title is a lot of prestige in gold. Vader talks about how Jim Cornette was the man that brought him here to the World Wrestling Federation, and tonight he will claim the title and reunite with Cornette. It's Vader Time.
| A replay from last Monday night on WWF Monday Night RAW aired, as TAKA Michinoku was in the middle of a match with Scorpio, when Los Boricuas suddenly became involved. Los Boricuas have been given the choice to enter one of their members into the match tonight and so we will see in a few moments. 2) WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Fatal Four-Way Match TAKA Michinoku (c) vs Brian Christopher vs Jesus Castillo vs Scorpio
This was the toughest challenge to date for the fighting WWF Light Heavyweight Champion, TAKA Michinoku tonight facing three men, all of which he has already faced this year in 1998 and managed to defeat. But could he do it all at the same time? Jesus Castillo was oddly not followed by any Los Boricuas, and TAKA Michinoku continued his combat with Brian Christopher whilst Scorpio managed to get rid of Castillo. Sudden death rules, this was all about the title belt and the prestige of it of course illustrated with high flying. Jesus almost managed to steal the win, in fact everybody almost stole the win without actually pinning the champion. TAKA at one point nailed the Asai moonsault onto all of his opposition as Jerry Lawler looked astounded, the "King" cheering on his 'associate' Brian Christopher as per usual. Christopher took advantage as Michinoku seemed to botch it, Christopher applying the Boston crab, but Scorpio got involved again. Whenever one man was involved, they tried to steal the win from him, and whenever one or more men were on the outside, that would begin a springboard attack. Christopher nailed his Guillotine Legdrop and it got both Scorpio and Castillo, Christopher covering for a near fall, and Michinoku suddenly caught him in the Madistral pin for a near fall, Michinoku Driver connecting! Scorpio attacked Michinoku, and it turned into a rematch from last Monday, no interruption. Scorpio had TAKA down and nailed the 450 Splash, but TAKA rolled out the way. Scorpio rolled through and walked right into the Michinoku Driver for the win! Winner and STILL WWF Light Heavyweight Champion: TAKA Michinoku @ 12:49 [***]
TAKA Michinoku celebrated his win as Los Boricuas hit the ring, TAKA standing breathless at ringside, the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion still proving himself as a dominant champion! Scorpio looked annoyed as Brian Christopher was down near Jerry Lawler comically. | In the backstage area we see Mr McMahon walk up to "Iron" Mike Tyson as Mike is air-punching. McMahon tells Mike that he doesn't want to interrupt him, but is he nuts when he is going out there with Stone Cold Steve Austin? McMahon tells Tyson that Austin only trusts himself and hates everybody else. He says that he will destroy Mike, or allow him to be harmed by that "Big Red Machine" Kane. McMahon tells Tyson to think for a minute before he does this. Mike tells Vince that he has this under control and he knows what to do. He appreciates the advice, but he's going to help Stone Cold out there and there's nothing to do. He leaves as McMahon sighs deeply.
Ken Shamrock was shown with Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie and the three members of the Disciples of the Apocalypse in the backstage area, Michael Cole interviewing the group before their hellacious war with the Nation of Domination, Cole declaring that this is it; battle time. Shamrock talks about how the Nation have lurked the World Wrestling Federation for over a year now, causing trouble and ruining many opportunities. Shamrock mentions how he should be WWF Intercontinental Champion right now. Cactus Jack interrupts, saying about how he's also had the chance to be champion so long, but he's wanted to place the barbwire baseball bat right down The Rock's loud mouth for so long! Chainsaw Charlie reveals that he's out to destroy tonight, and Skull & 8-Ball reveal that they will win the factions war once and for all!
| A video package airs, reviewing the entire situation with the Nation of Domination, ever since Faarooq started it in late 1996. The Rock joined the new incarnation and took over as co-leader, becoming WWF Intercontinental Champion and recruiting Mark Henry, D-Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa. They terrorized old members of the Nation like Savio Vega (now Los Boricuas), Crush (left the WWF, now Disciples of the Apocalypse) as well as Ken Shamrock. But now Shamrock has friends to get retribution on the Nation, and tonight it's game time!
3) 10-Man Tag Team No Holds Barred Match Ken Shamrock, Chainsaw Charlie, Cactus Jack, Skull & 8-Ball vs The Rock, D-Lo Brown, Faarooq, Kama Mustafa and Mark Henry An all out war was expected, and an all out war prevailed tonight here in Houston, Texas and this capacity crowd in the Compaq Center were loving it. It was total nonstop action in this ring, and these ten wrestlers were just not holding back on beating the holy hell out of each other. With nobody able to run in, no disqualification, no countouts and with one pinfall or submission to end it all, it seemed like this would never end! The "World's Most Dangerous Man" went right for The Rock as the match stuck to a respectable tag team format to begin, everybody getting their shot in on the WWF Intercontinental Champion, but soon the Nation started picking apart on Skull of the Disciples of Apocalypse, but Cactus Jack decided to throw it out the window, charging in and a full-on war was the outcome! D-Lo Brown used a steel chair over Chainsaw Charlie's head, first weapon of the match. 8-Ball was given the Spinebuster by Faarooq through a table. Kama Mustafa gave Shamrock the snap suplex onto a guard railing, and Cactus Jack brawled with Mark Henry up the aisleway, going into the crowd! Jack doved from the top of a set of stairs and dropped an elbow right onto Mark! The battle continued as Shamrock applied the Ankle Lock on Faarooq but D-Lo Brown took Shamrock's head off with a big super kick. Cactus Jack delivered a Double Arm DDT on Mark onto a piece of rampway as the fans chanted 'Foley', the battle continuing onwards. Jack soon grabbed the barbwire baseball bat and slammed it into the skull Rock, cutting him open! Cactus continued as he followed up slamming it into Faarooq's spine, Chainsaw Charlie grabbed his chainsaw and tossed it right across the ring at Rock! Rock managed to dodge it but Funk then ran at him with a clothesline! Rock was in trouble as he was the only Nation member in the ring with Cactus, Charlie and Shamrock. The DOA set up a table in the ring and Rock was grabbed, Shamrock delivered a belly-to-back suplex to Rock before Cactus and Shamrock set him on the table, Charlie nailing his classic top rope moonsault! Funk covered for the win!
Winners: Chainsaw Charlie, Cactus Jack, Ken Shamrock, Skull and 8-Ball @ 18:32 [**1/4]
The fans chanted Terry Funk's name as Chainsaw Charlie slowly got up, covered in blood. Cactus Jack helped him up as Ken Shamrock celebrated over the body of The Rock as the Nation of Domination were all laid out unconscious around ringside, six of the ten men involved bleeding! The Disciples of the Apocalypse joined the trio in the ring to celebrate, finally having won the war against the Nation. | In the backstage area we see "Black Hart" as the final Hart Family member in the World Wrestling Federation, Owen Hart was shown looking focused, Sunny standing with Owen and asking him for some comments about tonight's WWF Championship match with Shawn Michaels. Owen says how he can't believe that it's come to this at last. Of all of the Harts driven out of the WWF by D-Generation X: Davey Boy, Jim and Bret, who knew that he would be the final man remaining. Owen says how he's been thinking a lot more since he's been left without any other Hart Family members, and tonight it could be DX's time to screw him as well. Owen says how he will not allow a Screwjob to take place, he will be successfully and fulfill his destiny tonight, and become the WWF Champion at last. | Jim Cornette was stood in the ring as we returned to the arena, Cornette with the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship in hand, welcoming everybody to the tournament finals of the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship tournament, started last month. Six men failed, but two men made it, Jeff Jarrett and Vader, and tonight, one man will make history by becoming the first NWA Champion under the WWF banner!
4) NWA North American Heavyweight Championship
Jeff Jarrett vs Vader Jim Cornette stuck to commentary on this match, despite previously stating that he was going to happily officiate the finals of this tournament. This tournament began on January 5th edition of RAW is WAR, and Jeff Jarrett had gone through Chainz of the DOA and Barry Windham to get to this point whereas Vader had gone through Savio Vega and Marc Mero to reach this point. There was obviously going to be a size difference as "Double J" found himself repeatedly tossed away from the mastadon, Vader showing himself as being impressive, clearing house and "Double J" kept retreating for ringside to breathe, then strutting. That was until Vader followed him out and laid him out on the floor. Vader almost got the win by count out for that, but Jarrett got back in the ring. It seemed unlikely for Jarrett to apply the Figure Four Leglock on, and Vader would need to be extremely weak for the Stroke to work effectively, Jarrett went right for the ankle in which case. Jarrett kept Vader down, trying to somehow apply pressure and pull on the ankle. Vader soon made a comeback, levelling Jarrett many times and setting up for the Vader Bomb. In a desperate move, Vader was dragged down by the tights by Jarrett, and Vader fell and flattened the official! The official down, everything fell out of hand and Jim Cornette handed Jarrett a guitar, "Double J" slamming the acoustic guitar over the skull of Vader! The crowd booed as they were shocked Cornette had turned on his client, Vader! Jarrett covered and won the title!
Winner and NEW NWA North American Heavyweight Champion: Jeff Jarrett @ 8:28 [*3/4]
Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win to the loud boos of this Houston crowd, Jim Cornette climbing into the ring and raising the hand of "Double J" and handing him the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship belt. Jarrett and Cornette left together, as Vader remained unconscious, lying in the shards of guitar broken over his skull. | A video package aired reminding us of the Kane and Stone Cold Steve Austin match, the first-ever Last Man Standing match in history coming up as Stone Cold originally started this with being punished by Mr McMahon for bad behavior and the 1998 Royal Rumble winner was placed in a match with Kane, where Kane seemed indestructable, Kane assaulting the "Texas Rattlesnake". Later than night, Austin got into a brawl with Mr McMahon and then "Iron" Mike Tyson, though they later made up, Tyson becoming the bodyguard/associate of Austin. The first man to stay unconscious for the count of ten in this no disqualification match will lose, and Kane seems invincible!
5) Last Man Standing Match Stone Cold Steve Austin (w/Mike Tyson) vs Kane (w/Paul Bearer) This was expected to a hellraiser, and of course it was. The second stipulation of the match, only this was the first and so anything could happen. Stone Cold could have easily set the "Big Red Machine" on fire and the match wouldn't be stopped. Kane could have killed Austin; anything could have happened in no-disqualification rules as long as the match ended with one man down for a ten count. Stone Cold had "Iron" Mike in his corner for protection in case of involvement from Paul Bearer, but Kane seemed to have underestimated the "Texas Rattlesnake" as ther match began, Austin repeatedly taking Kane down to no reaction from Kane, Kane just getting back up like a brainless zombie, absorbing no pain and continuing the brutality against Austin. Austin soon took Kane through the ropes to the ringside area, and Austin slammed the steel chair into the skull of Kane three times to knock him down. The "Big Red Machine" continued the attack against Austin, finally fighting back and Austin was suddenly given a big Chokeslam through the French announce table! The crowd were stunned as Kane continued, but Austin managed to get up before ten. Kane continued the attack by slamming Stone Cold into the steel steps twice and repeatedly slamming him skull-first into the steps. Austin began to bleed as Kane then took the fight with Austin up the aisleway. Kane delivered a heavy uppercut but Austin fought back. Paul Bearer then came out of nowhere with a big clothesline though! "Iron" Mike stood at ringside and watched, waiting for something to happen, and he ran up and knocked Bearer out with a big punch! Kane grabbed Tyson by the throat but Austin low blowed Kane! Mike delivered a knockout punch to Kane and the "Big Red Machine" went down! Kane was down but he sat up at 8, getting back to his feet and Tyson punched him again! Kane reacted with nothing this time, Tyson getting big booted away. Kane was attacked by Austin as they brawled back towards the ring, Kane delivering the Tombstone Piledriver! Kane had Austin down, but the lights suddenly went out in Houston! A gong was heard, and when the lights returned Austin was attacking Kane again! Austin had a chair as he repeatedly battered the "Big Red Machine" with the steel chair, Kane down! Austin delivered a Stunner to Kane, and Kane seemed laid out! Austin taunted the crowd, but suddenly he was knocked down by "Iron" Mike!? The crowd booed as Tyson had turned his back on Austin! Austin was down, and Kane sat up, Tyson leaving to the appauled looks on the fans faces. Paul Bearer looked pleased as Kane and Bearer stood over Austin's bloody and broken body, the official counting Austin down!
Winner: Kane @ 16:54 [**1/4]
"Iron" Mike Tyson did not look back at the ring as Stone Cold Steve Austin remained laid out in the ring covered in blood. Kane stood with Paul Bearer tall, setting off his pyrotechnics. The "Big Red Machine" left satisfied, but the hint of The Undertaker returning was worrying to Paul Bearer! | An advertisement aired, promoting WWF Magazine, as advertised by Vic Venom.
In the backstage area we see "Iron" Mike Tyson walk up to Mr McMahon, as Vince smirked at Mike! Vince tells Mike that he knew he hired him for a reason. Tyson laughs, saying it was his pleasure...
Jeff Jarrett was shown in the backstage area as the new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion seemed very pleased with his win. Jim Cornette was shown jogging up the corridor to Jarrett and Cornette told "Double J" that he was coming. They dash to a parked car and drive away, just as Vader appears in the parking lot! Vader seemed angry as he placed some fists into a nearby dumpster. | A video package aired, promoting the rivalry between the New Age Outlaws and the Legion of Doom; a rivalry spanning from last October when the Outlaws began in the tag team division and seemed to target the Legion of Doom to make a name for themselves. Billy Gunn and Jesse James stole the shoulder spikes of the illustrious group, and then cheated to win the WWF Tag Team Championships from them. But since then they have injured and cheated in any way necessary to retain the title. Tonight, LOD compete for their careers in the WWF!
6) WWF Tag Team Championships, Steel-Cage Match The New Age Outlaws (c) vs The Legion of Doom If the Legion of Doom lost this match, they would have to leave the World Wrestling Federation as they competed tonight one last time to face the WWF Tag Team Champions, the New Age Outlaws. Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James have been serious rivals to Hawk and Animal, having placed a massive pressure point on the Road Warriors, Hawk and Animal in this one here to try and get retribution on the WWF Tag Team Champions. The steel cage was mesh tonight, replacing the old tradition of blue/black framed, and this was all about old school rules. There was a door, and Billy and Road Dogg took that corner, as the match retained a tag team nature throughout. Hawk dominated Gunn in the opening moments, repeatedly ramming Gunn into the steel cage. The only way to win this match was when both members of a team had reached the floor, and so Gunn and James repeatedly tried to sneak out to no avail. It ended up as a four-man brawl, Animal and Hawk cutting Gunn and James open in the end. Hawk and Animal soon nailed the Doomsday Device on James, but Gunn had left the cage slyly! Perhaps a bad idea, as James was left dominated in the ring, Hawk and Animal just assaulting the hell out of Road Dogg, retribution for everything happened in the past four months! Animal went to leave as Billy Gunn delivered a cage door shot to the skull of Animal! Gunn climbed back into the ring just for Hawk to clothesline Gunn and sandwich him between the mesh cage and the big arm of Hawk! Hawk went to powerslam James but James was dragged out of it by Gunn and the Outlaws escaped!
Winners and STILL WWF Tag Team Champions: The New Age Outlaws @ 13:31 [**1/2]
The New Age Outlaws celebrated their win as they had just unlit the legacy flame of the Legion of Doom! The crowd hated this, as Billy Gunn and Jesse James grabbed their WWF Tag Team Championships, Hawk and Animal left in the ring in disappointment. The Legion of Doom started ramming into the cage, Hawk and Animal relentless as the crowd chanted LOD, destroying one wall of the cage! LOD had a massive ovation as they left the World Wrestling Federation ring for the final time. | A video package aired, reviewing Survivor Series 1997, as Shawn Michaels screwed Bret "Hitman" Hart to win the WWF Championship in one of the most controversial matches in professional wrestling history, the "Heartbreak Kid" and D-Generation X becoming the most controversial force in the World Wrestling Federation to date. Triple H, Chyna and Shawn Michaels became targets of everybody and hated by virtually everybody, especially Owen Hart. Owen, the final Hart in the WWF after Jim Neidhart and Davey Boy Smith were both driven out of the company, "Black Hart" was now driven to destroy DX and avenge the Hart Family. With a win against the WWF Champion under his belt, he was now after the WWF Championship!
7) WWF Championship Shawn Michaels (c) vs Owen Hart This was it, the "Black Hart" was given the biggest opportunity in his career since his WWF Championship match against brother Bret in 1994, the "Black Hart" had worked hard as the surviving Hart Family member against the "Heartbreak Kid", Shawn Michaels the source of all hate in the World Wrestling Federation. Owen started off viciously, no D-Generation X members in sight for this match. Owen took Shawn down and pounded on him, 100% of the fans were on "Black Hart"'s side, Owen trying the Sharpshooter in the first two minutes just for the "Showstopper" to keep escaping, sliding out of the ring. Owen delivered a suicide dive, and Owen continued, applying the Sharpshooter on the floor but realising he couldn't win the WWF Championship outside of the ring! Owen delivered two enziguris, and the "Black Hart" was simply relentless in this battle and Owen tried the Sharpshooter yet again just for Shawn to fire back. The "Heartbreak Kid" soon took down the knee of Owen, and went right to work on it, the figure-four leglock applied and trying to snap the knee of Owen. Owen tried to fight it, but Shawn kept going for it, tying Hart in the tree of woe and stomping away at Owen, then trying to hyperextend the leg of Owen to apply more pressure. Shawn soon tried the Sharpshooter himself to massive boos, but no bell sounded this time round. Owen made the ropes, and broke out of it, the "Black Hart" delivering a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker! Owen was then sidetracked as Triple H and Chyna came to ringside! Owen gave Hunter the enziguri and then put the "Ninth Wonder of the World" in the Sharpshooter! The crowd roared as Shawn went for the Sweet Chin Music, Owen moved and Shawn superkicked the referee! Owen applied the Sharpshooter on Shawn Michaels, and it could have been over right here but the referee was down! Owen went to revive the official when "Iron" Mike Tyson appeared, and he laid Owen out! Mike removed his shirt to reveal a DX shirt, and DX had upgraded! The crowd hissed loudly as Shawn set up the Sweet Chin Music, and he connected! It was over!
Winner and STLL WWF Champion: Shawn Michaels @ 21:35 [***1/2]
Shawn Michaels celebrated his win as the crowd booed loudly, Triple H and Chyna joined Shawn in the ring as the WWF Champion, the WWF European Champion and the "Ninth Wonder of the World" stood tall over the "Black Hart", Owen with "Iron" Mike Tyson! Tyson smirked with D-Generation X, and DX were successful as No Way Out of Texas: In Your House went off the air!

No Way Out of Texas!... Been definitely looking forward to this man, cannot wait to see what you do with certain feuds. Hopefully you continue with this diary, as it is one of your best ever. Let's get to the show now, shall we? Solid way to open the night. Probably not the best of wrestling matches, but the entertainment value alone was awesome. Wonder who this fan is who grabbed Blackman and sad to see him lose, but Goldust needs some credibility. LUNA! It was Luna all along. Tyson definitely knocked Austin out...has to be. Solid, VERY solid promo and I really enjoy Vader trying to re-unite with his old mentor. Hopefully he takes the belt. Turning the light heavyweight match into a fatal four way was a pretty smart move on your behalf, more talent will work out better. TAKA retaining is expected and a great way to end the match. Funk/TAKA need to go one-on-one soon. TAKA standing tall against the Boricuas puts him over majorly. TYSON IS DEFINITELY TURNING. This 10 man tag should be crazy; I'm anticipating definitely. Wonder if this is now the end of the Nation, which I am hoping not as that would kill so much momentum. Aw, Cornette turning on Vader makes me very sad. Really dislike this outcome from a fan standpoint. That's a real nice graphic; I'm guessing Chaz! Wow, Austin/Kane match was jammed pack and full of surprises. Glad to see some recognition for 'Taker here to set up Brother vs. Brother at 'Mania! I knew Tyson would turn! Good way of doing it though; good end to the match as well. Jarrett/Vader feud should be good man. Damn, LOD no more? Should be interesting to see what you do with them. NAO have some momentum now, hopefully you give them good opponents for Mania. Didn't see Tyson coming out again to screw Owen, but it is logical. Nice way to end an excellently booked PPV...cannot wait for the aftermath good man.

-As I followed this diary, I remember that feud. I'm proud to see Goldust come out on top. -Taka retaining was the best way to, considering the talent/value he brings to the table. -Big ten match tag match that could go either way. Fine result either way. -Jeff Jarrett over Vader is big for him. Brings him some presige to his name as a title holder. -Kane over Austin, I love that! I hope Kane can win the WWF Championship. -New Age Outlaws winning was extremely shocking! Great that they won. -Michaels over Hart was a great main event, I knew HBK would win. -Great PPV.

I really liked the first match, and love how you give us a recap of the fued. The end of the match was very shocking, with a sick ending. Glad Luna's back, interesting way to get her into the mix of things again. The light heavyweight title match was awesome, man, and I'm glad TAKA retained. I'd like to see Scorpio win it sometime in the future, as he's always been on of my favorites. The big tag match was AMAZING, especially the ending! Seeing the Rock go through a table isn't an everyday thing. Owen's promo was a nice way to hype the match, giving us a little history lesson. Jarrett winning the title is great, excited to see what you do with Jarrett, because he could be big. After that match, it's official: Kane is a freaking monster. Excited to see what you do with both him and Tyson. The Outlaws retaining was expected. The main event was great, and really made me feel for Owen. Nice way to get Tyson involved with DX too. Overall, this was a fantastic PPV by you. Btw, after Austins match you left a . You seems like a perfectionist, so I was just pointing that out for you.

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 19th February 1998
-- No Way Out of Texas: In Your House took place this past weekend on pay-per-view. Overall, the show featured plenty of non-PG appropriate activities and physicality than actual wrestling. In this sense, plenty more brawling took place on the show as opposed to actual wrestling. The best match of the night was easily the main event with Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart; it had the potential of becoming a four-star match, easily a match of the year candidate already, but the involvement of D-Generation X and Mike Tyson docked it half a star. It was still the best match of the year for the World Wrestling Federation so far, but that's not saying too much. The performance of the New Age Outlaws were praised by the Brit for their match with the Legion of Doom having 'taken it well'. Mike's turning on Stone Cold was well executed, and his transition to DX is interesting, but the Brit finds him unfitting. The light heavyweight division was satisfyingly given some air time, and seems to be gaining momentum in the company with these pay-per-view matches. For a clustered match, the ten-man no holds barred tag team match was played out well and retained its entertaining nature. Overall, the show has been given a mild thumbs up, but the amount of screwy finishes and betrayals (Jim Cornette on Vader, Mike Tyson on Stone Cold and then Owen Hart) dragged it down.
-- The Legion of Doom are satisfied with the terms they left, though have been given a no-compete clause excluding them from competing in another company for ninety days.
-- Louie Spicolli passed away on Sunday night as a result of what is speculated to be an overdose on either drugs and/or alcohol. Spicolli was under contract to World Championship Wrestling at time of death, having competed on Thunder last Thursday night. He also is known for his brief run in the World Wrestling Federation in 1995 under the name of 'Rad Radford'. Spicolli will be missed for his array of innovative moves.
-- WWF RAW is WAR has been pre-empted this week for the Westminster Dog Show on USA Network. Instead, RAW is WAR will air on Saturday under the guise of 'Saturday Night RAW' on USA from 9PM.
-- Former WWF Tag Team Champions are apparently looking to start competing in the WWF, the former Quebecers, Pierre and Jacques. In addition, Tiger Ali Singh and a talent known as 'Gangrel' appear to also be the next stars to advance to the World Wrestling Federation from the developmental territory MCW. John Tenta is receiving tryouts, Tenta is formerly known as Earthquake.
-- Information of the WWF's offer to All Japan is still unheard of, leading to wonder what will happen to said deal.
-- The WWF has WrestleMania XIV on 03/29/98, it is currently scheduled to feature: - Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin for the WWF Championship; Mike Tyson will be involved some way. - Pete Rose will be in attendance.
- The WWF are apparently bumping the price of WrestleMania XIV to $34.95.
- In results from No Way Out of Texas: In Your House on 02/15/98: - The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust def. Steve Blackman by count-out - TAKA Michinoku def. Jesus Castillo, Brian Christopher & Scorpio to retain the WWF Light Heavyweight title - Chainsaw Charlie, Cactus Jack, Ken Shamrock, Skull & 8-Ball def. The Rock, D-Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa, Faarooq and Mark Henry in a No-Holds Barred match - Jeff Jarrett def. Vader to win the vacant NWA North American Heavyweight title - Kane def. Steve Austin in the first-ever Last Man Standing match - The New Age Outlaws def. The Legion of Doom to retain the WWF Tag Team titles in a Steel-Cage match; LOD must leave the WWF. - Shawn Michaels def. Owen Hart to retain the WWF title
- In results from Monday Nitro on 02/16/98: - Bill Goldberg def. Hugh Morris - Sick Boy def. Mark Starr - Public Enemy def. The Outsiders by DQ - Mike Enos def. Barry Horowitz - Yuji Nagata def. La Parka - Ultimo Dragon def. Billy Kidman - The Barbarian def. Meng - Saturn def. Rick Martel - Curt Hennig def. Bobby Eaton - The Steiner Brothers def. Nice choice for an opener. Not much to comment on. Great to see Goldust pick up the win, and the write-up was great too. Luna returns? Awesome! Thinking about that, I'd love if you signed Bam Bam Bigelow and paired him with Luna and Goldust.
I'm now 100% sure Tyson attacked Austin and will turn on him tonight.
Again, I think it's evident Cornette will turn on Vader. Not liking how predictable tonight's events are.
12 minutes for the light heavyweights is cool. Very, very glad to see TAKA retain. He makes for the best Champion, imo.
Really interested to see McMahon get involved with Tyson/Austin. Intrigued to see where this goes. McMahon/Tyson partnership with DX against Austin?
Stoked for the 10-man tag!
Really, really liked this match. Might be my favourite of the night depending on what follows. I think you made the right choice with the faces going over as it allows more to open up from this bout. The heels aren't going to let things lie. Shamrock/Rock at WrestleMania would be great and I think/hope that you go down that route.
Nice little Owen promo. Main event should be awesome, I'm sure.
As predicted, Cornette turns on Vader. Glad to see Jarrett win because, as awesome as Vader is and no matter how much he deserves a title reign of some sort, I just don't think the NWA title would suit him. Expected some sort of gimmick rematch, at WrestleMania? Cornette and Jarrett vs. Vader? I think that would be fun and gives both men something decent to do. Great work here.
The write-up for this was fantastic and it would have been a very entertaining match. Surprised that Kane won but I understand that he needs to momentum far more than Austin going into WrestleMania. I mean, a loss to anybody but The Undertaker, and in a Last Man Standing match no less, would pretty much end Kane. Not really shocked to see Tyson turn, but it is far greater than having him paired with Austin. Looking forward to the fallout of this on both sides.
Again, not surprised by the outcome, but it's one I understand and actually quite like. It's huge for the Outlaws to come away TWICE with the belts against LOD. Also, this sets up the return at WrestleMania is LOD 2000. I really, really hope you keep the belts on the Outlaws for a while to come. Great writing.
I think the focus on Bret isn't good for this feud. Instead, I'd neglect to mention him by name and focus purely on the reprecussions Owen is suffering from. The split of his family, his isolation in the WWF, which would really emphasise his "Black Hart" gimmick. Right now it looks more of a case of "you did this to my brother, so I don't like you". Once again, not surprised to see Shawn retaining. You gave the pay-per-view the best possible ending, with Tyson aligning himself with DX. The one problem I see is that now Owen and Tyson will have unresolved issues leading into WrestleMania. Triple-Threat between Owen, Austin and Michaels, perhaps? That would be absolutely insane and something I'd have paid to have seen.
A predictable pay-per-view, but that doesn't retract from the quality of the booking which was excellent. Good work, dude. Can't wait for WrestleMania!

WWF RAW Saturday Night: Saturday 21st February 1998 Dallas, Texas - Reunion Center
Dark Match: John Tenta def. Mike Davis | WWF Monday Night RAW - 8:57-10:02 CT | [Q1] A replay from last Sunday's pay-per-view aired, No Way Out of Texas taking place six days ago with "Iron" Mike Tyson shockingly turning his back on Stone Cold Steve Austin and also Owen Hart, siding with D-Generation X and aiding Shawn Michaels in retaining his WWF Championship. The opening RAW is WAR video package aired, and we go to the Reunion Center in Dallas for RAW Saturday Night! Jim Ross and Michael Cole introduce us to the show and explain the circumstances of why they are not on Monday night this week due to the Westminster Dog Show. The theme of D-Generation X hit as the crowd booed loudly, Shawn Michaels prancing out with Triple H, the WWF Champion having successfully defend the title against Owen Hart last night, the "Heartbreak Kid" visibly pleased with himself for that fact. Shawn and Hunter were joined by Chyna as they pointed back at the entrance and out came "Iron" Mike Tyson! The crowd booed as DX was unite, as the New Age Outlaws also came out happily following the hellacious steel-cage match with the Legion of Doom last night, and now finally ridding the World Wrestling Federation of LOD. The six members of DX were in the ring as Shawn Michaels talks about how last night individually, D-Generation X absolutely brought the house down! Shawn tells everybody how proud he is about how things went last night, because he managed to take down the "Black Hart" and once again embarrass him like a common thief! Justice served here in the WWF! The crowd boos as Road Dogg and Billy Gunn took over, Jesse James talking about how Hawk and Animal were now yesterday's talk, the Legion of Doom banished from the WWF, and why? Because the New Age Outlaws took their asses out! Gunn tells the fans to thank them later as they then handed the microphone to Triple H, the WWF European Champion saying he and Chyna experienced all of this, and the best part is he didn't even have to defend the title last night! Hunter smirks as Mike takes the mic, Tyson telling everybody that he did the best decision last night. Vince McMahon was right when he said that Austin trusts no-one, and during the Last Man Standing match with Kane, that became extremely clear. Mike tells everybody that he apologised to Austin weeks ago. Because Austin claimed he could take Mike. If he could turn back the clocks, he would have knocked Stone Cold out cold right in that very ring.
The glass shattered and the theme of Stone Cold then hit, Steve Austin powerwalking out to the arena, standing on the rampway as Austin asked D-Generation X if they felt like a million bucks knowing that it will take six of them to stop the "Texas Rattlesnake" from getting to the WWF Championship. In fact, it will take five men to get to Shawn Michaels. Better yet, five men to get to Mike Tyson! The crowd cheered as Stone Cold told Mike that he decided to let him in because he thought they could dominate, but of course he had to be screwy. Austin believed betrayal would play a part, and it turned out to be "Iron" Mike's envy! The crowd cheered as Tyson denied this, Austin asking Mike if he wanted to settle this in the ring by any chance! Shawn stopped this discussion, announcing that he's got different plans for Austin, and that includes Austin tonight teaming with any WWF superstar taking on Billy Gunn and Jesse James! Austin tells HBK that he accepts!
| - Commercial Break - | [Q2] 1) The Nation of Domination (w/The Rock) def. The Disciples of the Apocalypse @ 4:39 - A six-man tag team match to kick off RAW Saturday Night tonight in the ring, The Rock accompanying D-Lo Brown, Mark Henry and Kama Mustafa into the battle with Skull, 8-Ball and Chainz in a basic extension from the chaotic ten-man tag team no holds barred match at No Way Out of Texas. The announcers noted how Rock was pinned by old man Chainsaw Charlie having to put Charlie in line for a WWF Intercontinental Championship shot. Chainz was worked over as D-Lo tried to target the shoulder, Kama applying a cross-armbreaker to try and make Chainz tap. 8-Ball soon made the tag and the action kicked off, the DOA clearing house of the Nation. The referee was with Kama and Chainz at ringside when Rock nailed 8-Ball with the title belt from behind, D-Lo nailing a spinning spinebuster for the win! *3/4
The crowd booed as the Nation of Domination celebrated their win, the Disciples of the Apocalypse down in the ring, and still to come later tonight, The Rock will be in action teaming with Faarooq to face Chainsaw Charlie and Cactus Jack.
Jim Ross and Michael Cole told us what else to expect in the upcoming hour of RAW Saturday Night, the debut of Fatu; TAKA Michinoku defending the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship against Scott Taylor; Owen Hart commenting on his loss last Sunday; Owen Hart taking on Triple H in non-title action plus more!
| - Commercial Break - | An advertisement aired based around Stone Cold Steve Austin, promoting the WWF Attitude Era.
A 'WWF Rewind' vignette aired, showing us a replay from No Way Out of Texas as the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust defeated the "Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman with the Curtain Call right onto steel steps. Blackman then had to be taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
[Q3] 2) Fatu def. Recon @ 3:53 - This was the in-ring return of Fatu, as the street fighter Fatu character has been promoted in recent weeks on RAW is WAR scheduled to debut tonight. Recon was still dressed in the Truth Commission get up, no Sniper in sight tonight as Fatu was given a decent reaction, Fatu throwing several kicks to the torso of Recon and throwing him around, despite Recon being a pretty big man himself. Fatu delivered a Samoan drop and made a cover attempt but The Jackyl rose his arms and Recon kicked out suspiciously. It grew odd as Recon started to fight back as Fatu seemed closer to victory, but Fatu soon ended it, a big Reverse Piledriver giving him the win! *1/2
Fatu celebrated his win as The Jackyl looked on unappreciative. Jackyl shook his head as Recon rolled out of the ring. Jackyl spoke to Recon about forgiveness, and how Recon failed to get the job done. Jackyll renowned Recon as a failure to the Truth Commission, himself, these fans, Jackyl, his family, his past family, his friends, his past friends, everybody. Recon was apologetic as Jackyl seemed to show faith in him before slapping him in the face and leaving! Recon was left alone.
Owen Hart was shown with Kevin Kelly in the backstage area and "Black Hart" was asked about his thoughts about last night and him being screwed out of the WWF Championship yet again by Shawn Michaels and D-Generation X. Owen says he nearly had the belt. He says nevermind, being that it's not over yet! Owen vows to have a WrestleMania moment this year, and he will do whatever it takes to get a WWF Championship opportunity! He tells Kelly that his road of destruction starts with Triple H tonight!
| - Commercial Break - | Ken Shamrock was shown in the backstage area warming up, as he was interrupted by Jeff Jarrett, "Double J" telling the "World's Most Dangerous Man" to get out of the way for the new NWA North American Heavyweight Champion. Shamrock asks Jarrett what makes him better than him, Jarrett telling Shamrock that he can actually win a title match, referring to his losses to The Rock and Shawn Michaels recently. Shamrock grabs Jarrett and shoves him against the wall, challenging him to a match tonight!
[Q4] 3) TAKA Michinoku (c) def. Scott Taylor to retain the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship @ 6:50 - TAKA Michinoku had a hard-fought title defense last night we thought, but it was bad tonight as the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion was still out of it from the fatal four-way victory last night, now having to face the talented Scott Taylor. Scott seemed more arrogant than in the past as TAKA showed off his usual skills, Michinoku with several moonsault and being quick on his feet opposing Taylor. Brian Christopher wandered out as time went by, Scott having offense and going for the back of TAKA. Michinoku soon caught Christopher off-guard with a moonsault to the outside avoiding interference. TAKA was grabbed by Taylor as he went for the tornado DDT, Michinoku reversed and nailed a springboard tornado DDT of his own for the win! **1/4
TAKA Michinoku celebrated another WWF Light Heavyweight Championship defense as the crowd approved. Brian Christopher didn't seem happy but Scorpio came out and took Christopher down with a right hand! Scorpio got into the ring and shoved TAKA, telling him he wanted the belt!
In the backstage area we see the WWF European Champion, Triple H with Chyna, and Hunter's in action with Owen Hart, next! | - Commercial Break - | [Q5] 4) Non-Title: Owen Hart def. Triple H (c) w/Chyna by disqualification @ 6:45 - The "Black Hart" took on the WWF European Champion tonight as Owen Hart was out to try and regain momentum following his embarrassing defeat to the WWF Champion, Shawn Michaels; a man whom Owen had beat last Sunday night at No Way Out of Texas. Triple H was obnoxious and confident going into this one as the "Black Hart" fired all out on Triple H in the opening moments. Owen nailed a quick enziguri on Hunter and Triple H evacuated the ring for ringside, Triple H seeking assistance from Chyna. Hunter then got back into the ring and managed to pick apart at the knee the "Heartbreak Kid" had worked on this past Sunday on pay-per-view. Triple H applied a unique Indian deathlock move as Owen wrived in pain, but Owen made a quick comeback, Chyna sliding in the WWF European title and Owen clocked Hunter blatantly with the belt! **
Owen Hart stood over Triple H as the "Black Hart" had just taken out the WWF European Champion with his own title! Owen scared off Chyna as he tried attending to Hunter, Owen applying the Sharpshooter and refusing to break it! Officials came out as RAW Saturday Night came to a close!
| WWF WarZone @ 10:02-10:52 CT |
The opening video package for the War Zone aired, and Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduced us to the War Zone, promoting the next hour of WWF RAW is WAR on Saturday night!
[Q6] 5) The Rock & Faarooq def. Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie @ 7:15 - What an energetic way to come back to the War Zone as Faarooq and The Rock seemed to be in danger against the dangerous duo of Chainsaw Charlie and Cactus Jack. Charlie started off with The Rock, the man he had previously pinned at No Way Out of Texas, and J.R. once again noted how Charlie should now be in contention to the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Charlie and Cactus worked over Rock as Faarooq seemed slightly unenthusiastic about the situation, as he has been since late last year. Faarooq got the tag at last and he delivered a big spinebuster on Charlie, then keeping him restrained from Charlie and working over him. Rock nailed his obnoxious People's Elbow to the disapproval of this crowd, Cactus making the tag and clearing house, but then accidentally clotheslining Charlie out of the ring instead of Rock. Jack turned around to a Dominator for the loss. **
Faarooq celebrated his win as Chainsaw Charlie looked furious at ringside. Cactus Jack slowly got up and got in Charlie's face about getting in his way for some reason. The Rock and Faarooq left victorious as Jack and Charlie got into an argument in the ring.
Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler promoted what was coming up on the War Zone, scheduled to feature Ken Shamrock against Jeff Jarrett; video footage of Sable and Marc Mero's marital rehabilitation date on Valentine's Day; comments from Paul Bearer after last night; The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust against Barry Windham; And in our main event, Road Dogg Jesse James takes on Stone Cold Steve Austin!
An advertisement aired, promoting WWF WrestleMania XIV, live on pay-per-view on Sunday 29th March 1998, six weeks away from Boston, Massachusetts. | - Commercial Break - | 6) Kurrgan the Interrogator (w/The Jackyl) def. Barry Windham @ 2:22 - Kurrgan had a change of personality in this one as Kurrgan was wearing camoflauge and a red bandana, whilst the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust was wearing Marilyn Manson facepaint and clothing. Luna Vachon suited with him as Barry Windham, the veteran in professional wrestling had a game taking down Kurrgan, but he managed to do it with his almighty power in the opening moments. Kurrgan used his size and numbers game as he grabbed a clawhold on Windham's skull. Barry fired back, the original Blackjack member managing to take him down with the Western Lariat! Windham pinned but TAFKA Goldust got on the apron. Windham chased him down but Kurrgan got up and gave Barry the Chokeslam for the win. n/a
Kurrgan celebrated his win as The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust and Luna Vachon joined Kurrgan in the ring, the trio happy to be victorious, and this was a bizarre team here in the World Wrestling Federation. Justin Hawk Bradshaw was shown in the backstage area watching his former partner, Barry Windham laid out, and he was laughing about it!
In the backstage area we see Paul Bearer stood with the "Big Red Machine" Kane, as Paul pronounced Kane still undefeated, 1998 being the year of Kane! For a man who debuted this past October, the "Big Red Machine" has destroyed the "Phenom" and his brother, the supposedly fearless Undertaker; brutally damaged the deranged Mankind; And also dismantled the "Texas Rattlesnake" Stone Cold Steve Austin. Bearer speaks about how Kane was beating Austin's ass from one side of the arena to the other last night, and at one point a gong was heard. And everybody thought The Undertaker would show up. But Kane knew he wouldn't, because he was still in that casket on January 18th, set on fire and burning to ashes! Bearer talked about dominating the WWF, targeting Vader this Monday on RAW is WAR!
[Q7] Raining was heard, the Undertaker's flaming symbol shown. It dimmed out as a gong was heard.
| - Commercial Break - | Jim Cornette was in the ring as we returned to the War Zone, introducing to everybody the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion, Jeff Jarrett. "Double J" presented himself to everybody as they were then interrupted by Ken Shamrock.
7) Non-Title: Ken Shamrock def. Jeff Jarrett (c) w/Jim Cornette @ 7:22 - A back and forth match as this feud started earlier tonight. "Double J"'s ego was riding after winning the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship last Sunday at No Way Out of Texas, Jarrett now seemingly cocky all the time sporting shades and new shorts tonight. The "World's Most Dangerous Man" was not about to let Jarrett walk all over him though, Shamrock also victorious last Sunday in an all-out war with the Nation of Domination. Shamrock applied the Ankle Lock on Jarrett before breaking it as Shamrock seemed vicious and relentless, all in one. Jim Cornette watched at ringside as he yelled, ranting how Ken was doing everything wrong. Shamrock soon applied the Ankle Lock again when the theme of the Rock played! The crowd booed as Shamrock focused on Rock stupidly. Jeff then came from behind, the Stroke connecting for the win! **1/4
Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win as "Double J" grabbed his NWA North American Heavyweight Championship and evacuated the ring with Jim Cornette as Vader hit the ring! Vader called for Jarrett as the announcers hyped how Vader would get a rematch with Jarrett for the belt this Monday on RAW is WAR!
Jim Ross talked in disgust with Jerry Lawler as the "King" defended Marc Mero about the footage from Valentine's Day, the date with Sable to perhaps save their marriage. On the date, the two went to mini-golf, where Sable seemed more than happy to 'accidentally' club "Marvelous" Marc Mero in the balls with the club numerous times before going out to an Italian dinner. The two seemed to talk about their differences lately before a nice waitress came along, and Mero seemed more interested in her than Sable. Sable was disgusted and tossed her spaghetti meal at Mero's face. Later on, Mero tried to talk to Sable and hold her hand on the walk home just for Sable to reject it. Mero checked the time, it only being 8pm. Mero called someone on his phone and a black girl with platted black hair went on the exact same date!
Marc Mero was shown in the backstage area as Jim Ross asked Mero about how glad he felt cheating on Sable in the end on Valentine's Day; his own wife! Mero tells J.R. that he feels simply "Marvelous". Mero told us that Jacqueline is a wonderful girl, and much more meaningful to him than Sable. He grins as J.R. notes how Sable was at home moving out of Mero's apartment apparently this week.
[Q8] The WWF Tag Team Champions, the New Age Outlaws were shown walking down a corridor, and Road Dogg Jesse James & Bad Ass Billy Gunn team up against Stone Cold Steve Austin and a partner of his choice, next!
| - Commercial Break - | 8) Non-Title: Stone Cold Steve Austin & Max Mini def. The New Age Outlaws (c) @ 9:05 - Yes, Stone Cold Steve Austin decided to choose one of the premiere minis here in the World Wrestling Federation over anybody on the roster as the "Texas Rattlesnake" just stomped a mudhole in the New Age Outlaws single-handedly. Austin just dug right into Bad Ass Billy Gunn and the New Age Outlaws really didn't know what hit them exactly. Austin was relentless to get the WWF Tag Team Champions out of the way, and he nailed a big Stunner on Gunn early on just for Jesse James to dive on Steve Austin, the match continuing. Max Mini would get a blind tag stupidly, as he was quickly picked apart by the massive WWF Tag Team Champions. The crowd booed as the announcers couldn't stand the Outlaws for delivering a Spike Piledriver on Max Mini! They went to pick up the win but Austin went back in and delivered Stunners to both Road Dogg and Bad Ass! Austin put Max Mini on top of Jesse James for the win! **
Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated the win as Max Mini remained down, the official attending to him. The New Age Outlaws soon dove at the "Texas Rattlesnake" from behind, Billy Gunn and Jesse James delivering a heinous Spike Piledriver to Stone Cold! The crowd booed with great fury as Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chyna and Mike Tyson watched from the backstage area, and Austin was in for a hell of a ride going into WrestleMania XIV! The War Zone went off the air.

I'm going to give this a whirl as it's unfair when you always reply to me. I don't remember a lot of '98 as I had only just started watching wrestling at the time, I only vaguely remember watching Mike Tyson side with DX and hating him for it, haha. Anyway, here goes...
RAW, I love that DX hold all the gold, and this was a great segment to open up the show. The Main Event should be good, and I am intrigued as to who Austin will choose. Owen Hart strikes me as a possibility. A win for the Nation of Domination is good for me, always a fan of theirs, and I hope they win later on as well. Ah, so it won't be Owen in the Main Event if he's taking on Triple H, but hopefully he gets some retribution. A good return victory for Fatu, and The Jackyl leaving Recon is interesting. Jeff Jarrett versus Ken Shamrock should be one to watch later tonight. Happy to see TAKA Michinoku pick up the victory and retain the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship, he's the best choice for Champion right now. A disqualification finish was alright, and Owen did get some revenge, so all is well. As I hoped, the Nation pick up a second victory. An argument between Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie is unusual, but can't wait to see what comes of it. Kurrgan with a victory is great, and I love his pairing with Goldust. A possibility of The Oddities? A good segment from Paul Bearer and Kane, and I can't wait for The Undertaker to return for the feud, which is obviously going to happen. Jeff Jarrett getting the victory was unexpected, but this Ken Shamrock/The Rock feud interests me. Possible WrestleMania match here? Classic 90's RAW segment with Marc Mero and Sable. Loved the Main Event, and the addition of Max Mini made it that much sweet, seeing Austin basically manhandle DX by himself. A good way to close the show.
I shall be reading on, keep this up.

That damn dog show... Oh how I hate that dog show. I like the way you're using Tyson, you capture his personality very well. Tag team main events seemed to happen a lot in the attitude era and they were always entertaining. Nice way to build that match up. Nice six-man tag, good way to get The Rock and the Nation heel heat with that finish. Glad Fatu got the win, he could be built up and be big. Don't make him Rikishi either, keep him as Fatu. Interesting aftermath. TAKA vs. Taylor was a good match, and I'm glad Scorpio may fued with him for the title. You're really using Owen well! Holding HHH in the Sharpshooter like that is great, really shows that he's done with DX's crap. Jack and Charlie arguing makes me happy, if those two get in a fued I'll pee. Great promo by Bearer, good way to talk up the monster that Kane has been. Ooooh man, Taker's coming back. Got a good laugh out of Austin picking Max Mini, great main event. Not too sure on having Austin get spiked though, I think he should have a ton of momentum on DX going into Mania. Overall, though, a great show from you sir.

This was a really weird time period for the WWF in my opinion. Plenty of wrestlers just on the cusp of being main eventers, but just not making the transition from mid-carder to superstar. Plenty of talent to work with however.
Guys like Owen and Ken Shamrock are putting on good matches with other up-and-coming stars every week, and that's something I love about this diary. Owen's "Black Hart" gimmick is glorious, he could go all the way to the WWF Title with this schtick.
Austin is solid as usual. Keep it up!
