Hi all, I have just scanned and added my 1990 WWF sticker album to my website: sites.google.com/site/wwfstickeralbums/sticker-albums/1990-wwf-sticker-albumWhile doing so, it got me thinking that what a great era this was. The perfect era for wrestling figures. In my view, figures should be colourful, over the top, and eye catching. Nearly every superstar during this period was. If Mattel was to base many of its legends line on this era, I don't think they'd go that far wrong. What does everyone think? Regards Atimmo

Yes, late 80s early 90s had so many great characters. I'm partial to that era because thats when I first started watching as a kid, but would love all those Hasbros in that area to be made into Mattel.

I literally loved collecting the stickers for this book!
I spent hours in the playground swapping to complete it. Fantastic post!
Onto the subject I couldn't agree more - I'd love to get my hands on figures from this era -
Dino Bravo Legends figure? Yes please!

that was truly one of the best times in WWF's history. Me being only 19, I had a huge library of VHS tapes of WWF, WCW, ECW, NWA, WCCW, Japan, Mexico, AWA, WWWF with my dad being a time keeper in the NJ area from 90-96. So I got a pretty decent sized taste and witnessed a huge majority of what went on in that time period.

Such a great era. Wow never seen that book b4....Must have beena UK ex. I have a similar one but some pics are different Yeah, must be different to the US version. I used to have the 1992 one as well, but don't have it now...I must purchase one I think... lol I literally loved collecting the stickers for this book! Yes please! And Ronnie Garvin!! that was truly one of the best times in WWF's history. Me being only 19, I had a huge library of VHS tapes of WWF, WCW, ECW, NWA, WCCW, Japan, Mexico, AWA, WWWF with my dad being a time keeper in the NJ area from 90-96. When I was younger I really wished I lived in the states (and still do haha), so that wrestling was more accessible.

This must have came out just before I got into wrestling, I started with the trading cards in 1991 that had this packet: 66.70.150.228/makakatoys/wwfmerlinpack.JPG (I did post it as an image but it's too big for the page) The cards had blue borders, can't find good pics online. My first WWF sticker album was the blue one, which I guess was the next one on from your one. It really did all seem so colourful, magical and larger than life back then. They have made quite a lot of those characters in that book though: Warrior, LOD (albeit in the wrong colours), Savage, Slaughter (also in the wrong colours), Dusty, Rude, Jake The Snake, Texas Tornado, Hacksaw, Model, Snuka (wrong attire too), Bushwhackers, Akeem, DiBiase, Hillbilly Jim. The Rockers too, hopefully they'll get released at some point.

Absolutely Agree , What a great Era .... WWF garnered so much attention during the hulkamania era through the new generation era then picked up steam again for the attitude era. but the later 80's early 90's is My fav for sure

I've just looked on ebay and there are trading cards with the same photo of Hogan but a blue packet, I can't think which of them the blue cards came in. I can remember getting cards in the blue packets and in the silver packets, I think.

Plus I have to say it was Great looking through the pages of that book. ;D (This is how I feel after reading it) pc83uk - Mattel have done well so far but everyones worried we wont get anymore Legends out of them. I would'nt count Million Dollar Man as he was'nt elite style (imo). I hope (like you) that we see them all eventually (soon )

If they made actual WWF versions of LOD, Snuka, even Slaughter I'd get them. I just didn't care for the attires they released them in. I've never had Snuka or LOD in my collection, even with JAKKS, so I was ready to get them. I also think there are plenty of fans of ECW, WCW and the Attiude Era, so more from that time would be nice instead of doing so much 80's and very early 90's roster people.
I get that a lot of people are in TNA and are keeping this from happening, but they can't stay there forever.

Give us a Warlord with Staff, Head Piece & Chest Piece & I'll be over the moon.
Or a Warlord vs. Bulldog 2-Pack based on their feud where Warlord would have his accessories mentioned & Bulldog would have a Closed Mouth Scan, Long Braided Hair & a removable Fabric Union Jack Flag.
That's the trouble with todays era of Wrestling, most (Not all) where generic / basic Black & makes the place look dull.
I used to love when Randy Orton & Triple H had different coloured trunks during 2003 - 2005 before they both just started going back to basic black.
That's why guys like Rey, Cara (OK, he's only got one attire for now, but it stands out at the mo), Bryan, Ziggler (when he wears the Silver or Gold Shorts), Zeke, Punk, Kingston, etc all stand out a lot more from the rest of the roster by the gear they wear.
Not every wrestler can get away with having multipile colours or multiple outfits, but for the ones that can, should & if it means more figures of the same person but in different attires, I'm all for it.
You only really need 1 Orton, 1 Cena, 1 Triple H, 1 Taker, etc, but can buy loads of guys who change their gear reguarly.

Oh man, I miss sticker books... They were so much fun to collect. I don't think I ever had a WWF one though, which now makes me sad.

Thanks for all the comments. I, like most of you it seems, love looking through magazines, books, etc. from that era. It was so over the top, but if you look at the wrestling, it was also pretty believable. Even now, if you stick on Wrestlemania 6 or 7, the matches are still enjoyable and believable, and that's even when you have a Mountie fighting a future Matador! Love it!!
