according to Honky,Dibiase and others the plan was for Dibiase to win the tourney at 4.this changed when Honky refused to drop the belt to Savage because he(and others) said Honky was ignored in the meetings about the match and he was gonna be totally jobbed out to the physically comparable Savage.Honky went on the road and rang the JCP about work.....Vince rang him straight back to talk business.......he says he knew one of the guys on the road would ring Vince.he reckons it was one of the Rougeus.
so Savage who Vince wanted to push way way up got the W at WM4.
Honky says when Vince came and spoke to him properly about losing to Warrior at Summerslam 88 he complied 100%.even though it was gonna be a squash he said no problem because he was consulted in a business like fashion.
