Does anyone know if Mir actually has Judo experience? It's obvious from my sig he did a little in training, but does he have a history of practicing it.

It's a standard hip toss, really.

It's a standard hip toss, really. It's a Judo throw that I wasn't taught until like 6 months into my career. Though throw to get down for me.

I would assume Mir has just dabbled in Judo here and there in training during his many years as a fighter, as opposed to being a formal practitioner of the art.
Either way, that throw is incredibly slick. I always love seeing it pulled off in the ring.

JEEZ Mir is huge now.
The guy is still a d-bag but I admire his dedication to get his belt back..

I'm sad that Struve lost but I'm really liking that Browne dude. He's got some power in his hands. I just hope he learns some better technical striking rather than haymakers because winging those arms around in hopes of catching someone's jaw isn't always the best strategy.

He was beating Kongo in the standup. He had to wing his arms like that because he was going up against some guy who is 6'11 and has an 83 inch reach. Gotta find a way to get to him somehow.

I'm a little late on this because I just got around to watching the show.
Good win for Mir, but he seemed blown up at the end. He'll need to be in better condition when he fights for the title. I'm sure he knows that. Mir-Lesnar 3 should result in a nice buyrate for Dana.
I'm beginning to wonder if Nelson isn't overmatched in his class? The last two fights, he's struggled against longer reaches/better clinch leverage from fighters with bigger frames. Given that HWT is loaded with guys 6'3" and over, Nelson might want to consider Light HWT.

It's a standard hip toss, really. Ehh..it's similar, but with a HT, you plant, hip in, and throw. Mir did enough of a sweep to call it a HG.
