In light of the recent passing of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, I have come to realize that being a wrestling fan since 1988 can feel depressing. Here are two things I wrote on Live Audio Wrestling and the Review-A-Wai's Facebook pages:
Wrote this on Live Audio Wrestling's Facebook group:
"Would I be correct that watching late-80's, early-90's WWF is becomming increasingly depressing to watch in light of Randy Savage's passing? This is one thought that comes to mind about how many wrestlers we've lost who competed in the 80's and early-90's. While watching WrestleMania VII two months ago, its sad to see how many performers on that show are no longer with us."
Wrote this on Review-A-Wai's Facebook page:
"SummerSlam 1991 just got to be an even more depressing Pay-Per-View to watch in light of the passing of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage."
Doesn't watching WWF events from 1985-1993 feel depressing or what?

I know what you mean. While watching old PPVs this "count" is always in the back of my mind like - "he's dead"

I get that when I watch some old videos. In fact, just yesterday out of curiousity I counted that 43 figures in my collection represent a wrestler that has passed on.

I feel the same way...I've been a fan since 85/86 and it does seem real depressing...it almost makes me not want to watch the current product for some reason. When I watch the old stuff I just feel like it will never be that good ever again.

That's kind of morbid if you ask me...

I feel a little sad and depressed when watching old stuff, but it's not because the wrestlers that I love have passed on; it's because I just straight up miss being a little kid and would give anything to go back to those days
