I would absolutely love for it to come with the WCW US title but that is probably a super long shot. Oh god, I LOVE that title. I'm not even going to entertain the idea that it could happen, but it would be the greatest thing ever. That title design could have fit in as a world championship if it wasn't for the fantastic big gold belt above it.

Jakks released a Classic Deluxe DDP with long hair but it wasn't nearly as good as Mattel will make it. I want a DDP figure from his feud with the nWo too, or his Karl Malone match. It was cool that they made it, but I really feel like DA figures were awful. The things where HUGE and none of them were too impressive. That DDP was the only DA I considered getting. I also agree that a short haired DDP would become a pass real quick. I mean I'd probably still get around to getting it but I wouldn't be in any rush.

mainly I just want a serious/heel headscan. hated all the Jakks smiling DDPs... i always remember DDP for his rise to fame as a heel, before his 1997 face turn. but like i've said loads of times before, even when DDP was a face he never smiled that much. so yeh, a decent serious/heel headscan for DDP is the main thing i want from mattel.

i agree with a lot of you guys if its the short hair it will be an easy pass. I got the jakks RA version a while back and quickly got rid of it. I think that was the low point of his career cuz that gimmick sucked big time.
While I prefer the tights if he did come with the jeans look i would still be happy. I think i would def prefer a shirt over a vest tho.
Hopefully we see this at comic con this yr. Can't wait for it.

I hope it's this one since Mattel seems to like the obscure outfits. he wore that quite a few times in the mid-90's.

Didn't DDP say he saw a proto of his figure and it had an epic mullet? Or am I going crazy? I swear someone on here met him and he told him that.

If I remember correctly DDP said two things about the figure.
1) that it was "a look that hadn't been done before" 2) and some comment about the mullet hairstyle on the figure.. can't remember his exact words
with the first one though, i want to point out that we don't know if he's truly referring to ALL his figures (ie including ones made during his career/at the time, such as OSFTM, toybiz, R3) or if he's just referring to the retrospective/classic figures made after his retirement (CS, CSDA). also we don't know how comprehensive his knowledge of his figures is. so i'd take the "it's a look that hasn't been done before" comment with a grain of salt
personally i really hope it is truly a look that hasn't been done before - i.e. his early wcw heel days (BEFORE his 1997 face turn).
side note for those who can't remember - his first figure - OSFTM - was made in 1998 and represented his 1997 black-tights/no-shirt babyface look. the CSDA figure also represented the same era. his pre-1997 heel look has never been represented in figure form.

Jeans and taped fists for me from 98 please.
Toybiz did an awful job with his figures IMHO.

atleast he's had his smiling short hair gimmick done already, so if its something that hasn't been done, the figure is promising.
