"Hey slide down another Guinness will ya'?"
Oscar turns to his friend, telling him how much he has missed these calm, peaceful nights. With nothing to worry about except having to pay for the drinks.
The barman slides the drink directly into Oscar's hand.
Barman "There ya' go Mr. Davidson, hope it's cold enough for ya.'"
Oscar "Thanks man, keep em' coming will ya'?"
Barman "Sure thing Mr. Davidson, need anything else?"
Oscar "Now that you mention it, could you pass the T.V. remote? I hate this show."
The barman chuckles as he passes Oscar the remote. As Oscar picks up the remote his friend turns to him and tells him to put on the soccer game.
Soccer Commentator "Wotherspoon passes it up the line to Riordan. Riordan is making the run, he takes it past Webster. He only has Wallace left until the goalie. He makes the run, fakes left and goes right. He is one on one with Kelloo. He strikes it and GOAL! Is this the beginning of the end for Hearts? Or the start of something great for Hibs? Well that's the half time whistle, we'll be back after half time."
Oscar, being a Hibs fan, turns to his friend, Jack who is a Hearts fan, and they just look at each other. They then both go to say something then stop. Oscar breaks the silence.
Oscar "Well that was a good first half, lets see if they can keep it up in the second."
Jack just stares right through Oscar. The adverts start on the radio.
Soccer Commentator "And now a word from our sponsors."
McRegals representative "Feeling hungry? Whether you are feeling peckish or starving McRegals is the place for you. We have everything you could want. Milkshakes, Nuggets and Burgers of all kinds. New stores now open in Edinburgh. Fort Kinnaird Shopping Complex. Newcraighall, EH15 3RD. Come today and get a photos opportunity with the McRegals mascots, Mr Chicken Nugget and Miss Strawberry Milkshake."
Oscar stares at the TV. His face is a mix of rage and confusion. Jack tries to calm him down but Oscar shoves him to one side. Oscar picks up a bar stool but Jack grabs it before he can do any damage. Oscar turns to Jack and stares at him.
Jack "Oscar, don't do something you are going to regret, just wait until your match with those McRegals and take it out then. Don't waste this rage on innocent people like me and this kind barman."
Oscar slumps onto a chair, puts his head in his hands and lets out a big sigh.
Oscar "I'm sorry Jack, those McGoofballs just get me so mad. I mean whats up with them? They work for a greasy food chain. They don't even need baby oil before wrestling they just bathe in the friers. I'll tell you one thing, they will get their asses handed to them if they aren't careful. Stone and I are no pushovers and if they think we are, well lets just say they better sleep with one eye open. Just wait and see Jack, my compulsive driver will make them see stars."
Oscar swallows the last of his Guinness and leaves. Jack leaves the barman with £50 to cover the tab. Jack leaves running after Oscar to make sure he isn't too drunk.
