Well I had no clue that being practical and realistic was seen as so insulting and condescending to you sensitive bunch. Here, let me retract my statement, backtrack and be more like some of you: OMGODZ!!! I'm going back to bed, they robbed him!! They robbed the poor bastard!! WWE you can stick it, you've broken Christian's dream and I'll never forgive you for this!! EVER!! Better? That has nothing to do with it. You and your pal are up there snickering at all the "marks" and coming off as completely pompous. And in reality you're offering one rational opinion and I'm offering another. Difference is you call me a "keyboard warrior" and purposely overlook all completely valid points I made just for the sake of argument. And now you're stooping to child-like insulting in an attempt to save face amd STILL push the argument forward.

And who mentioned "insider" or called anybody a "mark"? I didn't. I said I'd had conversations with some of the boys, that's all. It offers a whole different perspective on the business. You have your way of seeing it, and I have mine. That's all it is. I see now that you guys are a little more sensitive and emotional about the business, and if I offended anyone with my comments, then I apologize. Online fighting and feuding isn't how I spend my days. So if anyone was upset, then I retract what I said and won't be pursuing this argument any further. Again, my apologies.

But you sit up on your insider pedestal and REFUSE to understand why people would be upset about this. Even if it doesn't bother you, you should understand why this has people angered.

You say we're making too big of a deal about this, but you're making a big deal about us being upset that Christian lost that title, something EVEN LESS important. Explain.

I know I get accused of having a "holier than thou" attitude around here, so I'll say this and be done with it. But I've met a lot of wrestlers, and I don't mean 20 seconds at an autograph signing either, I mean sitting down and chatting with them in-depth. One thing I noticed very quickly is that the fans know more about the TV show , and take the TV show way more seriously, than the wrestlers themselves. I asked one guy about being bumped from the Wrestlemania card to the pre-show, and his response was a laugh followed by "Hey, I still got that Wrestlemania payday and only had to work 25% as hard." On the other hand, the internet was in a blaze of complaints about disrespect, insult to the wrestler, blah blah blah. And ironically, the guy himself didn't care. I've had countless wrestlers who can't remember when they won a world title, or when a supposedly "huge" feud took place in their careers, while fans burn those dates into their brains. There's an in-joke called "That was a good one" because fans will often say to wrestlers "I saw you in New Hampshire the night you won the title!" or "Remember when you pinned Rick Martel and became number one contender?!". The wrestler usually has no memory of it at all. It was just another night, just another payday, but so that they don't hurt the fans feelings, they'll say "That was a good one." Listen out for it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't care or be passionate about wrestling. I'm simply saying that when I read posts that say stuff like "I had tears in my eyes when I heard Christian's dream had been destroyed by that MF McMahon" and "F you Orton, I'll never watch you again!!" it just makes me laugh because I know the odds are that Jay Reso is perfectly happy and healthy, he got his payday and his moment, and he'll probably have it again someday. So no, I'm not sneering at fans or mocking their emotion, but I am smiling a little because it really isn't the catastrophe that everyone is making it out to be. It's all storyline. Wow somone on this forum with actual intelligent thoughts. He is exactly right. All the marks on here really haven nothing better to do than get upset about who is carrying around a belt on a scripted tv show. Do you know what a mark is? Of course you don't. Cause if you did, you'd realize the only marks in this thread are you and IMAW. So because "Jay Reso" isn't angry or upset "Christian" dropped the title, I shouldn't be either? That's ridiculous.

So...anyone else pissed off about the Smackdown spoilers? No? I damn sure am, just read some of my other comments from today. I kinda gave up on it though, I figure I'll just have to put even more effort into ignoring spoilers now. But yeah, I'm sure as hell annoyed about it. But I'm not one of those annoyed at Orton, and I do understand why WWE would do it. I'm more just annoyed at the spoilers.

Honestly, besides the title change itself, I'm kind of upset that so many have taken a personal issue with Orton.

Unfortunately, it happens, I'm just going to be extra careful where I go between Tuesday and Friday. But I know this isn't the last time something will be spoiled for me. I really do want to know where their characters are going, cause I have a strong feeling one of them will be turning heel. There are no top heels on Smackdown. It makes sense.

Honestly, besides the title change itself, I'm kind of upset that so many have taken a personal issue with Orton. Same. I don't know what goes on backstage and until I do (that would be... never) I am not gonna judge Orton for his part in this. If it's not down to an injury to Christian, all we can be sure of is that it's a bad decision on WWE's part (in our eyes at least).

Well, here's something, let's list all the possible reasons (realistic or not) for building Christian up to a huge, dramatic emotional title win, only to take it off him at the next available opportunity:
1) Christian sustained an injury and had to drop the title 2) Vince (or the writing team) changed their minds since the PPV and wanted the belt off him 3) Something political happened involving Christian and he's gone from WWE 4) Randy Orton used politics to regain the top spot on Smackdown 5) It's the beginning of a storyline heel turn for Christian: snapping, feeling cheated, feeling there's a conspiracy for him constatly being held back and then being made to defend his title so soon after a gruelling match 6) It's the beginning of a storyline heel turn for Orton: the opportunist who stole Christian's dream. 7) Christian was just a transitional champ and that was the plan all along - to get the belt on Orton without Orton beating Del Rio this early in the year (Orton vs Del Rio heading into SummerSlam)
Any others? Which do you think it is?

1. He wrestled a long match with Orton so I doubt it was an injury. Plus if he was injured they wouldn't take the risk of him doing more damage by having him wrestle.
2. Which is bullcrapbecause then they shouldn't have even bothered.
3. Which makes no sense because what would have happened between Raw and Smackdown?
4. Maybe.
5. Orton seemed to be the heel after his comment before leaving.
6. Maybe but why would Teddy Long even give the fans the option to choose his opponent?
7. Why would we get Orton/Del Rio at SummerSlam?

True, but they've done it before with Taker, etc.
Agreed. Seems like a cheat and a waste.
No idea.
I don't see why he would, but who knows.
If that's the case, then perhaps that's the intention: to have Orton as the heel and Christian chasing him for the title over the summer?
True.
Just being hypothetical.

If you are an adult and you let something that happens in wrestling affect your day then you are a mark. The people ranting and swearing about christian losing are marks. Whether these things apply to you, I have no idea. There is a difference between suspending disbelief/ getting caught up in the moment and swearing and crying all over a message board a day later like many are doing.
