Yeah, its more of a know your audience thing. I agree the attires certainly had a lot to do with it. I would have much preferred Summerslam 1992 or Classic red LOD and Iraq Turncoat Sarge or Classic USA attire Slaughter. However, the lineups certainly matter too. A lineup featuring the Rockers, Andre the Giant. The Rock and Classic HHH would certainly sell better than one featuring george steele ya know?

This point is blown up by people who never watched anything but WWE. The Road Warriors were the biggest tag team in Wrestling way before they wore red spikes at Summerslam. This point is blown up by people who don't realise that they are far more well-known ( by present-day fans and toy buyers) for their WWF days.

We have already established this. Also the price doesn't help either. There is a reason that the last two Legends sets(4 and 5) have only been found on Mattelshop. I know a few Kmarts got in Legends 4 but I don't recall hearing anything about TRU or Target getting the Legends series in. The TRU near me had a few L4 Warriors, Orndorff and an Animal. They may have been returns or something as the place here took some K-Mart DCU Ex. figures.

We're always just going under the assumption. You can poll 20 people and get 15 red/blacks and 5 blacks....I can poll 20 and get 15 blacks and 5 red/blacks.....We get two separate results but still equal the same. There is no proof for anything that any of us "claim" is true.

However, I dont think Sarge would be that popular in anything other than with an Iraqi flag and purple winged eagle. That would have sold well because its controvertial and different, but not likely to get the Iraqi flag on the shelves in Walmart..... Oh no! I hate that Sarge. I think the Jakks 2 pack was kind of a stinker for TRU. One of the few Classics I passed on. A lot of old GI joe collectors remember sending in proofs of purchases for a free mail-away Sarge. If Mattel painted one similarly, that might have had some cross over appeal.

Mattel's biggest fault; not selling Legends in Europe!
A channel that about everyone can see in Europe, Eurosport, broadcasts the following WWE shows: This Week in WWE and Vintage Collection.
So, start selling Legends in Europe!!! The U.S. is only interested in the gazillionth Rock or Austin. Mattel, take those shells of your eyes and sell Legends (at a reasonable price!) in Europe!!!

They need to release the damn things in the UK its ing stupid that they don't, They release very other line over here but not the legends. I mean jakks at leased released the single packs of classic superstars in the UK. I just do not understand mattels resoning for not bringing them out in the UK has it ever been said as to why they have not. its not just the UK man,Ireland and the rest of Europe dont have these either.and its BS that we dont-they would sell. my Friend has worked for Smyths since we were in school and he has a high ranking Storeroom position with them now, and he has told me that Smyths WANTED Legends but Mattel said their strategy in Europe was to focus on the new guys.so Stores that wanted them were denied them.I have reported this on this site a couple of times now.its idiocy really. over the years Conor has told me many things about toy lines etc and he is in a unique position to get this info and he has never been wrong. I tell ya legends would sell better here than the mountains of Flexforce crap that never goes effin anywhere.Classics Superstars sold really well here(according to onor as well as the modern lines)so I genuinely dont understand Mattels position here.

Just a bad economy. You can't expect no matter how great or how popular the sets might be to sell loads right now.

To the original poster, I hope you know what you said has been said probably 15 times. By now everyone understands that most people blame it on the attires...

I actually think blaming it on the attires is pretty foolish, and I hope that most people don't think a camo Sarge or barefoot Snuka would have led to great things.

If they are better known for these days, why do people always refer to them as the Road Warriors and not the Legion of Doom? They had a 2 year stint in WWE where they were good. By the second stint they were finished.

We already had all these figures. The Legends series has wained because.... -It's too expensive in the US -it doesn't even get to Europe -When it gets here, we have our throats ripped out by greedy Wrestling shops. - Apparent there will never be as all encompassing collection as Classic Superstars in terms of sheer volume of names, which puts some people off straight away.
