I started a thread the other week finding out your opinions on Mattel's WWE products, after reading through and having a good think I've decided that I want to start collecting a line again.
Now I'm split between the Elites or Basics, obviously with the Basics I'd have the variety of the PPV Line as well as double packs... although with Elites I'd have the versatility and great accessories from what I've seen. I'm guessing a lot of you collect both lines but I'd like to hear arguments for both sides, as I already know Elites are more expensive then Basics.

I like the look of Basics a lot more. I hate the torso split on the Elites, it just looks horrendous sometimes - see the Legends Warrior - and I hate the way people wearing trunks look. I just think, for display, basics are far better. Depends what you're after though, play or display.

Elites - Pose-ability + Playability

I only display mine, so that's why I like the basics. They have a smoother look to them. Plus with PPV & two packs you can usually keep the roster up to date much quicker.
But if you play with em, than elites are more likely your cup a tea. I still do pick up plenty of elites but mostly for their gear.

I collect both. I tend to favor Elites but many of the basics have a better sculpt. Plus Mattel seems to make basic figures first, ie Nexus, Corre, Bryan, Ryder etc and I just have to have them the minute I see them. I don't want to wait for Elite versions.

I used to only buy elites, but basics have grown on me.

Both. There's not really any reason to only get one or the other, unless you have an OCD that means you have to choose between stuff like this. My collection is full of both kinds, some basics are better than elites and vice versa.

I only collect Elites. With that you get Legends and increased posability. I bought one basic and that was Drew McIntyre for a fix up and I was really surprised at how much I hated it. You just can't do anything with those legs
Plus you get all the detailed belts, shirts and other cool accessories

I get both, that's another great thing about Mattel, they kept both lines in the same scale. I prefer Elites but some figures I feel will only get the Basic treatment which is why I end up buying both types.

I collect both, some scans on basics are better than elite and some superstars (dreamer, knox, shelton...)only had basic figs made. But elites are better for posing - so I buy the best of both.

i really collect based on the actual person, i do not play with the figures so for display purposes i prefer basic however the elite come with awesome stuff. i cant say i prefer one or the other really but gut reaction since i dont play with them id say basics, also more variety in basics IMO

I collect both lines. No reason not to. The Elites are good for accessories and some degree of better posing. The double knees are useful in that regard but the ab crunch doesn't add anything IMO. As a matter of fact ,the ab crunch cut is the main reason I prefer Basics. I think Basics display better. But both are nearly the same really and both should be in anyones collection. The only things to avoid ,really, are Flex Force.

I collect both, also. But, certain names are better as Basic than Elite.

Elite when possible, Basic when not.
I can't quite shun basic because there are people that just won't get one any time soon, or ever now that they are gone from WWE.
When I started I wanted only Basic; didn't like the chest joint. Now I pretty much want the elite of someone if possible.

I only collect Elites because I love their details and accessories. And I think they are better to animate with than the Basics because of their additional joints.
