I still remember the first time I watched a WWF program. It was a late Saturday Night and Saturday Night's Main Event came on. My mom stayed up late with me because I was only 8 at the time. The only match I remember from the first WWF program I ever watched was the Savage/Steamboat ringbell incident. My mom freaked out because of the way Steamboat sold the throat injury and I could tell she didn't want me watching it anymore. It didn't matter, because from that point on, I was hooked to WWF. Even though Savage was the bad guy I still loved watching his matches. I was the happiest kid in the world a few months later when Hogan saved Savage from a Hart Foundation/Honky Tonk Man beating and became an even bigger Savage fan when he became the good guy.
RIP to one of the greatest of all time, Macho Man Randy Savage.

Kind of a funny thing in that video, Arsenio makes a comment that Savage "should make a rap album."

This is a sad day. Macho was and still is my favorite wrestler. I only went to 2 WWF events when I was a kid and I remember watching Macho Man vs Andre the Giant in Denver CO. I didn't realize it at the time but I got to watch two of the best ever that night. My heart goes out to his wife and family. RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage.

You inspired me more than this world will ever know. Enjoy. You were a tower of power that was too sweet to be sour, You were funky like a monkey every minute of every hour. For you, space was the place and time distortion had to be, And your fans here on earth wanted the madness for eternity. You met every challenge with fists clinched and face to face, You even fought and defeats dragons and snakes. Flying off the ropes with an elbow drop, There was no way you could ever be stopped. Identifiable by your voice alone, Even being Dubbed the macho king while you sat on your throne. We hung on your words with interviews memorable and classic, And we knew it was serious when you took off your glasses. I promise not to lose you in the sands of time, For you will always be that all time hero of mine. --jay lethal--

I typically don't post in these but this is going to be an exception.
Such a sad, sad day. Savage was really one of the best. Never got the true respect he deserved in the WWF. Hogan got all of the praise/glory but I feel Savage really carried the WWF along with him.
RIP Macho Man.

I guess it just goes to show, you never know when your time will be up. The world lost a good man. I know the term "wrestling icon" is used a lot but Randy "Macho Man" Savage was and will always be a wrestling icon and a legend. He wil be missed.
My favorite memories of Savage were his WWF title win at WrestleMania IV, his match against Ultimate Warrior at Wrestlemania VII and SummerSlam '92, and his match against Bret Hart at WCW Slamboree (1998). His flying elbow drop is one of my favorite moves EVER.
Rest in Peace Macho Man and thank you for the memories.
