I'm surprised no one has mentioned that today is the 20th anniversery of the infamous Andre the Giant WWF title win over Hulk Hogan on the very first NBC's Main Event!
This was the angle that got me into wrestling and turned me into a huge Hulkamaniac. However 20 years later I think it's awesome how Hogan got robbed by Andre and the Million $ Man. By today's standards, DiBiase would've gotten to keep the WWF title with all his money and power lol.

Yeah, I always thought DiBiase deserved the belt, at least a little run. Think about how different the average fan would remember him had he won the WM tournament.

Actually, you can thank the Honky Tonk Man for that. You can thank Randy Savage for DiBiase never getting the belt. It's Honkys fault, he wouldn't drop the belt to Savage, so Vince gave him the WWF title instead when it was suppose to go to Dibiase. |

My dad actually went to that Main Event taping! I wish I could had been there, but about two years before I was born so, yeah... lol I do have the show on tape though  According to my dad they actually had a nice amount of dark matches before the actual show started. |

Ted Dibiase was originally scheduled to win the Title at Wrestlemania 4, however Honky Tonk Man refused to drop his IC Title to Randy Savage a couple weeks before. Honky was going to quit if he did. So Vince decided to let Honky Tonk keep his IC Title and let Savage win the World Title. And Ted Dibiase got screwed.
