Honestly to me, the more Punk's the better...but that figure is far from perfect. The mask is too rounded on his head and it just looks like he has an abnormally large skull...plus the beard is too small.
I'd love to see it released just to have a figure representing Punk from that short time, but I mean really...it's not going to be the end of my life if it's never put out there. Shame they even showed it to be honest.

Ugh, I'm so over this figure now... and as massive a Punk fan as I am, all this whining is actually making me hope the figure never sees the light of day. What I don't get is why Vince wouldn't approve it for a release in another line/or fashion. I understand the need for an updated Punk to get released in the main lines, but this one could easily be lid into an upcoming DM wave or made an internet exclusive. After all those are the dumping grounds for any older ,but not necessarily classic, attires for superstars in elite format. Personally I think this whole "accident" was done to gauge response to whether they can milk us for a 25.00 Punk in lieu of the 15 dollar one they knew they couldn't release in Elite 10/11 or whatever. He probably saw the ridiculously oversized mask - it seriously looks like an 70/80's style crash helmet. If they're going to do a mask, make it fabric, or don't bother, because this looks horrible.

I think WWE would have released that Punk as an Elite 6 but we all know that it was another Punk into that series. Sure, this is hard to see a figure that will be not sold but we just need to get into something else. Come on, the next Punk will be awesome ! How can Mattel fail after showing that masked Punk ? By the way, I've seen both of this "Elite 6 Punk with a "OTL/Supreme Team" head... cgi.EBAY LINK NOT ALLOWED/WWE-Mattel-Elite-Series-6-CM-Punk-Custom-Figure-Loose_W0QQitemZ230601261324QQcategoryZ1170QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp5197.m7QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8016607685811364031

In my mind their biggest mistake yet was not using this head for that figure. I don't think the one they used is too bad but it seemed a bit lazy just painting a beard onto the one they used for the Elite Series 1 Punk where as they could have improved it by miles just by using a different head.

You're right. Sure, they could have turned the head into another more realistic back then...
When I take a look at your sig, I see a big mask onto Punk's head :s It looks like it's not fit enough...

yeah, but that means sh*t ....Defining Moments "The Dragon" Ricky Steamboat in the dragon costume? from his 3 month run in the summer of 1991? HARDLY a defining moment in his long career, yet Mattel chose it because it gave them the resources, and allowed them to spend the money due to the higher price point,to make a cool looking figure... same with Macho Man...Defining Moment? WM VII? yeah,it was a great match, but he lost, and was "retired" because of it...i would think a more Defining Moment would've been his WM IV title win...or WM VIII title win,for that matter...again,just an excuse to make a cool looking figure that people were clamoring for at a price point to justify it's production... they could do the same here with Punk....an excuse to put out a cool looking figure at a price point to allow all the detailing and accessories needed ....give him a S.E.S. shirt too,and he's perfect... while i see your point, the masked Punk wasn't even the highest/defining moment of the SES let alone of Punk's whole career. the bald/masked Punk was towards the end of it all and really it was pretty blah. cool figure or not i don't see anyone dropping close to 30 bucks on this Punk considering Warrior, Rock, Macho, and HBK all sit at my Targets at that price point. again, though,i have to bring up the point of the Dragon...The Dragon gimmick wasn't ANY sort of Defining Moment for Steamboat's WWE tenure(s) ,much less his entire career, yet we got him...why? because it looked cool, collector's wanted it,and it could be done properly at the DM-level price point...

that's fine, and i agree...guess what i'm saying is,even though the masked SES Punk was a short-lived gimmick,i can totally see it fitting in the DM line, since all of them really AREN'T "Defining Moments" in the wrestlers career...just an excuse to make a more detailed figure with more accessries/costume pieces...
