Now with 80+ Mattel figures in just 6 short months of their production 6 months? Mattel took over the WWE line in January last year.

Of course sales are going to be higher once people realise:
a.) There is no other alternative for WWE figures on the market.
b.) The prices for said figures are much, much higher than what Jakks charged for their figures.

Mattel has released some great quality figures. It's no surprise it went up.

Not to be a party pooper but Mattel had the license during the first quarter of last year as well. yeah, we know that. what's your point? nobody was trying to compare mattel's sales to jakks'. he was stating that the numbers have gone up significantly in the past year. that's fantastic news. this is not to say that the increase is all profit. expenses may have increased too, but if the other posters math was correct and the 3 million equates to a 12.5% increase, than you can guarantee some of the 3 million is profit as no company would be so brash as to gamble on increasing costs by 12.5% amidst the current economic recession.

The prices for said figures are much, much higher than what Jakks charged for their figures. again, these numbers are being compared to mattel's own numbers from this time last year. thus the fact that their figs cost more than jakks figs has no bearing whatsoever... only point i feel needs mentioning is that fact that mattel had only recently acquired the license the first quarter of last year and thus peoples awareness of the product and the brand recognition wouldn't be at the level it is now.

Dude it was 7AM. ![:P](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/tongue.gif) It was a situation where I KNEW what I wanted to type and was saying it in my head as I was typing it. But still messed it up. I meant to add that year and 6 months. ![:P](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/tongue.gif)

I've never been a toy collector. And I was never compelled to buy any thing from the Jakks line because I think they're a second rate toy maker who does an average job. But once I saw the Mattel figures, I was hooked.

Legends are 1% of the sales according to Mattel... Where was the source for this? They claimed that sales were terrible and it was our fault that we weren't buying them... just a guess.

Look at how much less Mattel product there was on the shelf at this time last year. Of course sales are up. But we can all see that the growth is slowing. Before long Mattel will be up against a wall much like Jakks was, which is only natural. Expect to see lots more Rumblers type stuff to pad the sales figures.
