He is hesitant because he has Jake Shields infront of him. He would be an absolute intellectually- disabled person to look passed him.
GSP although it does at times seem like he is hesitant, if he beats Sheilds and Anderson beats Okami, they will fight. When BJ confronted GSP after the Fitch fight, GSP looked like he wanted nothing to do with Penn. Its just his personality IMO. He has only mentioned that if the fight does take place, he wants to do it right and put the weight on properly. Anything more than that are internet warriors looking too far into it.

I hope Okami wins dominantly, but with this being in Rio and Silva probably being motivated as hell to put on a good show for his countrymen, I see Silva unleashing some Bruce Lee crap and taking Okami out. But you never know.

I love how Anderson has fought at WW, MW, and LHW....and GSP has never left WW...but yet people are still being critical of Silva...huh? Wtf does he have to do to get some respect....
he has the record that NOBODY is going to touch for consecutive wins...he is about to set the record for most title defenses....he has won via ko, tko, submission, decision, come from behind victory, etc... but STILL every new opponent that is announced everyone says "is the one to beat Silva"...
...not so much on this forum but every other mma forum is ridiculous. I now know how the true Fedor fans must have felt whenever he had a fight coming up.

You can never say never in MMA - but I just can't see Okami giving Silva much trouble. I can see the UFC playing up the Okami "was the last man to defeat Silva" a lot in the build-up...

I remember some people on other sites were claiming Fedor was a fatass and needed to train like a true athlete so he could compete at the more proper weight of 185. When the mighty fall, all the morons crawl out from under their rocks to stir up debate about stuff they clearly know/care very little about. It wouldn't be much different if GSP/Silva lose in the near future. Thankfully we manage to avoid such bs around here for the most part. |

I'm sure many people here are a part of Sherdog, though I've posted very rarely due to the bitchyness of that particular forum. For the most part I just sit and read there reactions for s & g's...
I think for those of us who did go off on Fedor here, was down to just being angry at the people who are OTT with the guy. Needless to say, yea I agree we'd probably get everyone saying that GSP and Silva was never that good.

The Fedor debate was a weird mix on this site. Some people were overly defensive of him, but others were really pushing the notion that he wasn't too good a fighter (which is insane).
I've still yet to really sit down and read through Sherdog. I've been meaning to make an account just so I can read through their crap, but it'd probably just raise my blood pressure to do so.
I was browsing a different site the night of Shogun/Jones. One post there pointed out the idiocy of Sherdog when the fight was over. He copy/pasted the thread titles off the first page that surfaced shortly after the fight ended.
Jones beat a defenseless gassed ring rust Shogun. Big deal.
Jones didn't look better, Shogun looked like CRAP

Shogun fans is what made me happy when Jones beat the crapout of Shogun

Wow just wow, Sherdog might be the big MMA forum, but it certainly isn't the best...
Attracts to many retards, what I like in the MMA community here in what I've recently joined, is most of the time we can debate with out someone getting butt hurt. And guys are helpful to me since I've been watching MMA a long time, but just not got the chance to watch as much.
It's the best section on Wfigs in my opinion at least. =]

Either way if it happens, it's going to end up Silva's stand up game is going to get the best of GSP, not letting him use strikes to set up take downs, and eventually getting a K.O. Because I'm confident the fight won't go 5 rounds if it's standing.
Or GSP is going to get his take downs and use his ground game for 5 rounds to win by points unless Silva gets a submission whilst on his back.

They only bad part about Sherdog is there MMA forums, there K-1/Muay Thai, Boxing,training and gear forums are really good. The only things I don't like about this one is it's almost all UFC and Strikeforce, like FEG just recently announced a DREAM BW tournament and no one made a thread. Most of the threads made in the other MMA forum are by James, PDw and my old account along with the very few others that go there. The other thing is not many educated people on here in terms of what's going on during the fight or the history but I understand not everyone loves the sport that way. A Kickboxing and a Grappling forum on here would be cool though. My favorite forums though are The UG, Lockflow, MuayThai Focus, K-1 fans and BoxingScene. I have to say though this is the one with the leats amount of "trolls" and arguments! |
