I knew Dana would give Diaz a title shot if he could talk him out of boxing. This is going to be GREAT!!

Diaz signed a new multi-fight, multi-year contract with Zuffa on Tuesday, which allows him to compete in either UFC or Strikeforce events. He will still hold the Strikeforce welterweight title after the GSP fight.

This is going to be great. If Rampage is cleared to fight Jones sooner than later; could we possibly see Bones Vs Page and GSP Vs Diaz as Headliner and Co-Main Event on the same card?

Rampage has a 6-moth suspension.

Assuming he isn't cleared before then by a physician.
Same for Stann.

This was the next logical fight for GSP in the Welterweight Division.
While I don't see GSP finishing Diaz, GSP will take the decision, easily. A wrestler the caliber of GSP will be too much for Diaz.

Definitely a fight I've been looking forward to for a LONG time...
...that said, I hope GSP absolutely destroys Diaz in convincing fashion.

Diaz has been damn impressive lately. I honestly hope he wins but I fear St. Pierre will wrestlef*** him to a decision. I think on the feet it is pretty much even. Yeah, I said it.

I am glad we are getting this fight..but a few things bug me... First off... IF GSP wins he does not get the SF WW title but Diaz gets his strap if he wins? that unify the damn belts. Secondly... If GSP wins..what is next for him after this? The Anderson Silva fight keeps being danced around so a move up to 185 is the ONLY Logical thing to do after this fight if he wins.

It's a fight in the UFC, for a UFC title. That is why Diaz will leave with the belt if he wins, but GSP doesn't leave with Diaz's belt. If GSP was facing Diaz at a Strikeforce PPV, then it would be the other way around.
Why unify the belts when the two companies are still being ran seperately, and plans for the future reflect that?
And one can really only assume that Silva is next for GSP, pending Silva's fight with Okami.
