I almost bought that figure at TRU yesterday....but $14.99 for a figure the size of a G.I Joe.....couldn't do it. Back in the day figures that size were going for $4.99 - $7.99. It sucks.....I'm finding myself not buying stuff just because I can't justify the prices based on the size of the items. They're bigger than G.I. Joe's, as I mentioned earlier in the thread... they also aren't as mass produced, and there is also more care and detail put into to the figures. A comparison to G.I. Joe's isn't fair, nor is it justified in any way.

It sucks.....I'm finding myself not buying stuff just because I can't justify the prices based on the size of the items. Not GI Joe size, but I agree completely. Why NECA can pump out fantastic toys at 12.99 RRP (7", best sculpt and paint for their scale) and other companies can't is beyond me. and I mean, you can't tell me that properties like Evil Dead and Gremlins are so popular that they justify the obviously high sculpting and paint costs. This is why at this stage, it seems the majority of toy purchases I can seem to justify are either NECA or Japanese imports. Saying that, I'd read poor things about the TV series and I am legitimately impressed. I think people aren't giving these a fair shot simply because they're bitter about the scale. The likeness is good (clearly lost some paint detailing in transition from prototype to mass market, but that's expected) and I like that they manged to incorporate articulation into them without heavily disrupting the sculpt. I have no problems with scale tbh, although zombies are so universal that it would have been kinda cool to display them next to other toylines. Biggest gripe, however, is that the awesome accessories they come with won't be compatible with other toylines. bummer. May pick them up (although I haven't seen much of the show) simply because they are GOOD toys. Will be waiting for a price cut though, for sure.

I don't know if this was a variant or a factory error....but today at TRU I saw a Deputy Rick Grimes figure where the skin was painted totally gray and it was splattered with blood. I didn't buy it, but I thought it was interesting.

I have Rick and Daryl now from the TV line. Someday I may end up picking up the zombies from both lines to help create a cool display. But, I will definitely continue to collect the 'living' cast for sure. I read somewhere that the next 2 series' will include Shane and Andrea (TV line) and Glen and the Governor from the Comic, as well as 2 more zombies for each. Hopefully those are true.

I LOVE These Figures!
Finally got around to getting all of series one of Both the Comic and TV Series.
But Yesterday, in Chesapeke Ohio, I found Walking Dead Figures at WAL MART.
I didnt know Wal Mart sold them.
The figures are exactly the same, and come with the same accessories, but the Boxes are far Smaller, and seem less gory.
They were only $11.99 a figure, and they only had the TV Series.
They were on a Tall, Walking Dead, carboard display at the end of the figure aisle.
They had multiples of everyone.
I Picked up Darrel Dixon, Rick, and the Zombies.
Anyone else found these at Wal Mart yet??
Also, regarding wave 2, I wish they wouldnt cancel Andrea.
I have the set pre ordered on spamS, but after NYTF, it seems the line up will change.
and while I am happy there are now 5 figures in the wave instead of 4, I wish the 2 Humans were Andrea and Shane, instead of another Rick and Shane.
Also the rumored Comic series 2 line up is up on cooltoyreview for anyone who hasnt seen.
The rumor for comic wave 2 is
Glenn The Govenor Zombie Zombie
Dont know if it will turn out to be true or not, But it would be fine with me.

Yes I heard Glenn is in riot gear. I have Series 2 Shane on preorder with spamS. I might go back and preorder Rick also, but Andrea would have been nice. I'll hold off on the Zombies as they are easy to find at TRU. (at least both syles Series 1 figures are)

I am wondering if they were canceled or if the line-up is being shifted. The TRU nearest me is the only store in the area carrying the figures at all. The TV figures have moved, slowly, while the comic figures haven't moved at all. The same full case of figures have been moved from the pegs, to the shelf to the pegs during the reset back to the shelf.

that. I want Riot Gear Glenn and the Governor. I think it's funny that most people voted for "more zombies" on that McFarlane poll, but those are the only figures that won't go away around me. I didn't buy any zombies from either wave so far. Andrea, Shane, Glenn, comics, movies, I don't care but knock out the important characters.

Posted on Spawn.com, didn't see it posted here: It’s officially a record-breaking show! AMC’s The Walking Dead is not only our favorite TV show, but now more than 9 million viewers have helped set a ratings record for the network by tuning into the second season final episode. With the second season full of massive surprises, shocking deaths and plot twists around nearly every corner, we have already started obsessing over where season three will take the survivors, and which new upcoming characters and zombies will take over toy aisles and office cubicles nationwide this fall. So, while legions of fans are anxiously waiting for season three to start, McFarlane Toys is increasing the anticipation with the announcement of its second series of The Walking Dead Action figures, slated to hit store shelves in October 2012. “As fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead series, our toy company is having a blast creating these figures with all the details and features iconic to the show’s favorite characters,” said Todd McFarlane. “My goal is to put out very intriguing figures and push the envelope, so that the true essence of the show is captured for all the fans.” So, let the obsession begin, The Walking Dead second series of deluxe figures will include both fan favorite survivors and zombies: Rick Grimes 2 – The small-town sheriff’s turned-hero and leader of the survivors during the zombie apocalypse, Rick continues to struggle with his moral convictions in season two. The deputy is definitely keeping fans guessing on what his next shocking decision will be. Rick will be featured as a brand-new sculpt in his civilian attire, prevalent in season two. Shane Walsh – Rick’s partner and loyal friend has become the antagonist of season two. Shane will be featured in tactical attire with his newly buzzed haircut. Love him or hate him, we can’t wait for his next move. Bicycle Girl Zombie – The maimed zombie girl shown crawling next to her bicycle in a park turned out to be one of the most iconic zombies from season one. She is also the first zombie Deputy Rick Grimes encountered in the season one opener. Well Zombie – A rotten, bloated zombie surprise resting at the bottom of Hershel’s water well that the survivors eventually attempt to hoist out by using Glen as bait. This is by far one of the sickest looking zombies seen yet on the series, and our figure is one dead on, stomach-churning replica. RV Zombie – During the opening scene of season two, one of the most intense scenes happens as a mob of flesh-eating zombies swarm the group. Unaware of the flesh-eating zombie onslaught, Andrea becomes trapped in the recreational vehicle when one climbs aboard. Under attack from this “RV” Zombie, Andrea fights back, stabbing the zombie in the eyeball with a screwdriver. Each human figure includes multiple interchangeable accessories and several points of articulation for limitless playability and customization. Each zombie figure features unique, gory play action. Figures are expected to sell for around $12.99 to $14.99 at stores nationwide. There is still time to start collecting McFarlane Toys’ first series of The Walking Dead TV Series 1 figures. The figures are now available at Wal-Mart, GameStop, Barnes and Barnes & Noble, Hastings Entertainment, Toys ‘R’ Us, and comic book and specialty stores nationwide.
