Love the show, but can't say I'm too interested in figures.

I love the detail McFarlane toys puts into their figures, but they're so damn brittle & fragile.

The Walking Dead Series 1 Action Figures Officer Rick Grimes, inspired by the cover of The Walking Dead comic book issue #1, is in his police officer uniform, complete with cowboy hat and jacket. Figure comes with his signature axe and pistol weapons, plus a police duffel bag with removable shotguns. Features approximately 20 points of articulation. Michonne, inspired by the cover of The Walking Dead comic book issue #19, is fully accessorized for all of her unforgettable acts of vengeance to come. Figure comes with her signature katana sword and various implements of revenge including a power drill, hammer, pliers, and spoon. Features approximately 22 points of articulation. Zombie Roamer illustrates that the only sure way to stop a zombie is to destroy its brain. Press the lever on the Zombie Roamer's back, and its head splits open, unleashing an explosive mess of blood and brain fragments. Also features a removable axe and removable arm segments that expose the jagged bones and torn muscle that lie beneath. Zombie Lurker comes with a gory surprise. Pull its torso up, and it splits apart at the waist, exposing its intestines and other internal organs, transforming it into a legless "crawler." Also features removable arm segments and a head that splits at the jaw line, all exposing layers of decaying muscle, bones, and blood

I love the detail McFarlane toys puts into their figures, but they're so damn brittle & fragile. Sadly there was a time when a figure from McFarlane could fall 5 feet to the floor off a shelf and not have a mark or break. Now they do use cheaper plastics and some of the figures just fall apart. As cool as these look I will continue avoiding McFarlane figures.

Gonna grab both series, the comics and the show versions.
You guys that like the show, if you haven't checked out the comic - you should. Head out and pick up the volume 1 trade paperback, you'll thank me... your wallet however, will not.

Honestly, I cannot wait for these. Never read the comics (may have to remedy that with a trip to my LCS) and I've only seen a couple of episodes of the show so far, but IMO, these are some really cool figures. The Rick makes a cool police figure alone and the zombies, well this must be the only time I've ever said that the inclusion of an action feature makes me want a figure.
At first, I thought this was another poor license for McFarlane to pick up. Honestly, the Prince of persia and Guitar Hero stuff they did was well sculpted and painted IMO. Yeah, I went there. I thought they were good figures!! Just, nobody wanted toys of them. Walking Dead though? Well, the comic seems successful, as does the TV show. AND, the zombie figures themselves look fantastic. One of my most anticipated lines this year, if I'm honest.
If anyone was curious about the action features, here's 2 videos showing them off:

These look great, I'd definitely like to collect these when they come out. I'm a big fan of the show(can't wait for season 2!) and I have read the first volume of the comics "Days Gone Bye" and like that too. Are the tv show's figures and the comic's figures from the same line?

Are the tv show's figures and the comic's figures from the same line? First set is due out in September (comic), and if I remember right the second set (tv show) is due out in October. No one really should be surprised McFarlane is producing these, since TWD is published by Image Comics - which was founded in part by Todd McFarlane (among six others), and he and Robert Kirkman are friends... not to mention that Kirkman is a partner with Image. Hopefully with that close relationship, these figures turn out more above average than recent toys put out under the McFarlane name.

Glad they're opting to make figures based off the comics as well and not just the god awful tv show. I love the Michonne!

You are not Mr. Bomb. I really, really can't stand the show. Everything's too dumbed down for me.

Its on cable TV and not much is dumbed down. If they had it on hbo with tons of violence and added in nudity thats all anyone would care about like game of thrones, true blood etc and people would miss the plot.

I don't mean it in terms of violence/action. I mean the characters have lost all of the depth and significance. Plus most of the new characters are cringe worthy (Michael Rourker (sp?))
