Been watching alot of Tagged Classics from 2001 and 2000 the last few days, and first off, off topic, Kurt Angle is ing awesome ;D. On topic tho, after watching NWO 2000, Big Show is a huge heel, second biggest in the company, and other stuff, it stuff seems like a weird time. Between October 99 and Janurary 00 so much happened. Big Show in particular went through alot of change; - He was a mid-card heel - He was the top face/champion - He was a top heel All of this in just over 10 weeks, thats insane. Plus, I think its obvious that seeds were planted early on for what was the planned WM16 Main Event, Austin vs. Show, what with Show being the replacement for Austin at SS, which could have easily lead to Show being the guy who ran Austin down. There was also the huge rise of Too Cool, in a matter of 10 or so weeks, these guys went to being mega over and in the top of the mid-card. And the Radicalz, I didn't see any Raw from RR to NWO so I never really saw what the hell happened with the Radiculz, but they were in, and again in less than 3 weeks were top heels. Angle also got majorly pushed from pretty much opening SS to being IC and Europeon champ in such a very small amount of time. It just seems very crazy stuff to me, however it has intriged me enough to actually purchase the PPv's from October to December of 99. So yea, does anyone else feel this way?

i think part of it was due to 2 of the main writers/creative consultants of WWE - Vince Russo and Ed Ferrarra - leaving right around Oct. 1999 for WCW , so i don't want to say it threw things into a chaotic state ,but i'm sure quite a few short- and long-term storylines and plans had to be changed since whatever ideas they had in their heads went with them....
it took a couple months for WWF/WWE to get back in the groove again,as it were...

Don't forget, straight after WM2000 Big Show became a midcard face and then 2 months later became a midcard heel again before disappearing completely.

yeah the Radicalz came in as faces to help Foley against DX but turned on him the week after?2 weeks at most also Vince knew Austin was done after Fully Loaded 99.the writing was on the wall and he needed that op.he los the title to Foley at Summerslam and that was that. Austin was kept on TV in angles(much like autumn 97)in the hope that his neck would sort itself out but as we seen it didnt-he didnt really wrestle on TV and didnt wrestle at Unforgiven 99(outside enforcer for the title match ) Rebellion 99-wasnt even on the card . No Mercy 99-lost to HHH. then the same thing for the next month no wrestling before being ran down.

You are def right about Big Show. He has been all over the place from being considered a joke to mid card to champion. He has turned face/heel more times than I can count.

I definitely notice that Val Venis went from beating Rock and Mankind, Test went from marrying Stephanie McMahon, and Al Snow feuding with Mankind to declining in late 1999.

It was definitely a weird time due to Russo's sudden departure, the October 99 - January 00 period was basically just tying up whatever loose ends were still open and somewhat starting over with a bunch of guys characters. A bunch of storylines were started and dropped.

I'm actually watching every Raw and PPV through '99 now. Currently only in May at the moment though, at the height of the Corporate Ministry angle. Definitely looking forward to watching what happened after Russo/Ferrara left though.

Yea, its quite awful seeing Too Cool getting a pop as loud as Triple H or Cena do nowadays, back when Too Cool were 5 weeks into their career
