i stockpile books as well, but moreso comics/graphic novels.
for novels i am currently reading I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb, perhaps you've heard of it as it's received wide acclaim. it's a really indulging read - i was hesitant as my mother suggested it but it has made me a believer. next up in line behind it is The Fountainhead, another cliche read...i rushed through it the first time.
for ongoing comics, currently i've been juggling: bullet to the head, do androids dream of electric sheep, dmz {yet to start it but it looks superb}, death note {a manga}, and the existence 2.0/3.0 series (mind you, i really like to read comics strictly at leisure so i let the situation escalate without concern).
funny story: i'll often go back and reread a book even if i am not particularly interested in it or even find it well written only to attempt to recover the initial experience of reading it. i tried it with Scar Tissues, rhcp frontman anthony keidis' biography today, realized how much of an absolute piece of trash it was, and literally immediately propelled it into the burn pile.

I just ditched the Michael Graham book. It's not that it's not good (probably), but it's based on such a current event, and when you pair that with the fact that I listen to him on an almost daily basis, it reads as - well - redundant. I've since moved on to "Jack: Straight From The Gut" by renowned former CEO of GE Jack Welch. Already the book is entirely riveting. Up next on the docket - in no particular order of what I'll pick next: - "The Rascal King: The Life & Times Of James Michael Curley" by Jack Beatty
- "Nickel & Dimed: On (Not) Getting By In America" by Barbara Ehrenreich
- "Redemption Song: The Ballad Of Joe Strummer" by Salewicz
- "Nobody's Child" by Marie Balter
- "My Lobotomy: A Memoir" by Howard Dully

Unbroken. It's a newer book. it's the true story of a ww2 bomber officer who ran in the olympics thus meeting Hitler. Returned from a bombing raid with over 500 shots in his bomber. Downed in the ocean spending 47 days in a raft, was captured by the japanese. It's an incredible story of survival. A great read and my fav book of the year.

I do all my reading on my Kindle(s) any more so I don't have any physical books laying around waiting for me. I tend to read a ton of fiction. I've got on my list right now: Wicked Naked Heat The Trench The Once and Future King Good to Great A Short History of Nearly Everything The Alchemist I jump around from book to book. This is why I love the Kindle stuff so much. It syncs across the 4 different devices I read on so I can read where ever. The Alchemist is a great book and one of my favorites. It's a fairly simple read I think you'd be able to get through it in a day. I started it around Thanksgiving. I got about 5 pages into it and was completely bored to tears so I shelved it. It just didn't grip me at all.

I'm finishing up Colin Wilsons 'The Outsider' which is really a tremendous book for anyone who appreciates the dynamic of characters throughout classic literature. After that I'll be reading 'A Farewell to Arms' as well as 'Mind at the End of its Tether.'
