Joint Sims Alternative Palooza Universe
Thread #1: THE OVERVIEW/SIGN UPS
I, first off, want to say that this will be the last time I ever attempt anything like this. This has to be at least the fifth time I am writing something like this up and I really want this stuff to succeed. This doesn't depend on me, it depends on all the writers in the diary. Before we get into anything, I'll give a brief overview about how things will go, the schedule from here on out and such. I am REALLY excited about all of this, so let's get this ball moving.
First off, welcome to the final attempt of the Joint Sims Alternative Palooza Universe! Yes, I am combining all names I've used before to make one super name. I know its lovely and you're all jealous. Anywho, let's get on with this.
OVERVIEW:
1) 8 writers will be taking the role of the head of a promotion which completely starts from scratch. This will be the sims universe, so all promotions will be brand new. (no re-using WCW/ECW/etc.) There are two global spots, a national spot, a cult spot, three regional spots, and one local spot. Below will show exactly what is expected/given in each promotion.
2) This will be a joint diary, meaning all shows/rumors/updates will go in ONE thread. ONE MEGA THREAD. If it gets out of hand, we will start a new thread. To be honest, I want this poop to get so far that we need a new thread. Depending on the size of your promotion, you will be writing a show weekly, bi-weekly or possibly tri-weekly. A panel of three judges (myself and two others) will review the show and give you a rating out of 10. Whoever has the best rating will be awarded the winner of the week and may receive a prize. If you are a global promotion and win the week, you may have an article written about how your promotion is crushing its competition and cannot be stopped. If the local promotion wins various weeks in a row, then it may be able to move up a ranking (to regional to compete with the other three) or possibly add another superstar. This goes for any promotion, not just the ones named.
3) Now, to get this over with quickly...if you sign up to be a judge, I MUST APPROVE YOU. No offense to any of the newer guys on the board, but I most likely won't let you judge if you has less experience. Also, if you are great replier, you'll be automatically pre-approved. In the end, I pick the other two on the basis of reliability and such.
4) Now, on to the actual promotions. When it comes to workers, you must keep the bare minimum workers on your staff at all times. If you don't, you will receive a point deduction. If you exceed, you also receive a point deduction. Did I mention the point system? I guess I didn't!
5) The point system will be as follows; I will be keeping track of who wins each week (promotion wise and worker wise) and the top promotion at the end of the month will receive something special added to their promotion, whether it be a new superstar, new championship, boost in ratings etc. The point system is based solely on the judges ratings.
6) If you miss your show for the week, that won't be so well for your promotion. It will go down as a 'cancelled show' and for those who have played EWR, you know how bad this can be for popularity. Of course, we won't have to worry about EWR as there won't be any sim used. Yeah, this is breaking the cardinal rule, but its going to be much easier this way. That way, you don't have people getting injured or getting signed away and such.
7) I encourage promotion warfare. If you want to take shots at the other global promotion or dig into your regional enemies, please do. It will only add to the fun!
8) Alright, now its time for the rosters! How will rosters be decided? Well, if you are a global promotion, you get first dibs. But, instead of picking superstar by superstar, everyone who owns a promotion will send me a list of 60 workers they would like on their roster. That way, the bigger names will be on the bigger promotions and such. The draft will be more explained at a later date.
9) I also encourage you to add 'newsletter' updates on your promotion. Give me some rumors so I can get excited over your next show.
10) Finally, have fun guys. That is the only way this will work. If this goes on for awhile, maybe you guys will receive ACTUAL prizes for promotion of the year and such. I am so dedicated to this poop that I will put my heart into it. I have some extra time now, so let's do this. Also, I encourage you to PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS if you are confused. I am more than willing to clear anything up for you guys!
