yes i think they changed the price....plus Barnes and nobles has them for $16.97.
people should relax on the price anyway....a few bucks here or there does not matter for these awesome figures. I hate figures with gimmicks normally but these are amazing!

I was at TRU tonight...$19.99. Bullcrap. Screw you McFarlane. Considering how well made, painted, and sculpted these are, also considering the only demographic these are aimed at are ADULT collectors - I'd say $20 is a more than fair price. It's not like these are Spider-Man toys that are a dime a dozen that will sell to children and adults alike no matter how crappy they are. Look at my review, the price is totally warranted.

If you think so, that's your opinion. But $20 for a 4-inch figure is highway robbery, I don't care how good the paint is. I'll wait until they go on sale, just like every other figure line that McF puts out.

It isn't just about paint. The planning, labor, character specific molds, and cost of materials are all factors, and it isn't cheap... Especially to produce toys aimed at such a small demographic of people. It's simple economics, and I personally don't like cheaply made figures, I would rather pay more, and have my money go further to get quality figures, then pay less and get crap in return.

Gotta be said, these figures are kick ass! I've always thought the 'new' McFarlane got too much hate from many collectors. What little they have released these past couple years have been great IMO (Prince of Persia are the best sculpted 3 3/4" I own, and yeah the movie was awful. Even the Guitar Hero stuff was very well sculpted/painted/articulated). These are no different, in fact the articulation's significantly better than I had imagined. I definitely want a Grimes, if only for a badass looking figure, and that breakable zombie, which is pure genius.
I will certainly agree on the price issue though, I was hoping we wouldn't get them so overpriced here but to think they cost more than a 7" NECA figure... Crazy. Yet again for McFarlane, it's a case of "these figures look great, I'll pick them up when they're cheap".

...again, no one HAS to pay TRU prices. Specialty shops, as well as online retailers have them cheaper.

Listen to AdamBomb if you're actually interested in these things. I found these last week at a suburb TRU for $17.99 a piece and QUICKLY passed. Saw them again at a city TRU for $19.99. Ended up ordering them online for about $63 or $65 shipped. They were too pricey to pick up at retail, but far too cool to pass up in general. I do agree that the price is high (retail or online), but I'm happy with my purchase. To be quite blunt, either you wanna pay it or you don't. I can't get mad at McFarlane toys, since personally I love the job they did on these.
I plan to order the "show" version of the toy line in the next week. I'm not much of a collector, but when something catches my attention, I feel like a kid again. Can't wait to have all of these on display.

Whatever. If you want to pay, good for you. I won't. Yes. Eye rolling at logic. You got me. I have to agree that 20 dollars is a SKY HIGH price. These figures are about the size of a G.I. Joe, the detail on them (paint wise) looks about the same as the effort put into a G.I. Joe. I would love to have these but there is no way I'd pay 20 dollars for one. I think 10 dollars is a high price considering that Neca, Mattel, Jakks, amoung others make decent looking figures which are twice the size and have about the same articulation. I, like the other person, will wait until they are on clearance before I think of getting them.

Because I have no problem doing that to prove you wrong. If it makes you feel any better, I just spent $50 on the NYCC Exclusive "Bloodsplattered" Rick Grimes. I have a job, don't worry - I can afford it.

I have a job too, but a job does not justify spending that much on a figure to me. Maybe it's the size of the figure? When I see those mini figures, and then I see a price that matches a 8 to 10 inch figure I start thinking somewhere someone is laughing all the way to the bank. It gets me thinking we were given a smaller figure so they could save on material costs all the while we get stuck with a bill for a full sized figure. Maybe it is the fact that past McFarlen figures are twice the size as the Walking Dead Figures? I love the figures they've made in the past of various different monsters. Those figures/statues have great detail, twice the size, and I dont ever remember paying 20 dollars for them. OR Maybe I just dont feel comfortable spending 20 dollars for 1 action figure. I have more Jakks figures than anything. I never paid 20 dollars for a Classics fig, and if I spent 20 dollars on figs I prob got at least two for that money.

And like I said before those figures from The Walking Dead are available as a set for $13.75 each from spamS. I personally, always found Jakks figures terrible looking myself.

The thing is, you have companies like NECA and to a lesser extent Mezco releasing figures of this standard in the 7" scale for the same if not a bit cheaper. I saw the Rick hanging in my local comic store, but didn't even give him a proper look due to the price which was something over £10, aka. too much. As for Mattel, I don't think it's fair to compare these with them as Mattel are well known for being some of the biggest cheap asses in the toy industry. These are all individually sculpted and have infinitely better paint detailing (I say that as a fan of Mattel's WWE stuff, but again, they too are WAY overpriced when compared to a lot of other figures out there). If I saw one in tru in England for £20 , I'd buy it in a heart beat play.com have the whole first set for £13.99 each, buddy!

Well here it is, they're the "same size, with as much effort put into them as a G.I. Joe." Yeah, riiiiiiiiiiiight.

Wow, those are tiny. I saw an unopened case of them a week back but I wasn't interested in the comic figures. I can see these hanging around a while like many of McFarlane's latest lines.
