Just picked up Madden 12 today and played my first pre-season game with the Rams and so far I'm really disappointed with the gameplay. The linebackers seem to jump 5 feet in the air and pick off everyone of my short passes, my o-line collapses nearly every play, and the accelerated clock run off is pissing me off. Did anyone find out how to turn it off in franchise or is it impossible? I'm sure once I'm finished with the pre-season I'll be happier with the game. Franchise mode is top notch, though.

Yeah, the LB thing pisses me off to no end. For some reason, when I'm air mailing a ball, some how one of the inside linebackers knocks the pass down.

I fixed the accelerated clock run off by making the quarters 10 minutes long. I lost the second pre-season game to the Titans 36-30. Blew it in the fourth quarter thanks to my awful second string corners.

Just fiddle with the sliders. Can't avoid the redic LBs, but you can reduce how often they will do that. Happens a majority of the time if you like throwing around the middle.

I threw a pass nowhere near a LB tonight yet he still managed to tip it away with his hyper extendable arms. I've also upped my quarter length in franchise to make up for the accelerated clock.
Quite enjoying the Superstar mode as an HB. Involved in every offensive play and scored quite a few rushing TDs. Drafted by Falcons and got to the NFC championship before losing.

I appreciate EA requiring me to actually try when passing this year. Last year was like shooting fish in a barrel. Some of the trophies in this game are ridiculous at first look. I have no idea how I'm going to return 2 kicks in one game, when I can't even get pass the 20. The Rushing QB one is also kind of a trip. None of them are impossible, just more Madden 10 ish. I just got the two kickoff TD's in one game. I was the Falcons, playing the Saints. Had one in the first quarter and then just got one in the first play of OT to win 26-20. |

Started a franchise with the Niners. Did a fantasy draft and re-did their scheme. Had like the 5th pick and grabbed Nnamdi. Made their defense a 4-3 since I much rather that than a 3-4. Some of my best players are like: Bradford, Ray Rice, Sid Rice, Winslow, Richard Seymour, Cromartie, Tyvon Branch. Grabbed a sh*tload of young players who will develop too. Looking forward to building this team. also  LBs. I swear they play better coverage than DBs. Accurate QBs throw over their heads 99% of the time. |

No one, from what I can see online, has been able to get anyone from their draft classes. Example, I've had three friends try to get Dan Persa. Four years into their franchises (sim), no Dan Persa. Persa's a senior currently. Yeah, issue. |

I decided to do 2 franchises, this time as the Texans with a Fantasy draft. My offense has Aaron Rodgers, Frank Gore, Desean Jackson, Mike Wallace, and Vernon Davis. Loving it.

persas not rated high enough in ncaa to make it into the draft class. if you want him, and have ncaa, just edit his ratings higher so he'll get in. if youre downloading the classes online... youre crapout of luck. unless you ask somebody to raise persas ratings and do the class again.

Hammer, Persa was, by some of the analysts anyways, considered to be a very strong Heisman candidate for this season until he was redshirted due to injury. Now, analysts are normally nimrods, but one, if you've seen the guy play you'd know he's a beast, and two, for a QB coming out of Northwestern of all schools to be in the pre-season Heisman talks...yeah. He's good.
His overall's not too bad in NCAA either. Better than some of the QBs potentially coming over to my Madden game.

im not debating the merits of persa... im just saying he didnt go pro in my class either, because his ratings werent good enough.
i also never heard persa mentioned for heisman quite frankly. northwestern is improved, but theyre not gonna win 10 games. but thats an argument for another forum.

It's really cheap of madden to not allow you to DL roster updates this year unless you have an Xbox Live GOLD subscription...I'm not shelling out ten bucks a month for that...ridiculous.

I like this game. It's not my favorite Madden game, but I still like it. I started a franchise with the New England Patriots after a fantasy draft.
