| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 9th March 1998 |

Wheeling, WV - Wheeling Civic Center

A replay from last week's episode of the War Zone aired, as Owen Hart was challenging for the WWF Championship once again against Shawn Michaels, the "Black Hart" close to winning the title when Cactus Jack attacked him! Jack left Owen a mess in the ring as the show went off the air. The opening video package for WWF RAW aired, and Jim Ross and Michael Cole introduced us to RAW is WAR, three weeks away from WrestleMania XIV!
The theme of Cactus Jack hit to kick off the show, the crowd booing enormously as the maniacal Cactus Jack himself made his way down the rampway. Jack climbed into the ring and grabbed the microphone, no weapons in hand tonight thankfully, as Jack began to talk about how this last few weeks he's became more and more aware at how much he has declined in recent weeks. He's given it his all, everybody loves him. Everybody wants Mick Foley to entertain them! But in actuality, they need to realise he is out to be remembered; not as one hardcore son of a bitch, but as a memorable superstar in the World Wrestling Federation! Jack states that he wants title gold, and nobody allowed him to get it. Jack states how in a few minutes he will challenge for the WWF Tag Team Championships against the New Age Outlaws with a man he does not appreciate being a team with anymore, Terry Funk. He says that he hopes Funk doesn't drop dead in the next few minutes, because this match means something to him.
1) WWF Tag Team Championships: The New Age Outlaws (c) vs Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie |

This match is technically months in the making, as Chainsaw Charlie made his debut/return here on RAW is WAR helping Cactus Jack scare off the New Age Outlaws. Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James have been seriously bad business in the tag team division since their union as the Outlaws, taking out Legion of Doom, defeating every noteworthy team in the WWF, and even taking out midgets and threatening the main event for WrestleMania XIV. The Outlaws worked over Charlie as Cactus didn't seem too interested in helping out. Charlie tried to make the tag, but he walked away instead! Jesse James then took things too far and just slammed a steel chair into the spine of Charlie!

Winners: Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie by disqualification; the New Age Outlaws retain the WWF Tag Team Championships @ 3:23 [*3/4]

The crowd booed as Billy Gunn grabbed a chair as well, and the New Age Outlaws started assaulting Chainsaw Charlie as Cactus Jack just walked away from it all! The theme of D-Generation X hit as the crowd booed, Shawn Michaels, Mike Tyson, Triple H and Chyna all heading to the ring as we cut to a commercial! -- Commercial Break --Returning to RAW is WAR, Shawn Michaels was on the microphone as Triple H kicked Chainsaw Charlie in the ribs, the "Heartbreak Kid" talking about how this was surreal for an episode of Monday Night RAW; not the War Zone. But he says that D-Generation X are here to shake things up each and every week, and their goal is that at WrestleMania XIV, it will be X-Raided. THEY will be calling the shots, and everything will go on as they say goes on. HBK gives the microphone to "Iron" Mike Tyson as the WWF European Champion slammed the steel chair into the spine of poor Terry Funk, the New Age Outlaws letting Triple H do all the damage now. "Iron" Mike stated how in three weeks, he'd be watching Shawn obliterate Steve Austin, and stated how Stone Cold will not dare step in line with the ringside enforcer, because if so, he'd get his ass handed to him! The Outlaws spoke about how nobody dared confront them in the tag team division, and they don't blame the competition! They would destroy them, like Max Mini, almost like Steve Austin, and definitely like the Legion of Doom! Triple H delivered a Pedigree to Charlie, Charlie now bleeding and tossed to the ringside area. Vince McMahon's voice was heard though, yelling to stop the madness as officials ran out to attend to Chainsaw Charlie! McMahon stood with Commissioner Slaughter, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco as McMahon yelled about how DX just couldn't remain somewhat civilised! The minis are all suing for injuries done to Max Mini, Steve Austin is his main event and they need him through McMahon absolutely despising Stone Cold and Terry Funk didn't deserve a minute of that beating! McMahon states how at WrestleMania XIV, the New Age Outlaws will be in a match, their opponents will be the winner of a tag team battle royal taking place earlier on in the night. Triple H: will defend the European title; against Terry Funk! The crowd cheered as DX seemed confident still. In the backstage area we see Jim Cornette with Jeff Jarrett, Cornette saying how the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship definitely wasn't going to be a walk in the park to hold, but "Double J" will become one of the greatest renowned champions as long as he has Cornette managing him. -- Commercial Break --2) Justin Hawk Bradshaw vs Vader |

A hard-hitting match as Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw has previously shown interest in the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship situation. An interesting situation as Vader was definitely relentless on getting revenge on Jim Cornette and Jeff Jarrett, Vader just pounding away at Bradshaw, but Bradshaw wouldn't have any of it, fighting back with some furious hard punches and clotheslines. Bradshaw seemed to be working on the chest for the Western Lariat, but Vader easily overpowered and took control. Bradshaw nailed a fallaway slam, impressive for Vader's build and he then set up for the Lariat but Vader powerslammed Bradshaw and nailed the Vader Bomb for the win!

Winner: Vader @ 4:49 [**]

Vader celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, Vader yelling about how he wanted Jim Cornette's ass on a silver platter, Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw soon getting up and knocking Vader out with a big Lariat! Bradshaw left standing despite losing. In the backstage area Kevin Kelly is stood with the Rock as the WWF Intercontinental Champion was asked about his awards to the Nation of Domination tonight. Rock tells Kelly not to worry a damn thing about it, because he'd see for himself in just a few minutes. And it was going to be damn good. D-Lo Brown, Kama Mustafa and Mark Henry followed him off as Faarooq looked annoyed, Faarooq saying how The Rock was in way over his head. We go to the WrestleMania XIV report with Michael 'P.S.' Hayes, who appears to not be going by the persona 'Dok Hendrix' anymore. The former Fabulous Freebird promoted the show to feature "Iron" Mike Tyson as the ringside enforcer for Shawn Michaels vs Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship; Baseball player, Pete Rose will also be in attendance! In addition to this, as announced earlier tonight, the New Age Outlaws will defend the WWF Tag Team Championships against the winning team of a tag team battle royal taking place earlier in the evening; Triple H defends the WWF European Championship against Chainsaw Charlie. But in a great revelation, on Sunday, March 21st, USA Network will air a WWF special called 'Sunday Night HeAT' to promote WrestleMania XIV, from 6PM! -- Commercial Break --A replay from last week on the War Zone is shown, as Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust attacked Barry Windham and Justin Hawk Bradshaw during the New Blackjacks' match. 3) The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust and Kurrgan (w/Luna Vachon) vs The Godwinns |

The Godwinns were recent victims of Kurrgan and the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust, unfortunately Henry O. Godwinn and Phineous I. Godwinn were not very good threats to the dominant new tag team on the scene. Kurrgan seemed to adopt the new bizarre style of the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust, wearing three-quarter jeans and a golden shirt low cut. Henry and Phineous attempted to double-team Goldust early on but Kurrgan soon got the tag and overpowered both man, this gargantuan monster, Kurrgan delivered a double Chokeslam to both of the Godwinns, weighing 550 pounds plus for the easy win!

Winners: The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust and Kurrgan @ 2:48 [/li][li]

The crowd booed as Kurrgan and the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust celebrated their win over the downed Godwinns. J.R. and Michael Cole hyped them being apart of the tag team contenders battle royal at WrestleMania. Ken Shamrock was shown with Kevin Kelly in the backstage area as the "World's Most Dangerous Man" was asked about what he was planning to do about the Nation of Domination tonight. Shamrock talked about how he's been relentless since December, and they've brought him to insanity! Tonight, somebody out of the Nation will wind up with a broken ankle! -- Commercial Break --The crowd booed as we return to RAW, the theme of the Nation of Domination playing loudly into the arena. The Rock led the troops out to the ring, Kama Mustafa, Mark Henry and D-Lo Brown all seemingly confident tonight and not dressed to compete. Faarooq trailed lastly, looking unsatisfied as he was earlier. The ring was already set up with blanket-covered gifts for the Nation members. The Rock talked about how he joined the Nation and brought them up to be all individual characters that just so happen to dominate everything here in the World Wrestling Federation. Thanks to The Rock's personal skills of leadership, he brought the Nation up to be truly dominate following the extermination of Caucasians in the group. He said that he has gifts for everything they've done. He hands Mark, D-Lo and Kama Rolex watches as they seem quite pleased. Faarooq is stood in the background, Rock promising him that he hasn't forgotten him, and that he has been a great member of the Nation as well. Rock hands Faarooq a portrait of the WWF Intercontinental Champion himself! Faarooq looks pissed off but suddenly Ken Shamrock arrives, steel chair in hand! Shamrock delivers the Belly-to-Back Suplex on Mustafa and runs off D-Lo and The Rock before Shamrock took out Rock and applied the Ankle Lock! Faarooq didn't do anything, instead leaving! RAW went off the air.

The opening video package for the War Zone aired as Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler introduce us to the War Zone, the second hour of RAW is WAR tonight, featuring Stone Cold facing Kane inside a steel cage, and apparently The Undertaker will return! The theme of Owen Hart hit to kick off the War Zone, the "Black Hart" making his first appearance since being screwed out of the WWF Championship by Cactus Jack last week. A replay from earlier tonight is shown as Owen climbed into the ring, the "Black Hart" in no time for a happy discussion, as he snatched the microphone from Michael Cole in the ring and talked about how he was sick and tired of everybody screwing him over here in the World Wrestling Federation, and everybody is unsatisfied with the ways of D-Generation X as it is. If Mick Foley wants to get in his way, he doesn't care if it's for the WWF Championship or anything, he needs to go through the most deserving man on the roster first; "Black Hart" Owen Hart! Owen calls Cactus Jack out to WrestleMania XIV, as the crowd cheered, Owen yelling for Cactus countless times. Cactus' voice was soon heard, as the man himself came out asking Owen if this was really what he wanted. For Cactus to destroy him in front of more viewers than ever on pay-per-view, in front of the Hart Family that'll be watching their last Hart to be proud of be dismantled, bloodied up and annihilated. Why? Because he wanted revenge on him! Cactus laughed maniacally, as he'd accept only if Owen made it a Street Fight! The crowd cheered as Owen accepted point blank! Jack laughed, saying he'd see Owen in a few weeks. Owen remained in the ring as he's in action next! -- Commercial Break --4) Owen Hart vs Savio Vega (w/Los Boricuas) |

Los Boricuas were obviously at ringside for this, and the "Black Hart" was on edge all the way, as Cactus Jack was now facing Owen at WrestleMania XIV in perhaps a bad decision on Owen's part. But it was against the odds tonight for the "Black Hart", having to take on the leader of Los Boricuas. Owen took out Jose Estrada before the bell sounded, and then was distracted by Jesus Castillo. This led to Savio taking advantage and going right after the neck of Owen and using his unorthodox yet agile style to take down the "Black Hart". Savio tried the Spinning Heel Kick but Owen blocked it. Suddenly, the Disciples of the Apocalypse arrived as Chainz, 8-Ball and Skull came down on motorcycles, riding away Jesus, Jose and Miguel! Owen applied the Sharpshooter for the win.

Winner: Owen Hart @ 4:38 [**]

Owen Hart celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, the "Black Hart" obviously ready for Cactus Jack at WrestleMania, but in a Street Fight? Owen may be in over his head! Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler promoted what was still to come here on the War Zone in this hour, scheduled to feature TAKA Michinoku and Scorpio taking on the Headbangers as well as Gangrel in action, plus in the main event, Kane taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin in a steel-cage match! Jacqueline was shown in the backstage area at the water cooler getting a drink as she was suddenly blindsighted by Sable! This attracted a crowd as Sable started tearing at the blouse of Jacqueline and yelling about how Jacqueline had ruined her marriage! Many officials seperated the two as "Marvelous" Marc Mero himself appeared, yelling at Sable to get out of his life! -- Commercial Break --An advertisement aired promoting WWF WrestleMania XIV, live on pay-per-view on Sunday 29th March 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts. 5) TAKA Michinoku and Scorpio vs The Headbangers |

The Headbangers were both seeming to volley for a WWF Light Heavyweight Championship shot before TAKA Michinoku lost the title to Scorpio last week, and Scorpio was teaming with the man he beat for the title last week, Michinoku to take on the new opposition. The announcers revealed that TAKA had filed for a rematch at WrestleMania XIV, and so this made the match slightly awkward, Scorpio not being able to trust Michinoku. The Headbangers would take advantage of this, as Michinoku was worked over and kept away from the new champion. Scorpio eventually got the tag as he made the save, taking out both Mosh and Thrasher repeatedly before setting up for the 450 Splash on Mosh, and Michinoku accidentally springboarded at the interfering Thrasher and crotching Scorpio as a result. Mosh went up and the Stage Dive connected giving the Headbangers the win!

Winner: The Headbangers @ 5:26 [**1/4]

The Headbangers celebrated their win as Mosh and Thrasher hightailed it from TAKA Michinoku, TAKA disappointed in the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion holder, Scorpio. The two got into a shoving contest as Jerry Lawler stood up, the "King" talking about how TAKA doesn't deserve to be all over the Light Heavyweight Championship still, as Lawler tells Michinoku that next week on RAW he will face Brian Christopher with the winner meeting Scorpio at WrestleMania XIV! Michinoku looks annoyed. In the backstage area we see Stone Cold Steve Austin as Michael Cole stands by, asking the "Texas Rattlesnake" for pre-match thoughts going into the steel-cage main event tonight. Austin states how he knows the "Big Red Machine" can be beaten, and he would have annihilated him at No Way Out of Texas last month if he was given the chance to. Austin mentions how tonight he'd be kicking some ass whether it be Shawn Michaels, whether it be Mike Tyson, whether it be Kane, Paul Bearer. Or even the Undertaker! -- Commercial Break --An advertisement aired, promoting a WWF television special on Sunday, March 21st on USA Network from 6PM Eastern, it's Sunday Night HeAT! A special hour dedicated to WrestleMania! The theme of Sable hit as the crowd cheered, Sable walking out to the rampway and mentioning about how she'd like to announce her divorce from "Marvelous" Marc Mero happily, and that all she wants from him now, is a match with his little slut of a princess, Jacqueline! The crowd cheered as the women of the World Wrestling Federation have certainly reached bitter heights as of late! The M&M's WrestleMania Millenium Moment spot aired, showcasing WrestleMania XII where Shawn Michaels beat Bret Hart in the sudden death overtime of an Ironman match to win the WWF Championship. A vignette aired, promoting the debut of a horny new addition to the WWF locker room, Val Venis. The vignette depicted woman groaning and then showing Val Venis in bed with a beautiful blonde girl in his arms. The Jackyl was in the ring as we returned to the War Zone, Jackyl talking about how the Oddity power in the World Wrestling Federation would overthrow everything. Jackyl introduces his new focus, Gangrel as the crowd booed. Gangrel rose from underneath the rampway with candles on a table in front of him, Gangrel walking with a champagne glass of red liquid (or blood) as he got ready for action. 6) Gangrel (w/The Jackyl) vs The Brooklyn Brawler |

The first time we have seen the Brooklyn Brawler in the World Wrestling Federation this year, as the Brooklyn Brawler was definitely in for a brawl, trying to make 1998 his year. Gangrel certainly is an original creature, as Brawler tried to get in offense on the vampire-lookalike to no reaction from Gangrel. Gangrel took Brawler down with choke holds and tossed him around like a ragged doll. The Jackyl preached from ringside, heard in the ring as Gangrel quickly finished him off with the Impaler DDT.

Winner: Gangrel @ 3:03 [*1/2]

Gangrel celebrated the win as The Jackyl handed him his glass of blood, Gangrel downing it before spitting it in the face of the Brooklyn Brawler! The Jackyl considered this a bloodbath, the two then leaving. Paul Bearer was shown walking down a corridor, leading Kane as up next, Stone Cold Steve Austin takes on the "Big Red Machine" once again in a steel-cage match in the main event of War Zone! -- Commercial Break --The steel-cage was lowered from the ceiling as gongs were heard as well as thunder sound effects. The lights flickered, ominous of The Undertaker? 7) Steel-Cage Match: Kane (w/Paul Bearer) vs Stone Cold Steve Austin |

A hot main event as this rematch from No Way Out of Texas was met with plenty of interference, D-Generation X obviously at ringside. Stone Cold Steve Austin was hell bent on retribution after losing in the first-ever Last Man Standing match, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Chyna were at ringside and Austin went for Kane and didn't seem interested in being distracted by Paul Bearer and DX. Kane kept getting up but Austin kept slamming Kane into the steel cage, the "Big Red Machine" and the "Texas Rattlesnake" competing inside the confounds of the square linked cage, both men not holding back. Austin nailed four Stunners as Kane nailed the Tombstone Piledriver but Austin ended up getting up and escaping through the door, into the hands of Shawn Michaels!

Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin @ 8:49 [**1/4]

Stone Cold exploded into Shawn Michaels before Triple H jumped Steve Austin! Austin attacked the WWF European Champion before Chyna low blowed Austin! Mike Tyson then appeared, "Iron" Mike laying Austin out again! Austin was brought back into the cage for Kane as Paul Bearer ordered another Tombstone Piledriver, it connecting! Shawn sealed the cage door as officials tried to get in, and the lights went out! They returned and The Undertaker was lowered from the rafters on the rope holding the steel cage up! Undertaker then dove fifteen feet on all of DX! Kane and Undertaker stood face to face, Paul Bearer terrified as the War Zone went off the air!

WWF Monday Night RAW: Before i get started, I want to let you know that I wasnt watching wrestling at this time, so my reply might not be that good. Foley's heelish side is really showing. Foley & Charlie winning here by DQ doesn't make both teams look weak. The DX segment was good. Vader over Kurrgan is the right call. Goldust & Kurrgan over The Godwinns was good. The match probably was not good. Owen Hart winning was good. I like Owen from past matches I saw on DVD. Id rather have Taka & Scorpio go over then The Headbangers. Gangrel certanly was going to win the match. Stone Cold vs Kane is a great Main Event. Stone Cold winning was the right call. This was a good show. Cant wait for Mania!

-An interesting, yet realistic and odd promo for Mick Foley. Looking forward to the upcoming match. -Nice tag team match, and the DQ is fine to keep either teams from looking weak. -Good promo for DX here, and it was nice for a great main event tonight. HHH vs. Funk should be great as should the tag match. -Vader was a monster back then, so him winning here was nothing big. Though it gains him overness. -Learning alot from this diary so far. Goldust and Kurrgan going over should a solid match. -Owen Hart over Savio Vega is a good one since Hart needed a win off his close to winning the WWF Title last week match. -As you noted this is the first match the BB has had so he obvious had to be rusty. Good win for Gangrel. -Awesome main event and the Steel Cage was a good way to end it. Wow, the Kane/Taker feud going on, Austin/HBK. this is going to be a spectacular WrestleMania. -Great show adding to an awesome thread. Can't wait for WrestleMania now.

I have to say, I'm really intrigued by the Cactus Jack angle. His promo work in this situation would've been amazing. Weird how Mr. McMahon stopped the beatdown, although I did like how Terry Funk was getting beat on while there was a promo being cut. Not a fan of Triple H/Funk at WrestleMania, although the Tag Title idea was good. Nice to see Vader win, he was criminally underused in the WWF. SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT!! Goldust & Kurrgan are definitely an interesting team, maybe a new Oddities? Loved the Nation promo, and Shamrock's involvement. Owen Hart vs. Cactus Jack at WrestleMania has the potential to be fantastic. Obvious to put him over Savio as well. Sable/Jacqueline at 'Mania? Surprised to see the Headbangers win ever, but I can sense the tension between TAKA & Scorpio. I like the pairing of Gangrel and The Jackyl, wonder if you'll go through with The Brood though. Great main event and excellent aftermath with Undertaker flying to the outside. Overall, this was a great and realistic episode of Raw. You know how to capture real life.

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 12th March 1998
-- RAW is WAR was not a very good show in the ring, as per usual. In fact, it returned to what it had became heading into the year in terms of the fact it benefitted 95% on entertainment rather than actual wrestling. Due to the build of WrestleMania XIV, there was a lot of disruptions to matches, Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie vs the New Age Outlaws: a match three months in the making getting three minutes to benefit Jack's maniacal personality. Other matches just seemed to be there to fill time, such as Gangrel vs Brooklyn Brawler & The Godwinns against Kurrgan and TAFKA Goldust. Other matches just never got off the ground, such as Owen Hart vs Savio Vega & Vader vs Justin Hawk Bradshaw. The light heavyweight division still garners best match of the show, the Headbangers, TAKA Michinoku and Scorpio putting on a good show. Kane and Steve Austin despite the interference was heated, probably Kane's best match to date. The Undertaker made his official return in a lame finish; after RAW went off the air scaring off Kane uncharacteristically; hopefully Kane isn't another man fearing the 'Phenom'. This show also ran a vignette promoting the debut of Val Venis: Sean Morley, USWA developmental wrestler finally getting the call up. He's a good technician, apparently.
-- WCW recently fired various wrestlers such as Steven Regal, Prince Iaukea, Syxx, Dave Taylor and Vincent. Syxx was injured at time of release, it is currently unknown if the WWF have interest in them, though time will tell.
-- WWF WrestleMania XIV is on 03/29/98. The current card is: - Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin for the WWF title; Mike Tyson is the ringside enforcer. - Owen Hart vs Cactus Jack in a Street Fight. - Triple H vs Terry Funk for the WWF European title. - A multi-team battle royal match, the winners vs New Age Outlaws for the WWF Tag Team titles. - Scorpio vs TAKA Michinoku or Brian Christopher for the WWF Light Heavyweight title. -- Pete Rose & Gennifer Flowers will be in attendance.
-- WCW has Uncensored on Sunday. The final card is: - Sting vs Scott Hall for the WCW World Heavyweight title. - Hollywood Hogan vs Randy Savage in a Steel-Cage match. - Bret Hart vs Curt Hennig. - Kevin Nash vs The Giant. - Lex Luger vs Scott Steiner. - Eddie Guerrero vs Booker T for the WCW World Television title. - Chris Jericho vs Dean Malenko for the WCW World Cruiserweight title. - Diamond Dallas Page vs Raven vs Chris Benoit for the WCW US Heavyweight title. - Juventud Guerrera vs Konnan.
-- WCW Nitro defeated WWF RAW once again this week, 4.9 rating to 3.6 rating.
-- Other rumored matches for WrestleMania XIV include Jeff Jarrett vs Vader for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship with Jim Cornette handcuffed to the ring post as well as Sable against Jacqueline & Ken Shamrock vs The Rock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
-- In results from RAW is WAR on 03/09/98: - Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie def. The New Age Outlaws by DQ; the Outlaws retain the WWF Tag Team titles - Vader def. Justin Hawk Bradshaw - TAFKA Goldust & Kurrgan def. The Godwinns - Owen Hart def. Savio Vega - The Headbangers def. TAKA Michinoku & Scorpio - Gangrel def. The Brooklyn Brawler - Steve Austin def. Kane in a Steel-Cage match
-- In results from Monday Nitro on 03/09/98: - The Cat def. Damien - Sick Boy def. Lenny Lane - Brian Adams def. Kenny Kaos - Raven & Saturn def. Chris Benoit & Diamond Dallas Page - The British Bulldog def. Konnan - Chris Jericho def. Disco Inferno - Booker T def. Chavo Guerrero Jr to retain the WCW World Television title - Ric Flair def. Curt Hennig by DQ - Scott Steiner & Scott Norton vs Lex Luger & Rick Steiner; no contest - Sting, Randy Savage & The Giant def. Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash

RAW is WAR, loving the opening segment with Cactus Jack. Him leaving Chainsaw Charlie was obvious as he doesn't want to team with him. Unusual to have it end via DQ though, they should have just picked up the victory. Good segment from DX, with the constant beating of poor Terry Funk. Vader with the victory seems necessary after the screwy finish last week. A good victory for Goldust and Kurrgan, but I doubt they'll win the Battle Royal at WrestleMania. The Nation segment was great, especially with Ken Shamrock finally getting his hands on The Rock. A Street Fight between Cactus Jack and Owen Hart at WrestleMania is definitely the way to go. Owen Hart with the victory was obvious as he needs it. The Headbangers winning due to a mistake was good, and I do hope TAKA Michinoku beats Brian Christopher next week and faces Scorpio at WrestleMania. Obvious victory for Gangrel over The Brooklyn Brawler. Stone Cold winning was a shock, but I loved the aftermath. I'm not sure I can see Undertaker diving 15 feet, but what the hell. Great way to close the show, and a good show overall.

-LOL, man! Foley is just so wishy-washy sometimes. - A couple of good matches added for Mania. Wonder who the Outlaws will end up facing. - It would be cool to see Bradshaw in the NWA NA championship title hunt. Maybe the New Blackjacks going for the NWA Tag Team Titles. - LOL @ Sunday Night Heat! Hope you make that a weekly show! - Hm, SO weird to see Kurrgan an Goldust team up. Interesting though. - Nice segment with The Nation. Almost replicating the real life segment. - I don't know about Owen wanting to wait til Wrestlemania to get his hands on Cactus after all those attacks and costing him the championship. I'd figure he'd want to do something to him ASAP. - Haha. The DOA scaring the Boriquas away sounds funny - Rematch at Wrestlemania for the LHW Title sounds cool, but wait! He has to face Brian Christopher first, could a triple threat be in order?? - LOL @ "Horny additon" Val Venis. - Oh, Brooklyn Brawler? Yeah, Gangrels winning. - I'd rather Austin & Tyson not have any physicality just yet. Wow Undertaker dove off the cage? Sounds badass.
Another great show, Dan. Looking forward to next week, although I feel you shoul hype Mania more. Maybe thats just me.

RAW: - Solid opening promo from Cactus Jack, and him walking out on Funk makes a lot of sense, but the DQ finish made no sense what so ever. You should have just done a straight finish and kept the post match assault. - The DX match segment alright, but I'm not a fan of the matches made for Mania. I hate the tag title challengers having to wrestle earlier in the show, it means either you have a tag title match with no build or a battle royal that is predictable. And Funk getting the euro title match is horrible, it should be used to highlight some young talent at Mania, not put in someone who shouldn't be near the title. - Good win for Vader and the build to an obvious Vader/ Jarrett match is going well. Bradshaw standing tall post match is bad booking, your focus should be on Vader/ Jarrett and you just made Vader look weak. - Decent tag match and a good win for Goldust and Kurrgan. They could do with a decent feud though to make them legit threats. - Nice segment with the Nation, I can see Farooq costing The Rock the title at WrestleMania, although I kinda want Rock to beat Shamrock and drop the belt to Farooq down the line. - Hart vs. Cactus Jack could be a fantastic match and has the potential to steal the show. The street fight stipulation makes a lot of sense, the match wouldn't really work otherwise. Good win for Hart as well, loving the build you've given this feud. - Decent tag match, although I think building Scorpio/ TAKA more about respect. TAKA/ Brian Christopher could be a good match, although it makes me wonder when Jerry Lawler got that kind of authority? - Cool to see Val Venis coming in, hope the guy does well. - Decent win for Gangrel, although I don't imagine the match being anything more than a sloppy brawl. - Nice main event, Austin going over was the right move. Four stunners in a nine minute match? Unlikely and definite overkill. I like the imagery of Austin diving out of the cage. Undertaker returning was cool and an Undertaker/ Kane bout at Mania would be cool. I can't see Undertaker jumping off the top of the cage tbh but this was 98, so stranger things happened. - A decent show but the booking was kind of sloppy and very hit and miss. Mania is being built up nicely though.

-Raw is War -Excuse the lame reply. -Decent Cactus promo to open up, I love his character. -Outlaws retaining was the best move, Jack walking away from the attack was a nice touch for his heel turn. -Great DX promo and Hunter kicking Funk's ass through out it was awesome. Huge matches added to Mania, the card is shaping up great so far. -Vader winning was best, Bradshaw taking Vader out post-match was interesting. -What a horrible tag match that would be. I'm sorry, but the Godwinns are just so meh to me. -Nice way to continue the Shamrock/Rock feud and the Faarooq/Rock heat in one promo, nice job. -Owen Hart versus Cactus Jack in a street fight? Hell yeahs! -Obvious win is obvious. -I smell a Women's match at Mania, they're both good workers, so it will be better than that mixed tag match. Oh my. -That would be an awesome lightweight tag match, and the TAKA/Scorpio match at Mania should be great. You use the division so well, something I'm struggling with at the moment. -I'm glad you're doing something with Jackyl, I have some plans for him down the line, but the pairing with Heath works so well. -Good win for Austin, but the ending confuses me. I had to read it a few times to realize Taker jumped off the cage, and he wasn't holding it in the air. LMAO. -Good show with nice build to Mania.

# | Dark Match | 1 | The Undertaker def. Cactus Jack by DQ |
| WWF RAW is WAR: Monday 16th March 1998 |

Phoenix, Arizona - America West Arena

A video package aired, promoting the closing of last week's RAW is WAR, Kane being defeated by Stone Cold Steve Austin in a steel cage match. D-Generation X at ringside, they all began to work over Austin, isolating Austin in the ring with Kane and Paul Bearer. However, the Undertaker returned, descending from the rafters and diving on everybody, coming face to face with Kane. The opening video package to RAW aired, as Jim Ross was on commentary with Michael Cole, two weeks from WrestleMania XIV!
Mr McMahon came out to the ring to loud boos, Commissioner Slaughter, Jack Lanza and Gerald Brisco following as the Chairman of the World Wrestling Federation climbed into the ring and began to discuss about how the WWF has taken a more edgier turn as of late. And with WrestleMania XIV around the corner, he realises how hot things are getting in the company. McMahon mentions how he can't wait to see what happens at WrestleMania, when Stone Cold takes on Shawn Michaels for the WWF Championship, and he experiences Mike Tyson screw Austin out of the title! He can't wait, but his main issue of concern is the entire D-Generation X faction. They walk around like they own what is his, and Commissioner Slaughter knows how to feel there. McMahon revealed that tonight on RAW, we will see Triple H take on Owen Hart. The New Age Outlaws will take on Steve Austin and a partner of his choosing; And also, Shawn Michaels will take on Vader! But that's not it, because this Sunday on USA, WWF presents Sunday Night HeAT, and it will be Shawn Michaels teaming with Triple H to face Stone Cold and Terry Funk! The crowd cheered at the announcements as the theme of The Nation hit, we cut to the commercial.
-- Commercial Break --
We return to RAW tonight as The Rock was in the ring with Kama Mustafa, Mark Henry and D-Lo Brown, the WWF Intercontinental Champion mentioning how in two weeks time, the 'Great One' has to put up with taking on and defeating once and for all, this maniacal man that this WWF crowd love, for whatever reasons they don't know, Ken Shamrock. They don't realise how Shamrock has an unfair advantage going into the match at WrestleMania, because Rock cannot compete tonight because of Shamrock's Ankle Lock injuring him last week. The crowd booed as Rock happily announced D-Lo Brown as taking his place.
1) D-Lo Brown (w/The Nation) vs Ken Shamrock |

This was an interesting match, a great opportunity for this protegé in the Nation, D-Lo Brown to make a name for himself and take down the "World's Most Dangerous Man", but Ken Shamrock was as aggressive as he has been in recent weeks, just tearing right into Brown and working on the ankle. However, with interference from Kama Mustafa and Mark Henry, D-Lo managed to gain offense and work away on the neck of Shamrock, soon preparing for the spinning spinebuster he calls 'Sky High', but Shamrock got out of it, delivering the belly-to-back suplex. Shamrock went to apply the Ankle Lock but Kama Mustafa took him out with a bicycle kick!

Winner: Ken Shamrock by disqualification @ 5:38 [**1/4]

The crowd booed as Kama Mustafa started to stomp away at Ken Shamrock, The Rock watching the whole thing as his Nation put the boots to the number one contender, Shamrock. Faarooq soon ran to the ring, semeingly to a mixed reaction and not wearing Nation attire. But he got into the ring and Rock glared at him, Faarooq instead watching from across the ring! The Nation left with Faarooq unsatisfied again. In the backstage area we see Jeff Jarrett with Jim Cornette, and Cornette was talking to "Double J" about how tonight Jarrett takes on Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw and that Jarrett needs to be careful, because where there's Bradshaw, Vader will be around, and he'll be surely after his NWA North American Heavyweight Championship. -- Commercial Break --Jim Ross and Michael Cole promoted this hour of RAW, scheduled to feature Shawn Michaels against Vader; Jeff Jarrett taking on Justin Bradshaw, plus TAKA Michinoku takes on Brian Christopher with the winner going to WrestleMania XIV to face Scorpio. Sable was in the ring as we returned to the ring, the beautiful blonde talking about how she was looking for men to raise some eyebrows for the World Wrestling Federation, because Marc Mero allowed her nothing. At that moment, Sable unstrapped the back of her blouse and showed us her bra! She then took off her bra to show her breasts! The crowd roared as USA Network digitalized the chest, Sable saying that this tease was for "Marvelous" Marc. 2) Non-Title Match: Jeff Jarrett (w/Jim Cornette) vs Justin Hawk Bradshaw |

Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw had a good showing tonight against the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion, Justin Bradshaw receiving a decent reaction from 15,000 strong in Phoenix, Bradshaw pounding at "Double J" and throwing him around the ring like a sack of potatoes. The announcers talked about how Bradshaw was full of potential but a complete jackass, and Cornette seemed to watch from ringside with great determination that Jarrett get the better of Bradshaw. Jarrett went after the braced knee of Bradshaw but Bradshaw soon fired back, going for the Lariat when Vader came out with a grin on his face! Bradshaw seemed to call Vader out when Jarrett low blowed Bradshaw; the official talking to Vader! Jarrett rolled Bradshaw up and got the win.

Winner: Jeff Jarrett @ 4:32 [*3/4]

Jeff Jarrett celebrated his win as the crowd booed, Vader then getting into the ring and giving the NWA North American Heavyweight Champion a big powerbomb! Jim Cornette ran around ringside, yelling for control when Vader grabbed a microphone and said that he has a match for the NWA title with Jarrett, and its date is March 29th! The crowd cheered as Vader left pleased. A graphic appeared, persuading us to tune into the War Zone where we will hear from The Undertaker! -- Commercial Break --3) TAKA Michinoku (w/Scorpio) vs Brian Christopher (w/Jerry Lawler) |

The winner of this match would be going to challenge Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XIV in two weeks, thus a lot was on the line. TAKA Michinoku and Brian Christopher have both fought many times in the past few months, particularly over the title, but this was getting personal. Jerry "the King" Lawler was at ringside, and Scorpio evened the odds by backing TAKA up, J.R. playing the fact that Jerry was Brian's father. Michinoku almost had the win many times, but Lawler kept getting on the apron and distracting the official to the crowd's displeasure. Scorpio soon got into a brawl with Lawler at ringside, distracting Christopher as he went for the Tenessee Jam. Michinoku went up and nailed a massive top rope hurricanrana on Brian for the win!

Winner: TAKA Michinoku @ 6:29 [**1/2]

TAKA Michinoku celebrated his win as Jerry Lawler looked angry at ringside, Scorpio celebrating with Michinoku, and TAKA will challenge Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship in potentially the biggest match of both men's lives in thirteen days at WrestleMania XIV! We see the WWF Champion walking in the backstage area, as up next, the "Heartbreak Kid" will do battle with Vader! -- Commercial Break --We return to RAW as the WWF Champion and leader of D-Generation X was in the ring, Shawn Michaels with Chyna as the "Heartbreak Kid" told everybody that "Iron" Mike Tyson was not here tonight, however he had a few words for Stone Cold Steve Austin from Mike: if Austin wants to get into it with him he can. But it will have to be in the parking lot next week on RAW is WAR. Shawn said that he couldn't wait, because Mike will be here next week, but only to fight Steve Austin. 4) Non-Title: Shawn Michaels (w/Chyna) vs Vader |

The "Heartbreak Kid" was definitely in an awkward meeting tonight, as Shawn Michaels in thirteen days will step into the ring with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and all of the odds will be in Shawn's favor. But tonight, they were not, as the man who once fought him for the WWF Championship two years ago, Vader stood in the ring with him and made him look like a mere toy. Vader tossed him around and made the fans believe that we were about to witness an unsurprising upset, but Shawn fired back, quickly digging for the knee of Vader. Shawn kept him down and even applied a figure-four leglock briefly, Vader getting free and powerbombing Michaels, HBK set up for the Vader Bomb but Jeff Jarrett ran to ringside with an acoustic guitar and he clocked Vader in the head with it!

Winner: Vader by disqualification @ 6:34 [**]

Shawn Michaels got up and delivered Sweet Chin Music to Vader as the WWF Champion smirked and Jeff Jarrett joined the "Heartbreak Kid" in the ring, Shawn telling Jarrett that he saw a ton of potential in him. Michaels celebrated with Jarrett, WWF Champion and NWA North American Champion in the ring as RAW went off the air.

We return to RAW is WAR in the second hour as Shawn Michaels was still in the ring, the WWF Champion and Chyna shortly joined by the theme of the New Age Outlaws, Billy Gunn and Jesse James making their way out to the ring and Bad Ass Billy Gunn slowly made their way out to the ring ranting about how the World Wrestling Federation don't seem to appreciate their method of life and that is, destroy the competition and become a monopoly. The Outlaws bragged about how they were the WWF Tag Team Champions and they were here to stay. Shawn talked about how D-Generation X expanded because he believed in Bad Ass Billy Gunn and Road Dogg Jesse James, and he's happy to have brought them up the right way. Shawn left as the opening video package to the War Zone aired. 5) Non-Title Match: The New Age Outlaws (w/Chyna) vs Stone Cold Steve Austin and Max Mini |

This was a rematch from last month, as the New Age Outlaws were faced with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Austin chose Max Mini of the mini division. The Outlaws took Austin out of action briefly with a Spike Piledriver, almost reinjuring the neck of Austin but also gave Mini a serious concussion with a Spike Piledriver. Mini was out for retribution tonight, and he flew at Billy Gunn in the opening moments, then just going right after him with headscissors and scaring him off a little. Austin dominated the Outlaws as Austin prepared for the Stunner quite quickly when Chyna got into the ring! Max Mini dove at her with a crossbody as Jesse James tried the Pumphandle Drop, Austin slipped out and tossed him over the top! The Stunner on Billy got the win.

Winners: Stone Cold Steve Austin and Max Mini @ 5:46 [**]

Stone Cold Steve Austin celebrated his win with Max Mini as the "Texas Rattlesnake" grabbed a microphone, talking about how he couldn't wait for WrestleMania XIV because when he steps in the ring face to face with Shawn Michaels, the "Heartbreak Kid" won't know what hit him and he would become the WWF Champion. But "Iron" Mike Tyson could definitely count on seeing him face to face next week on RAW! The crowd cheered as Austin delivered a Stunner to the charging Jesse James, Austin leaving to the crowd's delight. -- Commercial Break --An advertisement aired, promoting WWF WrestleMania XIV, live on pay-per-view on Sunday 29th March 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts. 6) Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust (w/Luna Vachon) vs The Disciples of the Apocalypse |

The Disciples of the Apocalypse followed the same pattern as the Godwinns and the Headbangers have in recent weeks, as The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust and Kurrgan had both got the correct formula to win the tag team battle royal in thirteen days at WrestleMania XIV, definitely having high odds. Skull and 8-Ball double-teamed Kurrgan and tried to keep him out of the match, both of the DOA going for a double powerbomb on Goldust when Kurrgan re-entered and applied a claw grip on Skull. Kurrgan tossed him out of the ring and nailed 8-Ball with a Chokeslam for the easy win.

Winners: Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust @ 2:59 [3/4]

The crowd booed as Kurrgan and the Artist Formerly Known As Goldust celebrated, when suddenly the Headbangers ran to the ring! They tried to get into it with Goldust and Kurrgan when the Godwinns charged out, as did Los Boricuas!? Phil LaFon and Doug Furnas, Mr Aguila and El Pantera, the Quebecers! Then the Rock 'n' Roll Express ran to the ring, the crowd shocked by their debut tonight, and rightly! The amount of teams ran Kurrgan and Goldust away, we're in for a real combat session at WrestleMania XIV! In the backstage area we see Cactus Jack with Kevin Kelly as Kelly asked Jack why he wanted this interview to take place, Cactus informing Kelly and to Owen Hart that he was not going to get involved in his match with Triple H tonight, because he knows how much Triple H hates him and he wants to see Hunter decimate Owen himself, the "Black Hart" will be bruised tonight, but then Cactus Jack will strike, and he will destroy Triple H for his WWF European Championship! -- Commercial Break --An advertisement aired, promoting WWF Sunday Night HeAT, a special this Sunday night on USA Network from 6PM. In the backstage area we see Marc Mero with Jacqueline as Jacqueline asks Mero about what Sable did earlier, and if he wants anything done about it. Mero says no, but Jacqueline won't allow it, kissing him and walking away, the "Marvelous" one left confused. 7) Non-Title Match: Triple H (w/Chyna) vs Owen Hart | This was the main event of the evening, as the "Black Hart" has had some history with the WWF European Champion, Triple H being the man in particular to screw Owen Hart out of the WWF Championship when facing Shawn Michaels. Owen almost became WWF European Champion in late 1997 but he was screwed by Chyna, and he needed to be careful of the "Ninth Wonder of the World" tonight especially. Cactus Jack watched on from the locker room as he claimed he would strike when Triple H and Owen Hart weren't looking, Hunter going for the shoulder of Owen and really preparing the Pedigree just for Owen to go for Sharpshooter again and again but Chyna kept appearing, the feline manager trying to hit Owen but the "Black Hart" blocked it and applied the Sharpshooter on Chyna! Triple H then capitalized, Pedigree connecting for the win! |

Winner: Triple H @ 8:18 [**1/2]

The crowd booed as Triple H celebrated his win, the WWF European Champion with Chyna but a camera man nailed Triple H with the camera! The camera man was revealed to be Terry Funk as he started to pound Hunter with the expensive camera, smashing it over the champion's head! Funk delivered a DDT to Chyna and the crowd were going nuts! Owen got up as Cactus Jack then ran out and Jack nailed Owen with a Double-Arm DDT! Funk then ran at Jack with a spear, all hell breaking loose on the War Zone! Officials piled out of the locker room, and Funk and Jack were restrained by officials. -- Commercial Break --Mr McMahon was shown in his office backstage as he revealed that next week on RAW is WAR, we would see Owen Hart team with Terry Funk to take on Cactus Jack and Triple H in a hardcore tag team match, but also, the Undertaker will take on Jeff Jarrett! On the rampway we see Jacqueline on the rampway as the crowd booed, Marc Mero soon following as Jacqueline talked to Sable about how she needs to know her place in the World Wrestling Federation because Jacqueline was going to knock her down! Jacqueline calls Sable out to next week on RAW is WAR, then leaving. "Marvelous" Marc Mero was left alone, he pondered to the crowd before leaving. Up next, the Undertaker returns to the War Zone! A video package aired of the rivalry between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin. -- Commercial Break --The theme of the "Phenom" hit as we returned to the final quarter hour of RAW is WAR, The Undertaker getting a heated reaction from this electric crowd in Phoenix, as Undertaker slowly walked out to the arena in the darkness, the crowd so excited to see the man who was once considered dead. Inside the ring laid a casket, and Undertaker slowly came to the ring stood in the centre, 'Taker summoning a spotlight. Undertaker spoke without a microphone, mentioning how he was back from the dead again. He says that he was set on fire by Paul Bearer and Kane. He was betrayed by his own flesh and blood. But the spirit rose again, and so did the body of The Undertaker. Undertaker yelled for the "Big Red Machine" as a meeting of Heaven and Hell occurred, the pyrotechnics of Kane going off! Paul Bearer charged out behind Kane, Kane seemingly power walk to meet his brother in the ring as Bearer yelled with Kane, pleading to not fight him. Undertaker asked Bearer why he was being so cowardly. 'Taker said that his brother, Kane that he knew was not a coward. He was a fearless bastard, and now he wants to hide? 'Taker notes how Kane has been through hell's fire and brimstone, and now he backs down! Undertaker challenged Kane to a match at WrestleMania XIV, as Bearer yelled that the match wouldn't happen. Kane shoved Bearer back and got on the apron, nodding his head! At that moment the two traded blows in the middle of the ring, Undertaker having the upper hand and grabbing the "Big Red Machine" by the throat, but Kane grabbed Undertaker by the throat! Undertaker and Kane were in chokeholds as the War Zone went off the air!

Really? You are doing another angle where Austin chooses his partner? He didn’t get anyone other than Mini last time, I don’t see him getting anyone different. Not a fan of that. I also don’t like Michaels and Austin being involved on HEAT. I know that HEAT was treated as the B show and some good talent were on there, but that is just way too big of a main event to be put on that show, IMO. I don’t mind the DQ finish to start the show. I hope we actually get a decent Rock/Faarooq feud. I am fully expecting Vader to win the title from Jarrett. The DQ finish makes sense, again, since you don’t want Vader to look weak or anything like that, the same goes for Michaels. At least the tag match wasn’t the main event this time around. Kind of wish that the Outlaws were to dominate Mini and get that heel heat by taking advantage of a midget. Hmm.. not liking HHH going over Owen, even with the interference. I don’t seem to remember HHH being involved with Mania in this. I could be wrong, but I simply don’t remember. Owen should have gone over, in my opinion. It was even a non-title bout. Well, maybe HHH will feud with Funk for the title. That doesn’t seem like a interesting match to me. Fantastic ending with Kane and Taker. Well done on that one Dan. Overall, I was kind of disappointed with a few of the matches. I like that you are making it drastically different from the real card, so kudos for that, but some of the buildup is something I don’t agree with.

RAW is WAR, not too fond of Stone Cold having to choose his partner again, since you only did that a few weeks ago. And as Bob said, that's a pretty big match for HeAT. Classic heel tactics by The Rock, and a DQ finish was good as it allows The Nation to get a good advantage over Shamrock. Jeff Jarrett defeating Bradshaw is for the best, and Vader declaring that he has another NWA Title match is good, and I expect him to win and keep the belt this time. Very happy that TAKA Michinoku won here and will now go on to WrestleMania to take on Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship. A DQ finish was interesting, but that's two in the first hour. HBK and Jarrett celebrating together would be good to close RAW. Obvious choice of Max Mini and obvious decision for them to win for the retribution. Happy to see Kurrgan and Goldust with yet another victory. I think Triple H going over Owen Hart wasn't needed as Hart has been screwed over far too many times lately. He needed this win. A great way to close the show with The Undertaker and Kane clashing. Overall, it was a good show, but not your best.

THE BRIT REPORT Presented by Mike Potter on Thursday 19th March 1998
-- RAW is WAR seemed to be a fresh program this week, surprisingly as it allowed some actual wrestling to take place, as compared to last week's unfortunate cramming of potential-filled matches. More matches were made for WrestleMania XIV, and a class promo ended the show featuring the return of The Undertaker and setting up the WrestleMania match with Kane. In addition, it propelled us for next week's RAW really, with Stone Cold and Mike Tyson's street fight being the theme of the night. In addition, Sable was given a risque segment where she revealed her breasts (live, she was wearing pasties apparently) and it definitely brought the definition of the Attitude Era out. The catfight between Jacqueline and Sable is another match built for RAW this week. In the ring, we had a decent match with Ken Shamrock and D-Lo Brown (despite being green, D-Lo has a ton of potential), a stunning match with TAKA Michinoku and Brian Christopher yet again, and Owen Hart against Triple H. Opportunity was given to Justin Bradshaw against Jeff Jarrett, but the match did not turn out good. We also saw a decent Shawn Michaels and Vader match, but didn't serve too much purpose. We predict that next week's RAW will not follow this week's route.
-- The WWF has WrestleMania XIV on 03/29/98. The card currently consists of: - WWF Championship: Shawn Michaels vs Steve Austin (Mike Tyson as Guest Enforcer) - Kane vs The Undertaker - Boston Street Fight: Owen Hart vs Cactus Jack - WWF European Championship: Triple H vs Terry Funk - WWF Intercontinental Championship: The Rock vs Ken Shamrock - Tag Team Battle Royal: Winners Face The New Age Outlaws for the WWF Tag Team Championships - WWF Light Heavyweight Championship: TAKA Michinoku vs Scorpio/Brian Christopher - Pete Rose & Gennifer Flowers will also be in attendance.
-- The WWF Sunday Night HeAT special is a one-off as of this moment. Odds are that it may be brought back as a Saturday Night's Main Event style show in the near future for further specials on the USA Network if successful..
-- The Rock 'n' Roll Express were signed by the WWF last weekend and debuted on RAW. They were signed to bring depth into the tag team contenders battle royal, and as far as rumors are concerned, the WWF also signed another free agent tag team to compete as well. In addition, an ECW tag team is rumored to be appearing in the battle royal. Odds are the New Age Outlaws will retain the WWF Tag Team Championships regardless.
-- The Undertaker and Kane rivalry will definitely resume from WrestleMania XIV. In addition to this, Terry Funk is once again contemplating retirement and may end it with a WWF European Championship run.
-- WWF RAW received a 3.6 rating to WCW Nitro's 4.9 rating.
-- In results from WCW Uncensored from 03/15/98: - Booker T def. Eddie Guerrero to retain the WCW World Television title - Konnan def. Juventud Guerrera - Chris Jericho def. Dean Malenko to retain the WCW World Cruiserweight title - Lex Luger def. Scott Steiner - Diamond Dallas Page def. Chris Benoit & Raven in a Triangle match to retain the WCW US Heavyweight title - The Giant def. Kevin Nash by DQ - Bret Hart def. Curt Hennig - Sting def. Scott Hall to retain the WCW World Heavyweight title - Randy Savage def. Hollywood Hogan by DQ in a Steel-Cage match
-- In results from WWF RAW is WAR on 03/16/98: - Ken Shamrock def. D-Lo Brown by DQ - Jeff Jarrett def. Justin Bradshaw - TAKA Michinoku def. Brian Christopher - Vader def. Shawn Michaels by DQ - Stone Cold & Max Mini def. The New Age Outlaws - Kurrgan & TAFKA Goldust def. Skull & 8-Ball - Triple H def. Owen Hart
-- In results from WCW Monday Nitro on 03/16/98: - Bill Goldberg - Ultimo Dragon def. Fit Finley - Scott Norton def. Chris Adams - The British Bulldog & Jim Neidhart def. Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom - Raven def. Chris Benoit - Ernest Miller def. Yuji Nagata - Scott Steiner def. Ray Traylor - Booker T def. Raw 3/9/98... I have officially conceded to you and Penguin for now. Let's see how you do with this show, mania is approaching. Jack going crazy because no shot at gold? I've seen him get plenty of chance just in this diary! And walking out on Charlie won't help his chances. Good DX promo and an even better Vince retaliation. Funk/Triple H will be awesome and that leaves Owen/Jack as well. Vader over Bradshaw is fine and I do like how you had him come back with a big Lariat after the loss. Both men could be so much more man. Finally, some heat from Faarooq towards the Rock. Hopefully they blow up at this awards segment. Hayes! and Heat! If Kurrgan/Goldust win the battle royal, I'll be disappointed. Like this segment and how the rock put himself over so well. Also love Faarooq walking out on Rock getting his ass handed to him. Knew it! Owen/Jack street fight will be good, but I see Owen walking all over him. Owen over Vega is expected. Sable/Jacqueline at Mania? I see it happening definitely. Interesting to see the Headbangers go over here...and I don't like how the King just makes a match out of nowhere. With what authority? Right again! Sable will crush Jacqueline! Val Venis ftw...and Gangrel easily taking care of the Brawler...no surprise. CRAZY ending to Raw and happy to see Austin go over in a nonsense way. Taker back ftw!
Raw 3/16/98... Taker/Jack is the dark match? Crazy. Explosive opening to Raw; bunch of big time matches named here. D'lo subbing for the Rock is great and I love the Faarooq confrontation. Maybe a triple threat for mania?! Sable just going bare chested? SAVE IT FOR MANIA! Vader accidentally causing Bradshaw the bout is perfect and I wonder what you have planned for the NWA title. Nice, Vader/Jarrett rematch then. Nice, happy to see Scorpio help TAKA so he gets a fair rematch. Match should tear down the house man. Tyson/Austin going next week? Was hoping for a clean finish here, but alas, Jarrett ruins everything. Michaels/Jarrett celebrating together? meh. Austin choosing Max again is hilarious and them going over is even better! Kurrgan/Goldust over again? meh. But Rock N Roll Express debut ftw! Wonder what Jacqueline has planned. Triple H over Hart served its purpose for the aftermath. That was one hellacious brawl. Taker/Kane segment sums up all that is awesome in this diary. What a way to go out man and Mania is looking awesome. Keep it up bro.

Raw is War
Greatest. Dark. Match. Ever. Austin picking another partner is a move I'm not too sure about. I can't see him picking anyone really. Not sure of the tag match being on HeAT, perhaps it could have been on tonight? I understand you need big names for the show though. Perhaps Cactus Jack versus Terry Funk or something a long those liens would have been acceptable. Nothing much to say on the opener besides good build for Rock/Faarooq/Shamrock. I've always wondered why The Nation/Shamrock feud seemed to open up the show. Boobs on Raw? As hot as it is, perhaps it would have fitted better on the War Zone, but who cares, boobs! I could Vader taking the strap at Mania, but I'm not sure of the NWA title being back now. There is enough under card titles as there are. TAKA versus Scorpio is a great addition to Mania. Jeff attacking Vader to cause the DQ was good to make sure both Vader and HBK look good, but the aftermath is interesting with HBK telling Jeff he sees potential in him. Ugh, exact rematch from last month. Austin getting the win was good to gain steam going into Mania. Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust winning was good, and nice to see the teams invade to hype the Battle Royal. I hope Rock 'n' Roll Express don't stay after Mania, I took them off of my diary as quickly as possible. I've never really been a fan of the NWA stuff in the spring of 98. Good win for Hunter, but another crazy brawl would have been fun, and Funk being the camera man was also pretty cool. I could see a tag match next week between these four or something with those four men in it. Yes, Taker versus Kane at Mania! Awesome ending to the War Zone! Nice stuff, can't wait for Mania!

| WWF Sunday Night HeAT: Sunday 22nd March 1998 |

Tuczon, Arizona - Tuczon Convention Center

A video package aired, promoting this television special of Sunday Night HeAT, as tonight we will see Shawn Michaels and Triple H of D-Generation X team up to take on Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk! The opening video package for Sunday Night HeAT aired, and we go to the Tuczon Convention Center where pyrotechnics went off and Jim Ross, Michael Cole and Kevin Kelly introduced us to the USA Network special, only seven days away from WrestleMania XIV!
1) The Quebecers, Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust vs The Godwinns and The Rock 'n' Roll Express |

This was a hype for the tag team contenders battle royal taking place at WrestleMania XIV, an event where the winning team will face the New Age Outlaws for the WWF Tag Team Championships later on in the night. The crowd were in a frenzy as the Rock 'n' Roll Express competed in their second match here in the WWF after debuting on RAW is WAR and then beating Los Boricuas on Shotgun Saturday Night. Kurrgan was kept out of the ring by Godwinns, as Pierre and Jacques seemed to work over Ricky Morton. Gibson got the hot tag and he ran in but Pierre and Jacques set him up and the Quebecer Crash got the win!

Winners: The Quebecers, Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust @ 5:49 [*3/4]

The Quebecers celebrated their win as Kurrgan entered the ring, Kurrgan tossing Pierre and Jacques over the top rope, but the Godwinns clotheslined Kurrgan out! So many contenders to the WWF Tag Team Championships.
A graphic appeared, promoting "Marvelous" Marc Mero taking on Scorpio, the Nation's Kama Mustafa against Ken Shamrock & DX taking on Terry Funk and Stone Cold!
A WWF WrestleMania XIV M&M Moment aired, reviewing WrestleMania II where Andre the Giant last eliminated the Hart Foundation in an all-star battle royal match.
-- Commercial Break --
A WWF WrestleMania XIV M&M Moment aired, reviewing WrestleMania XI where football linebacker Lawrence Taylor beat Bam Bam Bigelow in the main event.
We returned to Sunday Night HeAT as "Marvelous" Marc Mero stood in the middle of the ring, microphone in hand and Jacqueline with him, Mero talking about how tomorrow night on RAW is WAR we would all be in for a treat because we would see his voluptuous Jacqueline dismantle, humiliate and embarrass his ex-wife, Sable! Mero laughed before the theme of the WWF Light Heavyweight Champion hit. 2) Non-Title Match: Scorpio vs Marc Mero (w/Jacqueline) |

Jacqueline played such a distraction in this match to Scorpio, as Scorpio was going to face TAKA Michinoku at WrestleMania XIV officially in seven days, in what could potentially be the biggest match in both men's young careers. Scorpio mixed it up with Mero, as "Marvelous" Marc started getting in some hard-hitting punches, stunning Scorpio. Mero worked the head of Scorpio and grounded him to disallow the fast-paced action. Scorpio fired back as he soon slipped out of the TKO attempt and nailed a spinning facebuster, then nailing a springboard 450 splash for the win!

Winner: Scorpio @ 4:34 [**1/4]

Scorpio celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, but they were cut off as the theme of Brian Christopher hit, Jerry "the King" Lawler leading the way for Christopher, as Lawler revealed that he went to Vince McMahon and he's got it signed: Christopher challenges Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship tomorrow on RAW! The crowd cheered, another obstacle in Scorpio's way!
A WWF WrestleMania XIV commercial aired, based around the Undertaker and Kane rivalry. WrestleMania XIV will be live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 29th 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts.
The WWF Rewind vignette took us back to RAW is WAR as "Iron" Mike Tyson issued a challenge to Stone Cold Steve Austin to tomorrow night on the War Zone in the parking lot! Austin later accepted the challenge.
-- Commercial Break --
A video package aired, showcasing the rivalry between Owen Hart and Cactus Jack. 3) Kama Mustafa (w/The Rock) vs Ken Shamrock |

The Rock was at ringside tonight to try and sway the odds in the favor of the Nation, and last Monday night on RAW is WAR we saw some more dissension in the Nation as Faarooq seemed to try and make the save for Ken Shamrock just to watch as Rock led the Nation to a beatdown on the "World's Most Dangerous Man". Shamrock defeated D-Lo Brown on RAW, and so Kama Mustafa was now out to take him down. Shamrock and Mustafa mixed it up with the kicks as Shamrock was on his way to meeting the currently 'inactive due to ankle injury' WWF Intercontinental Champion, Rock, but tonight he had to settle for Mustafa. In no time, Shamrock applied the Ankle Lock for the win.

Winner: Ken Shamrock @ 4:19 [*1/2]

Ken Shamrock celebrated his win as the crowd cheered, The Rock stood at ringside in disappointment, and the "World's Most Dangerous Man" didn't seem done, Shamrock grabbing Rock and meeting him at ringside when Mark Henry dove at Shamrock from behind! The "World's Strongest Man" tossed Shamrock into the ring post as Rock watched the encounter, Faarooq showed backstage talking to D-Lo Brown about how this whole situation wasn't right! Again, Rock and the Nation left Shamrock lying.
In the backstage area we see Sunny as she is conducting an interview with Paul Bearer, Sunny asking Bearer why he is so afraid of The Undertaker and Kane facing off. Bearer mentioned how Undertaker and Kane were kept away for so long because they had the potential of destroying the World Wrestling Federation, hence the name the Brothers of Destruction. They weren't allowed to team, and the WWF was only big enough for one: Kane. They got the job done, but Undertaker will not let the "Big Red Machine" have his moment, and so Kane will take what the "Phenom" stole from him and take him out for an eternity of suffering, if not with fire, with another method of torture. WrestleMania: the "Deadman" dies!
We see D-Generation X heading to the ring, confident looks on both of their faces, Chyna accompanying Triple H and Shawn Michaels, up next, DX faces Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk in the main event of HeAT!
A WWF WrestleMania XIV commercial aired focused around the Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels rivalry. WrestleMania XIV will be live on pay-per-view on Sunday, March 29th 1998 from Boston, Massachusetts.
-- Commercial Break -- 4) Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk vs D-Generation X (w/Chyna) |

An action-packed main event to this very special USA Network presentation, two of the top matches on the card for WrestleMania XIV in seven days paired together, as Triple H seemed to underestimate the ways of Terry Funk. The WWF European Champion had a hard time fighting him in the opening moments but Funk managed to take him down, and Funk nailed him with a big piledriver which almost gave Funk the shocking upset. Stone Cold and Shawn Michaels soon went at it, and the arena erupted! The "Heartbreak Kid" tried to run from the "Texas Rattlesnake" but Austin took him out! Austin then went for the Stunner but HBK ran him into Hunter, the Pedigree countered but Austin got the Sweet Chin Music! Shawn and Funk went at it before Triple H took him down with the DDT. Austin then gave Triple H the Stunner for the win!

Winners: Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk @ 7:25 [**]

The crowd cheered as Stone Cold Steve Austin and Terry Funk celebrated in the ring, the Oklahoma crowd happy to see them victorious, as Sunday Night HeAT went off the air!

WWF Sunday Night HeAT
Alright, "rival" let's see what you have cooking up with your HeAT. I hope it sticks around down the road, it's SO much better than Shotgun. It does a lot better in ratings and gets more of your talent featured to the viewers. It's a great place to build people up to save more room on Raw is War for feuds and segments. Eight man tag opening up the show is realistic. The Quebecers, Kurrgan and The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust picking up the win was the best choice, good simple booking to open up HeAT. Perhaps a face/faces winning would have been better for the first match, but it's 1998, and everything is ass backwards. Scorpio with the win is best, I actually have plans for both of these men in my diary, but this is yours. Christopher challenging Scorpio for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship on Raw should be great, but I fully except Scorpio to retain with his title match going into Mania. Good win for Shamrock, and nice post match beating to hype the Mania encounter. Good, solid booking there. Lastly a fine main event to close the show with the right men going over. I can see Austin and Hunter winning at Mania. Good edition of HeAT with good booking throughout the show top from bottom.

-Decent way to get the rather mid-carders on the card. Fine either way who wins this one. -Scorpio and Shamrock both going over are the better ways to go. -Great main event as usual on all shows. Austin and Hart going over was great. -Solid show.
