What was the deal with him?
At times he was involved with top superstars at the time but he never got anywhere overall.
He's never done much since he left WWE as far as I know so what was the original appeal with this guy?

Last I've even heard of him he was working for TNA as a agent.

He had a decent following as a face during the King of the Ring tournament in '95, and I liked his Caribbean Strap match with Austin in '96, but everything he did after that just...no.
Los Boricuas was all kinds of garbage.

He was a monster heel in WWC (as TNT). His pushes in the WWF weren't too memorable. He was still involved in the IWA/WWC recently. Just check wikipedia.

Savio Vega was a big deal in Puerto Rico, before and after his WWF run. He went back there after he was finished with the WWF and to my knowledge, has been working there ever since in various roles.

At a ppv in May...in what i think was 1995 Razor Ramon was getting his butt handed to him by Jeff Jarrett and Road Dogg and Savio did a run in to save him ( he came from the crowd) Razor was immensely over at the time thus an allignment with him boosted Savio's popularity. Savio had been in WWF for about a year as Kwang . . . that wasn't working at all lol so i assume vince tried something new with him. He then had that epic night at king of the ring even though he didnt win, and if im not mistaken may have almost beaten Jeff Jarrett for the IC title at one point. After that he was in the NOD and Los Boricuas...aka epic fail gimmicks for him lol

I guess he has one claim to WWF fame, in that he can say he feuded with Steve Austin.

I wasn't watching WWF TV at the time, so I'm not sure if he debuted on TV first, but the first time I saw him was at the KotR PPV when he went all the way to the finals. The commentators were building him up like he was the next big thing (with Vince being especially over enthusiastic for him LOL) and introduced him as Razor Ramon's childhood friend or something.
I just remember wondering who the hell he was and why he was such a big deal.
