I updated the Superman post with the right writers and artists. And I believe the last book to be announced for the relaunch: GRANT MORRISON'S ACTION COMICS, drawn by Rags Morales. My most anticipated title. So what will everyone be reading come September?

I'm kind of holding out, hoping dc releases a subscription rate for digital comics.

So what will everyone be reading come September? 1. Justice League 2. Action Comics 3. Superman 4. Green lantern 5. Green Lantern Corps. 6. Green Lantern: New Guardians 7. Red Lanterns 8. Aquaman 9. Legion of Superheroes 10. Legion Lost Sadly that list is shorter than my current pull list. After having to read so many comics over the past few years to keep up with what has been going on in the DCU, it now feels like I have to do it all over again to find out what has changed. Probably after October or November my pull list will only be the GL books. I'm kind of holding out, hoping dc releases a subscription rate for digital comics. I was wondering they would as well but I doubt it. Cover price for the digital edition is $2.99, while a print edition will be $3.99. Something tells me they will fell the dollar less price will be enough of a savings for the readers.

I guess my theory is this. I used to spend 50 a week on comics. Now I spend zero. If they said, hey, for $20 a month, you can have x amount of titles, or whatever. I think they will get there eventually, but it's going to take a while.

I don't know if you saw this but there are a few interviews from guys like Scott Snyder saying that nothing is getting retconned, sure there will be some small changes but nothing huge like whole stories getting erased from DC history.

I'm not much of a DC guy. The only character I really follow is Batman. That said, I'll follow Batman and Robin and Batman Inc. for sure. I'll try out the first couple issues of Batman, Red Hood, and possibly Catwoman as well.

I've seen it. I've also seen the interviews where they say the characters are going to be younger, fresher and more modern. So instead of a mid 30's married Superman we can have a 20 something single Superman? Until September rolls around and I get to see what changes are made I am uninterested. I know on a few GL boards there is a panic forming that Hal will only be in the JLA book and Abin Sur/Sinestro will be replacing him in the main book. Details are few and without details this is just a gimmick to boost sales.

More news for Superman fans. It seems Superboy is being placed in the "failed experiment" role and Supergirl will be anti humans. The biggest news is the solicitation for Action Comics #1:
"This momentous first issue will set in motion the history of the DC Universe as Superman defends a world that doesn't trust their first Super Hero."
Interesting way to start a new era for DC, but it makes me wonder if the first few issues of Action Comics will explain the evolution and outbreak of heroes in the world.

I'll be honest, I used to spend a lot of money on comic books. Now I spend nothing and read mainly the really old stuff from the 90s. The universe just got so ridiculously complicated that I, the casual reader, couldn't follow it. They've retconned stuff so many times that it's impossible to tell what is really going on in current continuity. You have guys running around who have died so many times it's ridiculous. If I pick up a comic book now I can't follow what's going on. Lanterns of different colors, guys who were dead for years are now back. Guys who were the main heroes for years are now dead...............maybe. It's gotten convoluted.
They had a similar problem in the early to mid-80s. The ran Crisis on Infinite Earths and basically retconned everything. Everything went back to square one and Superman 1 and Wonder Woman 1 ran the re-vamped origin stories of both heroes. To me they need to go back to that.

Honestly, to me the biggest news out of this is same day digital comics. As an Ipad owner, comics are AMAZING on there. I haven't bought many, because they are always WAY behind on what is available. I keep hoping DC will offer an unlimited subscription type of format. Say for $30 a month, you get access to all titles in digital format. Something along those lines. I would gladly pay it. I would pay this too. I have close to 300 gb of old comics (80's-90's) that I read all the time on my Galaxy Tab. I'd pay $30 a month to read unlimited digital titles. Wouldn't think twice about it.

I'm all about the digital nowadays. If I could pay $30 and have access to all the new stuff every week, I would. In fact if I could pay $30 and have access to all the old stuff as well (DC has a huge archive of work) I'd pay for that as well.

I dont like how Action Comics, Detective Comics, Superman and Batman are all starting at #1. It is just a cheap ploy to increase sales. I would rather buy Action Comics Vol 1#950 than Vol 2#1.

I don't really care about numbering. But it never really made sense to me to keep the same title name, but restart the numbering.
Honestly, the only thing that really has my knickers in a twist is Barbara Gordon being back as Batgirl.

I'm glad they are restarting each issue with the #1. It makes things less confusing IMO.

Well, if they wanted things to be less confusing, they would drop numbered issues, and just release the story arcs separately. The numbering will just get confusing again in a couple of years.

Well, I usually wait for them to be released on TPB anyway, so I'm really hoping that they start numbering their TPB's in proper order. Talk about confusing.
