Not sure if this goes here or classic board but I was watching WWE 24/7, the Monday Night Wars. On Raw in 1997, I seen RVD come out and trash ECW..
Was this a one time thing? I never knew RVD was in WWF back at that time, why did he leave ECW? How long did he stay with the 'F?

It was part of the WWF vs ECW storyline in 1997.
Jerry Lawler recruited Rob Van Dam & Sabu. ECW had regular matches on RAW every week.

i believe that it led to the night dreamer beat raven for the first time. after the match rvd and sabu (Lawlers recruits) jumped dreamer and then out came lawler. leading to a pay per veiw match against lawler and dreamer. it was really just wwf help ecw at the time

Yea, they explain it on Van Dam's DVD. RVD ran down ECW, then led to RVD vs Tommy Dreamer in a flag match.

He was only "with" the WWF storyline-wise... he wasn't under any sort of contract or anything. Cant do an "invasion" angle without a few traitors, right?

All part of a storyline, after barely Legal RVD cut a great int about how he was worth more money elsewhere & then a while later thanks to Vince being involved in ECW he turned up on Raw, a storyline that RVD then screwed up by upsetting WWE officials when he refused to job to Road Dogg.

How is it possible that I don't remember this? I only remember ECW being on RAW once...
